Located on the southeast corner of Baseline and Archibald, this place is in the same shopping center where the Albertson's used to be. I know I've driven past this place for years and I happened to stop here this weekend as a matter of convenience, and I'm glad I did. First off, the people who were working were extremely friendly. I got an assorted dozen for $7, and it turns out, they were really good! There are a number of places in the area where I refuse to go, because the donuts have a strange aftertaste. I don't know if that's because the oil is old or there is some strange component in the mix, but I hate it. These donuts were well made, not greasy, and most importantly, lacked that weird aftertaste I've come to hate. At any rate, they've gained a new customer out of me. Plus, you have to love any donut place where old people hang out in front! If you get there later than 10 AM, you will have to pick from the day's remnants. read more

I'm not a fan of 1 star reviews but I tell it like it is, at least from my point of view. I would love to like this place since it is the closest donut shop to my house. In the last 4 months I've stopped here twice. Both times my experience was almost identical. Today I arrived about 10:30 am (Saturday) there was so few donuts on the rack about 12 total and about half of them did not look very yummy. The lady in front of me asked if that's all they had and the clerk responded with yes it's been a busy morning. The lady and I both left without making any purchase. About 3-4 months ago I experienced the same thing and left without a donut. I will continue to drive the 7 miles over to Upland Donuts in Upland for my Donut fix. read more

YUMMY donuts! You will see the regulars hang outside enjoying some coffee and chit chatting;-) a dozen donuts mix or glazed are $7.00. 1st time I had to buy 3 dozen and a cinnamon roll. The guy gave my cinnamon roll donut free;-) The coffee is good as well..They sell other stuff, but I just come here for coffee snd donuts. Picked up a dozen donuts this morning after finding them on Yelp. Service was fast and friendly and the donuts are fresh and tasty! The apple fritter was moist and flavorful. Not overly greasy like some places we've been. Also had a blueberry donut and that was also very good! We'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL? Ok guys this is why we Yelp. The reviews don't lie. We had a sudden craving for donuts. This place was closest. Not the biggest selection I've ever seen and there certainly is no one doing cartwheels when you walk in. All that being said the overall experience was just adequate. As donuts go they do ok here. I mean how do you mess up a donut? The freshness is the only question and today they were fresh. As far as I could tell the display was about 80% full and we got there around 9:30am. So I gather from the other reviews that if you get there early enough and your not looking to be overwhelmed with hospitality then Kalvin's should be able to handle your donut fix. The donuts are delicious here! This has become our new go to place for donuts. My son loves glazed donuts and says these are the best. I tried the blueberry donut and tiger tails (both strawberry & cinnamon) for the first time today and they were so tasty. I'm hoping to try one of their breakfast sandwiches soon! In our family every Sunday is Donut Day and Kalvin's Donuts is our current haunt. Tamales, donuts, croissant sandwiches and the hottest coffee around! Every Sunday we take our kids here and enjoy our family tradition. The food is always fresh and the owners are super friendly. We even attended a car show here a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. It is nice to see a small business do so well in this area, they deserve it for running such a nice shop! read more

The people that own the place were really friendly and both greeted me upon arrival. They had a steady flow of customers the whole time I was there. The donuts were o.k. I got there at about 9 and they were sold out on a lot of their donuts. No cinnamon roll as I wanted. What I got were fresh and good but you could tell they had been on the shelf for a while, not a big deal. I guess I will have to get there earlier next time I'm in the area to get a real good feel for them. Until next time it's just a donut. read more
