It is a large store (formerly a Stein Mart) that provides booths for local entrepreneurs to rent to sell their products. I don't particularly enjoy shopping, however, this boutique conglomerate is way cooler than I thought it would be. I needed a last minute gift and this was the closest boutique open on a Sunday. Painted tree provides a space for numerous boutiques to display and sell their items. The boutiques are neatly organized and their names displayed. Prices vary, often being very reasonable. Some boutiques share their website information as a place to find additional products. It was easy to find a gift here. If we were not pressed for time, I would have stayed longer to visit all the boutiques. Check-out was a little slow. The employees working the check out counter were friendly and helpful. This is a great idea for artists and individuals to show their craft and wares. There is a bit of repeats but there is also a lot of unique finds.. I would say the only factor that keeps me from shopping there is the 48 hour return policy.. almost impossible to meet that deadline especially during the Christmas season.. Honestly, no matter how hard we try, we do not always get the gifting exactly right. I would suggest that they at the least offer a store credit. Then a receiver of said not quite right gift could chose something else . I realize it could be a pain from a book keeping standpoint however, anything other than no after 48 hours would be welcome . This is a cool place. It's kind of like an indoor craft fair with everything from clothes, art, toys, food, and more. Seems like a great thing for small businesses to have their own space without renting a huge building on their own. read more

There are over 100 booths and each one is individually owned and sell their own items, everything from home decor, handmade items, candles, art supplies, clothing, soaps and food. A wide range of price points but there is something for everyone. Many unique items here and a great way to shop small while still having good variety. You probably won't make it through it all in one visit unless you're walking quickly, but I'd start by going to the right and go down aisle H first and then work your way through as much as you can! Everything can be paid for at once at the front desk. Grab a cart even if you think you don't need it. They are open 10-8pm every day. read more

This store is SO COOL! I honestly didn't really know what to expect, but it was beyond what I ever could have imagined. There are what seems like endless booths of local businesses ranging from clothing, home decor, bath and body, healing crystals, and men's stuff (themed hot sauce, coffee, decor). LOVE this store. Great place to gift shop or look for cute clothes or home decor/furniture. Definitely takes an hour or so to walk the entire thing. This is a cool space. It's just like holiday market. Basically sellers have a space in the store with their products (crafts, baked goods, clothes, jewelry, art work), and it gives buyers time to browse the store without feeling any pressure to talk to the sales person for the booth. There may be times when booths have sales people but the beauty is they don't have to be. It's definitely a good spot to hang out and meet up with your girlfriends and spend a few hours looking and chatting and having a good time! read more

BEWARE! Their return policy is 14 DAYS! If you buy a gift for someone they only have 14 days after YOUR purchase to return it! The sign says "RETURNS ACCEPTED" but you are only told about the 14 DAY LIMIT at check out. So spend lots of time finding something and then realize you only have 14 days to return so if your friend's gift doesn't work out they better get over there like NOW! If you are sure your purchase is just what you want they have a huge selection. read more

This is a vendor feedback of bad experience doing business with Painted Tree. As a customer, I love this shop however as a vendor, it has been an awful experience for my small business which is local & based in Apex, NC. I was so excited to get started as a vendor back in February. My paperwork was done and I was allocated a space, however I got overbooked twice. I was given a space first which was apparently booked & occupied. Then, they allocated another space, and I was sick so I was late by two weeks to go there and setup my shop. They had regularly charged my credit card for the rental space where I also paid the deposit back in February. After getting the second space, I had notified the team that I am delayed due to medical emergency. Now when I was ready & went there to setup, I find that another vendor has occupied my space for which I am paying the rental. I worked with their sales team to get this resolved who initially promised me a better option in same price and eventually offered me a space double the price. I couldn't agree for the price as that's not what I had signed up for. It has been a waste of time & stressful experience where I purchased some clothing racks to setup my space. I lost money on those purchases as well. They finally refunded my my money this week after persistent follow-up. Hard to believe that they help small businesses who are local. I hope other vendors have better experience there. read more
