Moving to the keys, I wasn't sure how the yoga scene would be. I was so grateful to find Key Largo…read moreYoga as the closest studio. They're just what my body ordered (and desperately needs)! The vibe of the entire studio and staff is one of kindness and generosity. They host a variety of free community classes as their way of giving back to their neighbors. My favorite is the Tuesday Free Sunset Yoga. It's a perfect weekly tradition that keeps me centered and happy. The setting is perfect, right across Overseas Hwy, bayside, at Sunset Cove Resort. They also do cool things like Glow Flow for Halloween with blacklight yoga. The studio itself is in a strip mall, on the 2nd floor, next to a chiropractor's office. You wouldn't necessarily know it was there unless you were looking for it, but once you're inside, it's like you're transported. There's aromas, soft lights, sound bowls, OMs, and some really good yoga. They have local specials as well as 10-class packages and monthly deals. It's very affordable for quality yoga classes. There's towels, yoga towels, and yoga mats for rent as well in the back of the room. There's a good store of blocks and bolsters should you need. I recommend taking any class with Kathy Shirley -- she's amazing and her classes leave me SOOOO open and sore in the best ways. Jennifer is also great. I haven't gotten the chance to try anyone else's classes yet, but trust me, I intend to!

During a recent trip to the Keys I dropped in for Dete's Yoga Sculpt & Flow class. As billed, this…read moreis more of a workout rather than a traditional yoga class - faster pace, less focus on meditation, and some pilates-style moves thrown in. You still get savasana at the end (thank goodness) as well as a shoulder adjustment. For someone looking for more breathing, meditation, and longer time spent in poses, this would likely not be the best fit, however as someone who enjoys movement and exercise, I really enjoyed this class. The studio itself is located upstairs in a strip mall. There is a restroom but no water fountain/refill station. Drop-in classes are $20, which is pretty standard, however there is also a mat rental fee of $2 which I wish they waive for people visiting from out of town who didn't have space in their carry-on for a yoga mat.

I was completely sedentary until the day I walked into Bodhi for my very first class. I had no idea what I was capable of, and I certainly never imagined how much could change in six months! The physical changes have been remarkable, but the emotional and spiritual growth has been even more meaningful. I've become stronger, more flexible, more confident, and much more connected to my body. I've also been supported in my conviction that true growth isn't about pushing harder. It's about listening to your body, honoring your limitations, and discovering what you can do. The support I've received from the teachers has been a huge part of my journey. I've received so much encouragement not only from the teachers whose classes I regularly attend, but even from those whose classes I haven't even taken! They take the time to engage with me, help me work within my limitations, and celebrate my progress in ways that have given me a genuine sense of accomplishment. Most of all, Bodhi really does create a sense of community. I never feel like I have to prove myself or keep up with anyone else. I feel supported exactly where I am, while being encouraged to see what might be possible next. I'm incredibly grateful to the teachers and the entire Bodhi community for making my journey so much more beautiful and rewarding than I ever imagined.

After a one-hour beginner's vinyasa class, my back pain was completely gone. Updated. Kept most of my original review but added what has happened over the last few days. I'm…read morewriting this to help others make an informed decision before choosing Kinder in the Keys. My experience was not only disappointing -- it was misleading, unsafe, and very different from what I was promised. Before I arrived, I was told this was a holistic, nutrition-based program with non-processed foods, mindfulness, and wellness education. Their website also said "no processed foods, no sugar, no soda." This was simply not true. Most meals were frozen or heavily processed: pizza, cold cuts, bacon, chicken sausage, sugary snacks, ice cream, etc. There was zero nutrition education or wellness instruction. The daily structure was chaotic and disorganized. Schedules changed constantly with long stretches of "hurry up and wait." Some staff acted unprofessional or dismissive, which made the entire environment feel more controlling than therapeutic. Medication safety was a serious concern. Multiple clients received the wrong medication. One woman became extremely sick, had to go to the ER, and police were called so she could safely get her belongings. That incident exposed major safety issues. Staffing was another red flag. It seemed there were very few licensed clinicians on site. Many groups were run by interns or minimally trained staff. Privacy was inconsistent -- sensitive topics were often discussed in shared spaces. The "wellness" programming was also misrepresented. Other than yoga twice a week, there was no exercise program at all. Daily meditation? We laid on the living room floor while staff played random YouTube videos they picked on the spot. There was nothing structured, intentional, or therapeutic about it. Yoga itself often caused stress. We were told to be ready by 6:40 AM, yet we usually left late and arrived after class started. If anyone rested on their mat, staff would poke or reprimand them. This was not trauma-informed care. People ask why I stayed 7+ weeks. Here's the truth: Leaving a residential program is complicated when you're already emotionally vulnerable. You're isolated from your normal life and repeatedly told to "trust the process," and that wanting to leave means you're "resistant" or "not ready." And the one time I did try to leave, I was blocked from doing so. I asked staff for my phone to call the director -- I was told no because "it wasn't phone time." I asked for my phone to call an Uber to go to the airport -- again, I was told no. All luggage is kept in a locked shed, and clients do not have free access. Even if an Uber came, I couldn't get my belongings. I felt stuck. To be fair, I did meet some wonderful women there. Those friendships were the best part of the experience. A few licensed therapists were excellent, and the dolphin outing was memorable. But these positives don't erase the systemic issues in the program. What happened after I left was even more telling. When I sent a detailed complaint letter, Kinder in the Keys blocked me instead of responding. They also refused to provide the legally required instructions on how to obtain my medical records. I asked multiple times and got no response. I eventually had to ask for my records publicly on Google's review forum because they would not provide the information privately. This says a lot about their approach to transparency and accountability. Bottom line: What Kinder markets and what they actually deliver are two completely different things. I learned from the few licensed therapists and met incredible women, but I left feeling misled, unsafe, and deeply concerned for anyone enrolling based on their advertising. Mental-health treatment should be ethical, transparent, and safe. My experience at Kinder in the Keys was none of those things. --Kimberly
