I came here for an hour Swedish massage and had Debbie as my masseuse! She was absolutely phenomenal and I left feeling so refreshed. I had a lot of upper back and shoulder knots and in just an hour I felt like a lot were worked out. The music was calming and the massage bed was very comfortable as well. Plentiful free parking which is great and I just checked in at the front desk of the hair salon since they also do hair services. One small touch that could be added would be something like a warm tea being offered while you wait or after your service. I was offered water though which was great! Overall had an amazing experience and I will be saving up to have this again. read more

I am so frustrated with this place. I came in asking for visible, strong blonde highlights on my brunette hair, brought a reference photo, and was very clear about what I wanted. 4 hours later, my hair looked EXACTLY the same as it did when I walked in. I came in again because I was unhappy, and they tried to fix it, but it still came out looking very unprofessional, they didn't even get the color up to my roots, it looked nothing like the reference photo, and they still charged me more money. Lilly gave my daughter a terrible haircut right before she was due to start her freshman year in high school. It was so bad it almost seemed intentional. My daughter showed her a picture of the haircut she wanted and it looked nothing like the picture. She cut her bangs ridiculously short, and the haircut was terribly uneven. She was also supposed to diye it blonde but it came out a light brown color. My daughter's dyed, her hair blonde before and it's been almost platinum so it's not like her hair can't go blonde. I reached out to the salon via their contact us page and they never bothered to respond to me so clearly they don't care about customer service at all.. I brought her to another salon to try to get it fixed so that at least the sides would blend in with her short bangs. The stylist of the other salon showed me multiple places where it was terribly uneven. Avoid like the plague! read more

DO NOT GO HERE My daughter has gone to this salon a couple times and has gotten mediocre haircuts. BUT the last time (about May) she went here- she came home in tears. They mutilated her hair. Cutting it so choppy and uneven that it looked horrendous. We had to completely cut her hair ourselves. And to top it all of the stylist cut her hair inches shorter than what my daughter requested. The stylist finished her hair cut in 20 minutes (and my daughter has a lot of thick hair so it should at least take double that). The stylist was rushed and by the looks of the haircut just wanted to get out of there. She had just gotten off of maternity leave and couldn't stop talking about how she was going home to her baby after my daughters haircut, finishing it, (including washing, cutting, and styling) in about 20 minutes. read more

I came in here today for the first time ever and had a wonderful massage with Kim. I have to say this is probably the best massage I've ever had never have I left a massage table where I stood up and felt like every ache and pain I came in with was gone. She was very attentive to my needs asked me if the pressure was okay at various times and other than that I just zoned out and relaxed my back feels amazing! I won't be back. I have used this place in the past but hadn't been back in the last year due to just busy life. I used to get cut & color for $130 out the door with their "master stylist". Anyway, this time I made appointment, they didn't inform me my regular stylist wasn't available. I got a different stylist, same work done, it turned out great like it has there in the past, but was shocked when I got to the counter and was told it would be $270 plus tip. Just about fainted. I booked a 90 minute massage this July and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately it fell short in many ways. The massage therapist was very nice. She was a bit late bringing me into the spa area, but asked quite a few questions about what I was looking for. Good start, however the massage itself was uninspired. It felt like she was going through the motions. The lights were rather bright, but acceptable. But little things became distracting. She raised and lowered the massage table a few times DURING the massage. The noise was rather startling and definitely killed the relaxation. She also moved a rolling chair around a lot, right near my head. She finally put hot towels on my feet at the end (they were very cold by then). None during the session itself. When the session was finished I noticed it had only gone for 60 minutes. Apparently she included the time I waited for her to get me and setting up the room in the 90 minutes. Not good! I have another spa I'll continue to use, as this just wasn't worth $125.00! read more

I tried this spot, because it was close to my house and I love Moroccan Oil and B&B hair care products. I asked for a "mid level" artist and at first glance, she did just fine. Except, I pointed out that I wanted a super blunt long bob and parted my hair on the side. She started to part my hair down the middle for the cut, I said again "I part my hair on the side." She said "don't worry this will make it even." Yes.... except now WHEN I PART MY HAIR ON THE SIDE, I have a 2.5" layer on the heavier side. The exact opposite of what I wanted. I've called and left messages for a manager to contact me so I can share this constructive feedback, without a returned call. Not a great cut, horrible customer service. I would have gone back to try a different stylist, but if no one wants to call me, I guess I'll go to one of the other 27 salons in the area. read more

While I loved my hair, it costed more as an overall color than it usually does for full balayage at other salons. It took my girl 3 hours to do a cut and color, and I wasn't told that it is an extra 30$ per bowl of extra color, I couldn't find anything on their website with prices of extra colors and when I originally asked for an estimate I was told $100 less than what I was charged, so I paid an extra 90$ just for extra colors. my hair was great but I feel like this is absurd. read more

I have been going to this salon about 3/4 times per year for about 5 years. I've had mostly good experiences but also a few of the concerns that other reviewers have mentioned - feeling rushed as the last customer, seemingly inexperienced colorists, etc. Last time I was there I had a terrible color experience. The stylist gave me exactly what I told her I didn't want. I was devastated when I got home so I called and they offered to fix it the next day for free. That's baseline customer service in my book but still nice. Aside from the unfortunate experience, I could sense a major change. Lots of new stylists, different dress code, and so much merchandise for sale. Not just salon product but jewelry, scarves, and other random accessories. Bummed to say that I think it's time for me to make a change too. read more

I went to Kalla Lily for the first time a week ago for a hair cut. I had Alicia as my stylist and she was fantastic! I have very tight curls and I am always very worried about getting my hair cut since stylists usually turn me into a triangle head. She walked me through the process of what she was going to do before actually doing it which was so refreshing to hear. She cut it dry first which is what I wanted and after washing it she added/fixed my layers. She even straightened it after. I have gone to a deva curl salon and had the same services done and at Kalla Lily it was 1/4 of the cost. I will be going here from now on. They provide a wide range of services (nails, waxing, massages) besides hair and even recently added blowouts. read more

I had an express pedicure and 30 minute massage here today and am still giddy about how great both services were. My nail service with Tina was really nice after a stressful drive in on icy winter roads. I'm extremely sensitive to people touching my nails and feet (it either tickles or hurts, it seems) but I didn't have a single squirmy moment with Tina, which showed her expertise and allowed me to actually enjoy a pedicure for once! To top it off, my nails looked perfect. I then was able to squeeze in a 30-minute massage with Katie. This is my new way to let my toes dry after a pedicure! I'm 9 months pregnant but the spa had the gear, and Katie had the skills, to accommodate me and give me a relaxing and effective massage. It. Was. Wonderful. The front desk staff and service providers were all really friendly, attentive and professional from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. I definitely received service that was worth what I paid and will be back again. The only reason I docked one star is because I couldn't find all of the service options on the online appointment tool (including the express pedicure) which was kind of annoying, and that nowhere in my confirmation emails did I notice it saying who my service would be with. read more

I had my first visit to the Kalla Lily salon last week, and I'm sad to say that the first visit will also be my last. The stylist I was scheduled with for 8pm was Jonlyn. She was running a little late, which didn't bother me at the time - until I realized that they close at 9pm. I have very thick hair and it usually takes around 45 minutes to over an hour to get it washed, cut, and styled - She was finished in about 25-30 minutes, just in time to close at 9. Needless to say, this is one of the worst hair cuts that I've ever had. The ends are way too blunt, the layers extremely uneven, and my bangs don't sit right, no matter what I try to do with them. She was in a rush to get out on time, and my hair shows it. I am very disappointed in the quality of service I received for the money spent. I'll definitely be going somewhere else for my next hair cut. read more

I recently got my hair colored and did the ombre hair style just to add a little color for the summer. I had a bad experience with a hair stylist a few years back and thought I would give Kalla Lily another try. However Heather my hair stylist left me under the dryer far too long and fried my hair! It is so dry and destroyed I don't even know what to do. I specifically requested someone who had more experience and was one of their top levels for quality of work and experience and now has destroyed my hair that I have been growing out for many years. This has never happened to me in my life and I have had my hair colored many times and a lot lighter than I had gone this time. I could not be more disappointed and upset after finally getting my hair to the length I have wanted it at for many years to come to find out it has been ruined.... :( read more

I have spent my fair share of time on a massage table and I am a huge fan of Kalla Lily Salon & Spa. The price is fair for the service you receive. I have had 5 massages at this particular location and each time I am just as impressed as the last. There is nothing like walking into a professional atmosphere, being greeted with a smile and escorted to a nice quiet dim comfortable waiting area to start the relaxing process before a massage. I have had the pleasure of having a masseuse each time that ensured I was comfortable and did not talk so much that it interrupted my ability to enjoy my time. Left with raven black hair (high maintenance), in tears, with no apology from the stylist or receptionist. Talked to the manager today who was awful and accusatory. I am a frequent patron of the hair salon. BUT am disappointed at how the salon had handled a purchase that caused me allergy. I called to inform them of the problem and they rejected any responsibility to refund. It was a VERY expensive mascara which cost $64.37. I told them that on the box it said 30 Days Money Guarantee. All they said was sorry because I didn't purchase that product directly from the mascara company. I remembered the front desk ladies were all over recommending the product to me. I had a terrible experience at Kalla Lily about 6 weeks ago. I went in to get some golden blonde highlights put in my light brown, shoulder length hair. After putting numerous foils in, the stylist put me under the dryer for a very long time. When she took them out, I realized she had stripped all the pigment out of my hair. She turned it into a combination of platinum white and shimmery silver-grey. It was horrendous. I'm in my 30's and she made me look 60. I kept waiting for some reaction either from her, or another salon worker, but none came. Have you ever noticed that the bigger their mistake is, the less they acknowledge it? I began to wonder if it was just weird lighting and that perhaps my hair wasn't really grey. So, I paid and left. Unfortunately, it was soon confirmed by numerous people that I indeed had grey-white hair. Two days later, I reluctantly went back to the same stylist and she put some permanent color over most of it. The result was a splotchy, muddy, orange-brown color with silver-grey streaks running through my hair and it had the texture of straw. It was hard to believe this came from one of their top level stylists. I had to seek out a color specialist at another salon to correct Kalla Lily's mess. Also, I recently had to get another recolor due to the damaged hair not holding pigment very well. So, here's what it all cost: Kalla Lily=$137, color correction elsewhere=$115, second recolor=$114 for a grand total of $366. My hair is now very short, a "pixie cut", because it was simply too damaged to keep. I spoke with one of K.Lily's co-owners to see if I could get my money refunded, but she said, "No, it's not their policy to give refunds". So, I'm out a lot of money due to their mistake. As a consumer, please learn from my misfortune and find out a salon's policy on refunds BEFORE you book an appointment. When dealing with chemicals, things can go very wrong. Hair can fall out, break off, be turned a bizarre color (i.e. green, purple, orange) or be stripped of all pigment and turned ghostly grey, such as mine. When you pay a professional to do your hair, you should get professional results. Salons that can guarantee their work, have work that's worth guaranteeing. If you choose Kalla Lily as your salon, you will assume all the risk; the gamble will be yours alone. So, just remember the number one rule of gambling, 'The house always wins!' read more

I had Heather as my stylist and I loved her! I went in without a sure plan if what I wanted to do. Heather did a great job of deciphering my ramblings into a GREAT hair cut! I knew I wanted to go a little shorter but I wanted layers but I didn't want my hair to look thin... Etc. She took everything I said and created a cut I really loved! I also have VERY sensitive skin and asked not to have extra products used and she was very nice about it and gave me great tips on how to use products in a way that it wouldn't irritate my skin (such as wrapping my hair into a bun before bed if I have lots of products in it to prevent my hair from laying against my face overnight and breaking me out). My mom and I raced to Kalla Lily at the end of the day Saturday to grab some products! We showed up at 4:50 and when we went to the door they stopped us at the door and told us that they were closed (when it clearly says 5 on the door and online). When we tried to explain to them it wasn't closed yet they said that they had already closed up for the day and were very rude! I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone as we had an absolutely terrible experience and the girls that worked there were extremely rude! I tried this salon 3 times. First time i got a good cut but not at all what i wanted. Second time, armed with a photo still didn't get the cut i wanted and in fact got the cut i said i didn't like at all. Tried a different stylist, got a horrible cut. Not what i wanted, not even a good cut. I recut my own bangs and trimmed the hairs she missed. Manager was not helpful. I'll find another salon. read more

First of all, I've been to more than my fair share of salons, and have worked in the industry as well. My usual experience in a salon isn't anything to speak of. I hate sitting in the chair for hours making pointless conversation. My experience at Kalla Lily Salon was a major exception!! They were able to squeeze me in for a last minute appt, same day. Allison is the best stylist/colorist I've ever seen! She is so sweet, so adorable, professional and very talented! She is the complete package!! I loved that they carry Aveda products and was EXTREMELY happy with James- When James left, I tried a couple other stylists here and they just didn't impress me (and had no idea what to do with my daughters curly hair). I was really disappointed when James left, and the Kalla Lily staff told me he went out of state.... While still salon-shopping for a stylist I liked as much, I actually found James at Insparations Salon in Albertville! Its disappointing Kalla Lily would be dishonest with their clients, and they have lost my business (I was still purchasing my Aveda products from them until now). I didn't realize how packed my day was and I showed up a little late and then had to squeeze in this hair appointment and she was great about it. So I have been going to Kalla Lily for years now 4+ years now sporadically when I am back from school. I have never had a bad experience before. However this time my normal stylist was not there and I went with another one. I had shown her a picture of the service I wanted and she did the exact opposite of it and made my hair look horrible. (Platinum blonde at the top, dark brown at the bottom and I have pictures) I had asked for an ombre look with a natural dark root and she did it completely wrong. I called in and she fixed it that day by toning it. It still didn't look great and so she came up with a plan for the next time to fix all the tips and get them blonde, which didn't help at all as much as it should have. This was the 4th time with her and I wanted to trust her because I've had such good experiences with kalla lily before. She made it worse, and I have spoken to the manager who just seemed to defend her and said she had experience and made it seem like I was mistaken. I went to Spark Salon across the highway and they saw what she had done and were honestly shocked. I really wanted to trust this place because I have in the past but they hire bad stylists and defend them when they are wrong. I now have to get a $350 color correction because it is that bad. read more
