Meh. As other reviewers have stated, prices are exorbitant. Some things that aren't listed will leave you feeling like you are back in India haggling over prices. Sari prices are 4 times higher than anyone can imagine. A lot of their clothes are extremely overpriced. I can't imagine the overhead cost for that place is that expensive. As for quality, a lot of the items that are already overpriced are diminished even further by the quality of stitching. The owner seems civil, but seems keen on getting a sale. If you need something from India I would say order offline. The quality and the price for a lot of the items are crazy high. Also the fact that you can negotiate prices makes me wonder how they are so high in the first place. Otherwise it's not a horrible place to look, as for pricing, it is wayyyyyy higher than it should be. read more

We ventured into Kalashri in search of a carrom board. What we found are tons of murtis (idols) of Hindu gods, clothing, most of which was terribly expensive and marked hundreds of dollars above the price of these goods in India. Sarees are $200+. Blouses that should be $20 are priced at $50+. Casual dresses in cute Indian prints are priced well beyond my price points. I figure I'll just buy all these things in India and bring them back, saving hundreds of dollars. There is a lot of jewelry on the counter, bangles and earrings, pendants and necklaces. Most of the jewelry I also found to be expensive. The carrom board? As compared with the carrom boards available sporadically at Triangle India Market and VGS, the carrom board available at Kalashri is $40 to $50 more in price. While it is a nice carrom board, it is certainly a pricey game, when you consider that you can buy a decent cricket bat or a Wii for $50 more. We're still looking for a great little Indian bazaar. I think the previous reviewer missed the economics of the situation. Yes, a saree here may run about $200, considerably more expensive than in India. However, factoring in the air fare to India, it's relatively a bargain to shop here if you happen to be in NC. The quality of their garments is quite good, and they have a wide selection. Liked it But very EXPENSIVE I bought 3 chuddithaars here. The dress is good and gives a grand look. But it is very very very expensive. My 3 chuddithaars are $180, $190 and $110. My husband have taken 2 dresses from this shop and gave for birthday as a surprise gift. As it is a gift, he havent told me anything about the price. The dress was looking so beautiful and i loved it. But for a special occasion when i asked him to bring me there, i was really shocked of looking the price of each dresses. After inquiring to my hubby got to know the price. I loved the dress collections they got but we cannot afford such cost for 1 chuddithar. Also they have got few Kurtha collection which i will never recommend to anyone. They dont look so good but the cost is $50 and above. It's little bit ok to give such cost to chuddithar for its look but never for a low quality plain kurtha. I can recommend this shop but look for ur finance also... :) read more

A few positives is the place is heavily stocked with many styles of Indian clothing and the owner/staff were willing to help and answer questions. I came in looking for an Anarkali style dress, but a lot of the styles for this seemed a bit outdated and the really fancy ones were 200+. I saw a style I really liked and asked for the price, she quoted me 400! That is way too high even for such a heavy piece, I have a lot of experience with Indian clothing. read more

I have been searching for an Indian store for quite some time now. I have been to various store in the cary area and didn't quite like the price and style of clothing. I found Kalashri by accident one day. They have everything you can think of from India. And their prices no one else can beat. They have beautiful suites for $30 and saree also. and they have wonder summer dresses and tunic for under $15. i love this store they have great stuff and their prices will not make you feel bad about spending. I shop here all the time now and I bring all my friends and they love it read more

My wife went in there and she liked it. The prices of sarees were cheaper compared to other store she went to. I know these sarees are much cheaper in India (or Bangladesh, where we are from), but here in US, its different. We were satisfied with this store. read more
