The community…read moredefinitely takes advantage of all the programs/events that the Y has to offer, so it's nice that it's so appealing to the eye. They're currently hosting the "Corporate Challenge" events, which are so fun because, as small town things go, you typically know everyone and their brother that are involved. Pretty sure they were hosting the checkers tournament earlier today. haha They have a large room for dance, tumbling, Zumba, etc., that fortunately has huge windows that give the room amazing natural light. The place offers up a basketball court, weights, walking/running track, a good variety of exercise equipment and an area for childcare. With Winchester being my hometown, it makes my heart happy that they've taken such pride in this building. Health and community involvement are important and the Y allows those two things to easily come together.

That being said, you do need to watch young children because Escapades is not a babysitting service. You can think you are the best parent ever and then find your older child in the baby area or climbing on the outside of the equipment anyway, just because someone else's child had the idea and yours thought hey, why not? There is always risk of injury at any playground and the staff at Escapades are extremely busy checking kids in, making food, and taking care of the arcade in addition to cleaning up the messes so many people leave behind. From the cardio to the weights, the daily "workout" person has plenty of options. And for those interested in other activities, there is a gym (flex) that I've seen basketball, volleyball, and of course lots of pickleball played in. Plus, there is a sweet gymnastics area and a cheer program! If you are into tennis, the facility is top notch, plus they have 3 tennis courts that serve a dual purpose, so there are 6 painted pickleball court lines on them for those that prefer a tennis surface.
