First time here and definitely won't be the last. Loving the ambiance and how it's divided into cozy lounge seating as you walked in, counter and bar seating in the middle and towards the back with your usual dining tables etc. We chose the dining area. QR code available on each table so you can order and your order will be coming straight up. My order of shakshouka and violet latte was delicious. My friend had caramel latte and chicken waffles, which she said was also great. Would love to come back trying other items on menu.

The food at Kaldi Social house is on point for anything you can think about for breakfast whether it's a light pastry or a huge omelette they have got you covered. You will order via a QPR at your table. The food comes out fresh and hot and delivered in a very cheerful manner. Whether you are there for a quick grab and go or bringing the laptop for an extended stay - very nice surroundings

A very great place to work or study! There is a long bar table with outlets. Their menu has a little something for everyone. Very cozy for work.

I stopped by Kaldis for a work from home day while I was in the area running errands. Parking can be a bit tricky since it is in downtown Silver Spring, but there is a garage within walking distance which made it manageable. The ambiance was really inviting, and I learned that on weekends it even turns into a rooftop nightlife spot. Service was quick and accurate, which I appreciated while getting work done. The food was tasty and well prepared, and it did exactly what I needed it to do. I would definitely come back if I am in the area.

Kaldi's is definitely one of my favorite coffeeshops. It's pretty spacious, but there have been many times I wasn't able to find a seat, especially on weekends. I've never been disappointed by the food and drinks. They give you a pretty decent amount of food, so I'll say it's worth the price. I used to come here for happy hour and their upstairs lounge back in the day, but I'm not sure that still goes on. I remember the drinks being a pretty reasonable price as well.

Went to Kaldi's for brunch and was truly satisfied with everything. My iced coffee was delicious and the breakfast sandwich was simple but tasty. Potatoes were seasoned to perfection. Good place for remote work as well.

I can here on a whim and man it was so great! I got the shashuka and wow, it was so good! I got their apple butter latte and it was really well done however I think I just didn't like the flavor of it personally but it doesn't mean that it wasn't Not well done! I will just choose a different flavor next time! The place was super crowded and it was a hip survive, which I really loved! They have a ton of seating at this location! It is honestly probably one of the biggest coffee shops I've been to in this area! The service was good. For how crowded they were. They made the stuff super fast.!!

I love Kaldi's! Such a great atmosphere for small meetings, studying/work, or even a date. I have been periodically going for years, but finally decided I should review because I forgot how delicious the breakfast sandwich is! I'm a pescatarian so I got it without any meat, but it was so good even without. I think it's the crisp of the cheese. I also got the strawberry fields smoothie- love the fresh strawberry topping and the slight thickness from the almond butter. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to the wait being a little long (but reasonable) and for the upcharge if I had gotten plant-based meat...but again, the sandwich was delicious as is!

In town from San Francisco and decided to walk to Kaldi's to grab a late breakfast. Wanted something healthyish so got an Açaí bowl which was huge and delicious. I like the way the toppings were separated out. Also had an amazing caramel macchiato as well. Great service too!

We came here with our friend and our baby. It is such a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy coffee/ tea and some good food. The atmosphere is amazing. We came here for brunch and I ordered chicken and waffle, a croissant, a zucchini bread. Everything is quite delicious. My husband got an açaí bowl and he loves it very much. I would definitely come back again to try more bakery goods. There is a phone ordering service which is so convenient. I cannot wait til our next meet up with friends here :)

I saw this place while walking and wanted to try it. Self-seating was easy, as was the placement of the QR code. Went with two children (15, 11) and they enjoyed the food and the ability to relax and have great conversations at our table. Service was quick from the time we placed the order. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back.

I decided to have a breakfast affair while visiting, and instead of going to Parkway Deli I elected to have a meal at Kaldi's. The space is very hipster but in the best ways possible. Ordering is through a QR on the table. Service was pleasant. The staff was efficient. My over easy egg was more of an over hard than easy, but the food was delicious overall. The dirty chai was divine. Glad I stopped in. Parkway will always be bae, but if I need variety this place is where I'll go.

Ask the Community - Kaldi's Social House

Are you open for indoor sitting?

As of 2023/2024 at least, yes!

    Is there outdoor seating?

I was there this morning. Only two large mesh metal tables, but lots of chairs. If you're not COVID phobic, then be prepared to share. There were four separate groups sharing the space this morning. Nobody minding.

Can you please update your Yelp to reflect the fact that this location is closed?

Not closed but no indoor dining until mid June. Right now it's just beverages and pastries to go..

    When does happy hour end?

Happy Hour ends at 7 pm on weekdays (rooftop only).

Do they have tv's to watch the NBA finals?

    Yes!

    Are walk-ins allowed for brunch?

    Yes

What time does hookah start and is it only on the rooftop?

Hi. It's only offered on the rooftop-- upstairs portion of the place. It starts most evenings at 5pm - until; not sure about weekends. By the way, the rooftop is open year round -- also during the winter and is heated.

    What's the WiFi password?

    "Askthemanager2019"

    Are you open now?

    Yes

What time the does the club scene start? Is there a fee to get in? If so how much?

There's usually an event most nights of the week. Wednesdays are salsa nights and Thursdays are afro beats. Happy hour is from 4 to 8 and the place starts getting crowded around 9 or so. On weekends there's a $10 cover I believe.

What time does the Roof open?

    2pm

Does the lower patio have waiter service? Also, WiFi on patio? And dogs allowed?

Sorta. You'll have to place the order at the register and they'll bring it out to you. Wi-Fi may reach the patio and dogs are allowed on the lower patio.

What time does happy hour start?

    4 pm

I was told this charge does not go to the waiter but is instead shared with other staff (busser, host, etc.), and that customers are expected to leave an additional tip for the server. I initially left a 20% tip because I did not notice the automatic 18% service charge. To make matters worse, I was initially given the wrong receipt, which added to the confusion. When I realized the service charge had already been included and asked for the extra tip to be removed, the waiter told me he does not receive any portion of the 18% charge. I asked whether the expectation was for customers to leave a total of 38%, and I was told that is how it works at this restaurant and in Washington DC. I found the billing and tipping process confusing and misleading. I won't be back.

Our server was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and he made sure we had everything we needed. Even though it was a busy weekend lunchtime, the service was surprisingly quick and attentive. I ordered a Kir Royale, which was refreshing and well-balanced, while the chai latte was also delicious. My partner and I both ordered Eggs Benedict--one with smoked salmon and the other with braised short rib. The English muffin base was warm, fluffy, and lightly toasted. The hollandaise was velvety with a hint of pepper and almost reminded me of a cacio e pepe sauce. The generous portion of salty smoked salmon paired really well with the runny egg. The small side salad was also a nice touch and helped cleanse the palate between bites of the rich Benedict. We also shared the Brown Sugar Crème Brûlée, which was a small portion but delightful and the perfect way to finish the meal. Since it was my birthday, I also received a scoop of ice cream, which was such a thoughtful touch. Overall, I'm so glad I chose this place for my birthday brunch. I had a wonderful experience and would love to come back and try some of their other dishes!

Dear Restaurant Owner,…read more My husband and I had been looking forward to dining at your restaurant for quite some time and finally had the opportunity to visit on Tuesday, June 2, before attending a concert nearby at 8:00 PM. We arrived at approximately 6:45 PM, were seated promptly, and were greeted by our server, Anna. She was pleasant; however, the service we received throughout the evening was extremely disappointing. We ordered drinks to start. My husband ordered a beer, and I ordered a rosé prosecco. When my drink arrived, it was visibly flat. I tasted it anyway and found it to be both warm and lacking carbonation. When I brought this to Anna's attention, she responded, "I noticed it looked flat too; I'll get you another one." Frankly, this was concerning. If she noticed the drink was not of acceptable quality, it should never have been served to a customer in the first place. We then ordered the mussels appetizer, which was excellent and one of the highlights of our visit. Shortly afterward, I ordered the swordfish special, and my husband ordered the shrimp po' boy. Neither dish would typically require an unusually long preparation time. Unfortunately, what followed was nearly an hour of waiting with no communication. Anna never checked on the status of our meals, nor did she provide any updates. Meanwhile, we watched multiple tables who were seated after us receive their food and complete their meals. By 7:45 PM, with our concert approaching, my husband suggested that we ask for our meals to be packed to go. It quickly became apparent that our entrees had not even been prepared. When Anna finally returned, she told us it would be "another five minutes," indicating that our meals had not yet been cooked despite being ordered nearly an hour earlier. At that point, we had no choice but to take the food to go so that we would not miss our concert. As a result, we ended up eating cold food later that evening. What made the experience particularly disappointing was that we had genuinely been excited to visit your restaurant. We had heard good things and were looking forward to a memorable dinner before our evening out. Instead, we left feeling overlooked and wondering what we had done to warrant such poor service and lack of attention. To my surprise, my husband--who is incredibly kind and non-confrontational--still left Anna a 20% tip, despite the fact that the service did not merit it. I am writing not to seek anything in return, but simply to make you aware of our experience. The quality of the mussels showed us that your kitchen is capable of producing excellent food. Unfortunately, the service and lack of communication overshadowed what should have been a wonderful evening. Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. I hope it helps prevent future guests from having a similar experience. t

We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, which were rich and flavorful, followed by the Grand Marnier Society Wings--a standout appetizer with a great balance of sweet and savory flavors. The Mac & Cheese was creamy and made for the perfect side. For our entrées, we ordered the Calypso Pan Seared Branzino and the Coconut Curry Snapper. Both dishes were served with vegetables of the day, rice and peas, and sweet plantains, creating a well-rounded and satisfying meal. The seafood was cooked well, and the Caribbean-inspired flavors added a unique twist to each dish. For drinks, we enjoyed The Pearl, the Lavender French 75, The Golden Hour, and an Old Fashioned. Each cocktail was well-crafted and paired nicely with the menu. We finished with the Warm Cookie Skillet, topped with vanilla bean ice cream and a caramel drizzle. It arrived warm, gooey, and was the perfect dessert to share. For starters, we got the New England Clam Chowder and an order of Chickpea Fries. New England Clam Chowder - definitely a chowder and not a soup (heavy cream base) with a nice flavor and a healthy amount of clam bits. Chickpea Fries - A nice portion of well prepared fries. Nice crunch on the outside, but moist on the inside. Well seasoned and not oily. Comes with ketchup and an avocado lime ranch, which was ok. It's a huge portion and we took most of it home to enjoy later. Good use of chickpeas. Branzino - This is a whole fish split in half. Pretty easy to remove the bones oneself. The skin was nice and crunchy with the meat inside moist. Well prepared. I'm not a huge fan of dill and I think the seasoning of dill is a bit overdone here. (I'm pretty sure it's dill. Whatever it is, it's too heavy for me and detracts from the meal.). The wild rice side dish is very good. Lobster Roll - Excellent. My partner ordered this and the only comment was that the large was very big and next time they likely would get the small one. Lots of delicious, cold lobster meat. The fries also were excellent. The service overall was very good. Our food was served at an appropriate rate (apps, then main, which seems not to be important at a lot of restaurants these days) and the water service was excellent. Recommend this restaurant. I probably would not get the Branzino again because of the heavy dill seasoning, but there are other items in the menu that look interesting.
