Nice quiet place and good food! Been here several times with my dad since I discovered it. We both enjoy their food and they have good service too

It has been a while since we've dined here. They've added a few new items on their menu, but the sushi has been the significant change from before. I've always been a fan of their Mongolian Beef and am glad to say that it's still as good as I remember it. There's a little hint of sweetness in the sauce that just for my liking. I highly recommend it. Note that the Mongolian beef is not listed on their lunch menu/specials, but you can definitely order it. This comes with your choice of soup (hot & sour or egg drop), but wished that soup is hotter (temperature wise) than the barely warm temp they serve you. They have a good selection of sushi with wholesale pricing, but I wasn't exactly wowed with the taste and the presentation. Overall, glad to know that Jade Palace is still a great dining option for folks looking for a change of pace while in the Bellevue area.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is clean, tidy and they are always super nice! I sat down and was asked for my drink order immediately (Pepsi products). I ordered the lunch combo which comes with a main dish, fried or steamed rice, soup choice, an egg roll and a crab Rangoon. I scarfed it before the pic, sorry! I added my Diet Pepsi and the total was $12.31. As you can see, this is going to feed me 3x! The food was good! Just enough spice today, because heartburn is a beast! You could get it kicked up. I will order extra chicken next time for more preteen because this dish was heavy on carrots and light on chicken. (Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce, add snow peas). Service was excellent!! They were attentive without being up in your business. I will return with hubby to try the curry, next!

This is one of the best Chinese meals I had in a long time. Not pictured, I had the general chicken. Highly recommend. The hot and sour soup was amazing. I really enjoyed the crab rangoons, yum. I rate the entire experience an 8.9 out of 10. I will be back.

They are very nice, prices have skyrocketed. They used to have sushi, and edamame. The waits are horrendous. Shinkflation FOR REAL.

The only rough spot is that it's quite popular. One must arrive early or call to find out when the next wave of diners might be departing. The staff. From greeting to departure, we have felt welcome and appreciated. Not sucked-up-to. Appreciated. It's like they dig what they're doing. Feels great. This is doubly true for us when dining at the bar. We had a great conversation with the gent serving, and enjoyed him nearly as much as the meal. The fish. So fresh. So tasty. Soft. Perfectly cut. Mmm. Parking is pretty simple. Plenty of space behind the building. Chill neighborhood, too. Felt quite safe. At some point, I need to try some of the many other types of Japanese cuisine, Chinese cuisine, and Thai cuisine. This place makes me wish I lived in Bellevue.

They also have a pretty wide menu beyond sushi, including Thai and Chinese dishes, which is a nice if you're dining with people who want something different. The only downside for us is the location- it's a bit of a drive from where we are. Otherwise, we'd probably find ourselves going more often.

We finally made it to Koen, and had a great time. The tabletop grilling makes dinner feel like an…read moreexperience rather than just a meal, and it's the kind of place that's fun for a date night or dinner with friends. We ordered the Koen Sapporo and Koen Kirin sets, then added the Crown Ribeye to share. Both meals came with miso soup, salad, rice, and a variety of meats, so it was a great way to sample a little bit of everything but not go for the full premium set. The miso soup was a great way to start the meal. It was warm, comforting, though it cooled down pretty quickly, so I'd recommend finishing it before you get distracted by the grill. The house salad came with a carrot ginger dressing that I really enjoyed. It was fresh and flavorful, but surprisingly sweet. I loved the taste, though by the end of the small bowl it became a little sweet for me. One fun surprise was the beef gyoza. I'm much more accustomed to chicken gyoza, so it was nice to try something different. As for the grill, the Toro Beef was the standout. We piled it over our rice and ended up with a delicious little donburi bowl that was easily my favorite bite of the night. The Top Sirloin, Chicken Bulgogi, and Yaki-Shabu Beef were all enjoyable as well. The only downside was that the Spicy Pork Belly and the Crown Ribeye were a bit difficult to eat without knives. We managed, but those thicker cuts would have been much easier to enjoy if we could have cut them into smaller bites. We did have meat scissors but it was a little uncomfortable sharing. I also ordered the salmon nigiri, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'd put it right up there with Blue Sushi in terms of quality. The slices of salmon were incredibly generous, actually larger than the rice, which wasn't quite my preferred balance, but I'd much rather have too much fish than too little. Since I was the only one ordering sushi, our table didn't have chopsticks or soy sauce dishes, though we also never thought to ask for them either. To drink, I had the red sangria, and it was packed with fresh fruit, which I absolutely loved. I ended up ordering a second because it was so refreshing. They're definitely more of a flavorful, easy-drinking sangria than a particularly strong cocktail, but that's exactly what I was in the mood for. Our server did an excellent job. They explained how everything worked, checked on us frequently without hovering, and made the experience feel approachable for first-time diners. Overall, Koen is somewhere I'd happily return. The grill is half the fun, the Toro Beef alone is worth ordering again, and the service made the experience even better. If it's your first visit, my biggest tips are to enjoy your soup before it cools, don't skip the Toro Beef over rice, and if you're ordering thicker cuts like the ribeye, don't be shy about asking for a knife.

I'd prefer if it was just plain. But I do think it said on the menu they would be marinated. The kimchi is way spicier than any other kimchi I've had. Most of the banchan was spicier than I'm used to. The chocolate-martini drink was so yummy. It just tasted like chocolate milk. You have to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the entrance to the restaurant, and it's right above a dispensary, so it smelled a bit like weed at the entrance. Our server was great. The seating host did give us a classic gen-z stare and he didn't move his arms when he walked. Just a fun fact. It didn't affect our meal or experience. If anything it gave us something to giggle about. Overall an ok experience. Minus the cigarette taste, but I think that's just a me problem.
