A good brunch place that happens to be kosher. I recently went with a party of four and we were able to get seats immediately despite Cafe K having several families there already. The service was great and the owners were very engaged and attentive. Cafe K's prices are in-line with DC-area brunch spots. I got a coffee and the avocado and cheese-stuffed croissant. The coffee was flavorful and the croissant sandwich was rich and buttery, but could have used a bit more flavor. I would recommend Cafe K for your next brunch! read more

Great addition to the neighborhood. I went on a Sunday. They were packed inside and out. Bagels are much cheaper here ($1.35) than at Einstein Bagel. I got bagels to go and a chocolate croissant for breakfast the next day. Bagels are great, and so was my croissant that I am not sure they make here. The counter girl was really sweet and inviting. I'll have to come earlier next time if I want a seat, so maybe in the fall when the weather is cooler. It's kosher which is great for the community hence the reason they are closed on Saturdays. read more

The food is really well done. I got the eggs Benedict with the sweet potato and the avocado. I did not realize those were the topping options I thought they were the sides for some reason. In the future I'd probably get both Avocado as that is probably the best bang for the buck. I did feel it was a little expensive for two poached eggs on bread, but I did enjoy it. Next time I need to try the shakshuka which I do see lots of people getting. The service is very good and they greet you with a smile. Cafe K may look like a modest little deli, but don't be deceived: the food here is superb. The bagels are real bagels - not round bread with hole in it. BAGELS. So fresh you can't bear to toast it. The croissants have just the right amount of butter so as to be light and substantial at the same time. I was particularly enamored of the chocolate croissant, but plain is also really good. That's all I have managed to taste so far, but rest assured I will be back, eager to make my way down the menu. read more

Service started off well for the first 5 minutes but then our server forgot about us, leaving us sitting for over 15 minutes while a table that came in way after us was served and left before us. Which would be fine, if the food was actually good. The pancakes texture was AMAZING but the taste was a 1/10. It was like... flavorless bread. This restaurant has tremendous potential. However the management:owner seriously needs to consider hiring restaurant consultant to improve the efficiency of their operations. Cafe K has a lovely, friendly and welcoming Staff (who were constantly apologizing) and the food was tasty. BUT, service was terrible. Staff seemed to be running all over the place trying (but failing) to keep things organized. They all looked exhausted. It took more than 15 minutes to get a menu. We finally flagged someone down to take our order and the food took almost 45 minutes to arrive. We had to flag down another person to pay our bill. We had different waitstaff to take our orders, bring our food and to take our payment-we never saw the same person twice. Please consider this review to be constructive criticism. Ummm NO!!! $19 for a full breakfast which consists of 2 eggs four small pieces of toast cut from a loaf (and I do mean small), fresh creme to go with what exactly? hummus to again go with what?? and butter for the toast. So I paid $20 for bread and eggs?? I saw no cheese on my eggs!!! UGHHHHH!! No dressing on the "herbs" salad!! Complete rip off. No meat!?!? The only reason I stopped in was due to getting turned around and seeing this spot. Walked in and it smelled amazing but um do better with this menu. Very disappointed. :( read more

Went there early February for friends birthday dinner. Out of almost 30 of us, I never received my dinner order. I waited all evening and my dish never came out despite waiting staff assuring me it was on its way. Towards the end they even asked me if I'd want it to go. Ridiculous. They should have given it to me for free at that point while everyone was eating there desserts and leaving. I was there 2.5 hours and decided to leave near closing since my baked ziti entree never came out. I didn't want to be charged anything so just took off as everyone was leaving. Horrible service. Excellent service. Food was tasty, especially the shakshuka (omelet). Delicious Nagadi coffee. A solid amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Décor was solid for a cafe. Menu had a good variety of items. A few blocks from Silver Spring, Metro and on the edge of downtown Silver Spring. read more

My first time here. We came with a group for brunch. This place was packed! They have a very substantial menu, with many good choices. Service was a little slow, but it was understandable due to the large crowd. There were people complaining about the service but everything seemed well-handled.
