Really good sushi and the vibe is very cute and clean. They don't have as many options as their downtown location but the stuff they do have is really good! their dollar sushi is definitely worth it and all the pieces are so good, i'd recommend the sampler find you favorites. I really like the all of them but my favorite are creamy, coco and spicy crab. For regular rolls if recommend the Chicago roll or the white dragon. Located in a very convenient spot on campus, it's a great place to come in for a quick lunch. They designed this restaurant as a fast food style spot where you can order at the counter or self-service kiosks, take a number to your table, and have your food brought out to you fairly quickly. The only thing is they are really pricey for what you get. I would imagine this spot is too expensive for college students to eat often. Also, they don't have a lot of options. Portion size is on the smaller side. For the price, I would most likely choose to eat elsewhere. It's convenient, yes. Amazing, not really. This is a great place if you're looking for some Asian fusion and easy and quick. Their udon stir fries are DELICIOUS, I recommend a medium spice with shrimp. Ko Fusion is for the students and by the students. It's conveniently located right next to an apartment complex on campus and its employees are composed of college students. The whole environment exudes a very simple and clean style. The food is quite fantastic. The stir fry is superb and the sushi is delicious. Its major fault is that it's definitely too expensive. The specialty rolls go from $13-$15 for 8 rolls and the rolls are smaller than other sushi places. However, they have a unique "create your own sushi" menu item for $9 for 8 rolls. I'll be very happy to still frequent KoFusion! I'm so sad to leave this review. KoFusion has been one of my favorites for awhile. I will miss it terribly. Let me start by saying that I am incredibly patient and generous especially during the COVID-19 crisis. I gladly wait longer, I'm extra friendly, I tip much higher than usual (and I've never been a stingy tipper). This last week I had a spinal procedure done which has me in heightened pain and unable to walk even short distances. I was so excited to see that KoFusion on campus was offering curbside pickup. They're near my office and I go there whenever I get a sushi craving. I placed my order and verified the curbside pickup instructions. When I arrived at the stated time, I parked where I was instructed and called the number that the instructions said to do. I had to go through a couple automated prompts but then reached an employee inside the restaurant. I said that I was there to pickup curbside for "my name". He said "Oh yeah, just come inside and pick it up." I explained that I had specifically chose curbside so I wouldn't have to walk inside. He said "There's a table in here that the orders are on. Just come in real quick and grab it." I didn't feel like arguing would help so I got out of the car and walked to the doors right by the specified parking which is also the door I would normally use when I pick up lunch. It was locked. So I had to go around the building, deal with steps, and then go inside on that side and get my order. It was packaged nicely, and of course it was delicious as always. That's why I'm giving this review 2 stars instead of 1. I know it sounds silly to be complaining about having to walk less than a block to get my food. The point is I specifically ordered from a place that offered curbside so I wouldn't have to strain my spine and legs. I was very disappointed by the way it was handled. read more

Ko Fusion is on my daily walk home from class and as a recently self-proclaimed sushi fan, I had to try it out. The $0.80/piece Hooked deal was the perfect excuse to get take-out on a weekday! It's really clean on the inside and the décor was spot on for a quick-service campus place like this. I decided to get one of everything and doubled up on a couple that I thought sounded good to fulfill the 10 piece limit on the Hooked deal. It was hard to tell which one was which on my plate, so I'll just say that I know for sure the Big, Popper, and Coconut stuck out the most to me. I felt the Cali was a bit lacking/plain and in general the rolls labeled "spicy" on the menu had little to no kick to them. I couldn't seem to pick up the jalapeno in any of the pieces either, maybe it was accidently omitted? The people behind the counter are more than likely students and were very pleasant. I would say that it does seem to be a little overpriced due to the pieces being considerably smaller than the rolls I'm used to, both in physical size and the amount of fish versus rice. Do not get me wrong though, it is definitely a good option with the Hooked discounts, and would be a relaxing atmosphere to bring a virgin sushi friend to try it for the first time, since they could just order the sample pieces. We just left Kofusion an hour ago. My family have been regular customers at their Neill street location. Our first visit to their new location was a great disappointment. The service was extremely slow. The entres were poorly prepared. The meat in my beef stir fry was like chewing on a truck tire. I asked if I could have green onions in the stir fry and was told that no ingredients can be deleted or changed. Probably comes prepackaged now. The sushi was decent though. 3 out of the 6 of us did not eat our entres. We left the restaurant hungry after paying $350.00 for poorly prepared meals. High end Korean cuisine - think not. Excellent Korean food number hana. Kofusion now number 10. And the sign outside says Korean BBQ, of which there is none. read more

During the pandemic we've been doing carry out only though the dining room is now open. The quality has been spotty. Big rolls used to be my favorite sushi but they no longer have the great taste as before. I'm also a big fan of Spicy Korean Chicken but today we got that and one of the chicken pieces was as hard as a brick. (You now get three pieces. Before they were giving out four. And the amount of barbecue sauce you now get is minimal. You definitely need to pay for extra sauce.) I enjoy their dollar menu and it was nice to get the Sampler so I could try one of each. The sushi is pretty good, not the best in town, but they do interesting flavor and texture combinations. For example, the Poppers have a crunchy outside and cream cheese inside. The biggest downside is my plate didn't come with any ginger, as that would've helped me enjoy the Sampler platter more. The ambiance is trendy and cool. I also like that they advertise the Hooked app, which reminded me to get a $2 discount (always nice to save a little money). They constantly change their portion sizes on the stir fry and Spicy Korean Chicken! I've seen them skimp so much protein from the stir fry and charge top dollar for them! I ordered Chicago rolls (seared-tuna and/or salmon with cream cheese, crab meat stick, nori komi furikake, and spicy sauce). I went there at 4pm, so the place wasn't that busy. My friend got the food so quickly, but I'd been waiting for around 15 minutes, so I asked the waitress (the one who actually got my order), and it turned out that she served my dish to a table next to mine. She suddenly took the plate from the other table to me and said that they hadn't touched it yet before rushing away. The slices of fish on top of the rolls were unacceptably thin for the price of $16.45 for 8 pieces. The taste was fine, but I think Sakanaya might be a better place for sushi. read more

They campus-ified the champaign kofusion. There is a build your own stir fry, a 6 piece $ sushi sampler, build your own sushi and 3-4 sushi rolls. The restaurant is very casual - you go to the counter to order, get a number for your table and they will bring the food out to you. Speaking of casual the music is very weird - distractingly so. Honestly, it is too expensive for what it is. I had the tempura ($10) and it was more deep fried than tempura. The $ sushi sampler was okay, but will get worn very fast (a little like the champaign $ sushi that gets boring after a while) and the sushi roll was more mayo than fish for $14. Honestly, the sushi I had from here was just okay. It's good if you want something quick or need it delivered (check out the delivery company Order Up), but otherwise I much prefer Sakanaya for sushi. The $1 bites are a cool concept but a lot of them just have cream cheese and stuff in them. Also, at $14 for a rainbow roll, the prices weren't very competitive. You also can customize your order to your liking, up to what spice levels you want on your food. The foods I have tried here are: Chicken Stir Fry, Chicken Curry, Spicy Korean Chicken, Vegetable Dumplings, and Tempura Vegetables. The fact this restaurant offers many options with both curry and stir fry should show how much variety it has.
