I LOVE sushi! So much that I'd actually eat it every single day of my life. I've had sushi all over the world, and still dream of some the places I've. And there are some great ones in the Omaha area. This one wasn't too far up my list. The orange chicken was good, and the vegetables make that choice even better, but since this place is naming themselves for sushi and not Chinese, I'll base my decision on that. The sushi was ok. Started with a basic California roll because that's mostly what my youngest child eats. Although he did branch out and try everything that was ordered this go around. That's a big step! The eel roll is usually one of my favorite basic rolls, but for some reason this one didn't seem to fit the flavor. Slightly disappointing. The mango roll was the best one of the order. It had a lot of interesting flavors, but I didn't quite like the tempura style. Alaska roll was interesting. The topping had a blandness to it that kept it from being great, but the inside of the roll was very good! The inside of the restaurant was really nice! It had a sushi making bar where you could watch them making it, which always gives a great cultural vibe to a place. I like the touch. Overall, it's ok and I'd go back for the Chinese cuisines. However, I'll choose somewhere else for my sushi fulfillment. read more

I ordered through DoorDash because I wanted some calamari and came across something called Sierra Madre. It is amazing. Calamari was good but a little chewy. The Sierra Madre is made from crab with cream cheese and jalapeño. It is a new favorite for me. I placed my order and it was done within 20 minutes. I am so happy I tried this place. This was a restaurant that made me think, I've tried it but I'll keep looking. The proximity to my house was the reason I went. Service: the service was good. Our waiter was attentive and prompt. Nothing was forgotten and everything came out in a timely manner. Ambiance: The location is ideal for the Twin Creek area and parking is ample. The inside was very clean and well kept up. Food: Here's where the 3 stars come in. The roll I ordered was fine for the price but there was something texturally wrong. The seaweed would not break down and the crab inside seemed mushy so I'm not sure if it's more of a crab mixture but it definitely wasn't pieces of crab. The miso soup arrived and was lukewarm. Also, and this is a personal preference, I don't like tofu and the pieces in it were cut up so small it was really hard to pick out. This place just opened up and my boyfriend decided to take me here. I will definitely be coming back again!! I ordered the chicken bento box and it came with all these sides. You get a choice of what type of sushi you'd like, chicken dumplings, edamame, salad, and steamed rice. They have plenty of affordable options. The service was great, as well! The waitress that was taking care of us was always making sure we were doing okay and gave us plenty of time to decide on what to order. I had kaiyo again this time with my friend. I had a veggie roll, wich I normally don't ever do. It was so fresh and tasted so good. You didn't even need the soy sauce. Then my second roll was the philly roll. I love this roll. Espically here. It doesn't have a fishy taste. And the smokey taste is out of this world. My friend had the salmon skin roll. And philly. He is new to the sushi world. He let me have two of his salmon skin roll. It was crunchy and so good. Next time I will be ordering that roll. The staff is so friendly and nice. They were able to accomodate our big party very last minute granted it was a weekday so wouldn't reccomended not giving them enough time to accomodate you. My grandparents and i were craving sushi and came to this restaurant. The inside is super cute and welcoming, they have cute paintings and decorative items. This restaurant used to be Beijing Tokyo, which had much to be desired. Since then, it looks like ownership has changed along with the name and I must say I am impressed. For a small town like Bellevue, their service, food, and revamp/remodel were a breath of fresh air. I had 5 rolls and my wife had the ramen and we shared a few appetizers. Everything was delicious except for the side salad. It was pretty bland and watered down dressing, but other than that small complaint it was good. First time visiting Kaiyo Sushi . Started with the crab ragoons, they were good, but not the best I've had. Next was the Sierra Madre, reminder me of a breaded and deep fried jalapeño popper with crab, oh so delicious. We both had the Bento Box, one steak, one shrimp. Every item was great. The steak was so tender and the flavors were great. With the box you get a choice of one roll, cool idea. Very affordable. The only thing that kept me from rating a 5 was the service. Food arrived quick, but the staff to include manager/owner(?) was more worried about sitting and conversing than waiting on tables. We stopped in here last minute on the way home from an appointment and had a great meal. There was a small hiccup when we asked to order sake to accompany our sushi (they have not gotten their liquor license as of 7/17/23) We started our meal with the Sierra madre (I think that's the name) it was fantastic. It's an app I've had at many other sushi restaurants in other states and haven't been able to find in Nebraska yet. My husband ordered the Imperial Nigiri and said all of his fish tasted very fresh and the amount of rice was perfectly balanced. I ordered the Out of Control Roll which features octopus, another favorite I haven't seen in many of the rolls in the places I've tried around town. I also tried the Pink Lady and really enjoyed the strawberry sauce that I wasn't sure about going in. Overall this restaurant looks like a great addition to Bellevue and I'm excited to try more of their menu in the feature. read more

Went with a big group of family who love sushi. I was just hoping they would have something for me considering I don't eat sushi. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken which was delicious, no complaints. She presented a heartfelt apology and thoughtfully & respectfully offered to right the wrong. She more than made it right. Her message suggested she'd personally see to it that the order was remade (correctly) at a future date. After a little discussion, we called back to give Sunisha and Kaiyo the opportunity and we were not disappointed. Every specific part of the order was perfect. She also added a gift card on top of the personal attention to the order.
