These guys are the absolute best. They are some of the lowest priced around. I used them for a move. Dwayne is friendly and easy to communicate with. He called to confirm. I asked for two guys, and they sent three and only charged me cost for the additional guy ($15/hour) since I hadn't requested him. So glad they did that as it was much more work than I had realized. They worked harder than I could have asked. I think they only took one 5 minute break all day! They refused all my offers of food and drinks (other than water once or twice). They were courteous, hard working, and gentle with my stuff. The next time I moved (a month or so ago), they were already booked. The company I used was terrible, and made me appreciate Kama'aina even more. Coincidentally, when I posted some moving boxes to give away Dwayne, the owner, emailed me to get them for a client of his who needed them (who gives this kind of service?!). When he came by, I asked him how much he would charge to get a large desk from my old place in Makakilo and bring it to Manoa. He happened to be going that way and offered to do it free of charge. What??? The guy is incredible. I only regret that I didn't give him more money for his time despite the fact that he didn't ask for it. Kama'aina movers were great! After three other moving companies didn't call me back for quotes, I called Dwayne and he called back within 24 hours to discuss my move. He said they had a large move the morning I wanted but they would squeeze me in that afternoon. The day of the move the crew called and said they would be a little late due to the morning move taking longer than expected. When the guys arrived, they packed up my 3 Br from Hickam and had me moved into my new house in Ewa within 3.5 hours, and that's with afternoon traffic on H-1. The crew was professional and worked extremely quick to get the trucks loaded and us on the road. I was worried about some of my larger furniture items at the new house as the guys had to negotiate a tight set of stairs to get them onto the second floor. No problem for these guys, they had the furniture up the stairs and into the rooms in no time. A huge mahalo to the crew and Dwayne. You guys kept the move fast, efficient, and in budget. Good experience with these guys. They work very fast and are courteous, as well as affordable. I think a company shirt would be a good addition here. Some type of uniform. Just my 2 cents though. I had asked for 3 guys to help with the move and they showed up with 5! This definitely worked out in my favor since I was paying by the hour. Kama'aina Movers is No Ka 'Oi To be brief: These guys were fast, efficient, respectful and (local kine) professional. I called Dwayne to schedule a move for the next available time. I was quoted a week but if he could fit me in for an earlier time he would call me. He called me back the next day saying he would be able to get me in that afternoon, they were ahead of schedule and if I was willing to do a late move (3:00 pm) they'd be available. Now I will say at this point the 3:00 pm move didn't get started until 4:00 pm. Some people might see this as issue and give KM a 4-Star but I think when you factor in the fact that I was getting the move done a week earlier than I expected it really is not an issue and still exceeded my expectations. Besides, as we all know, if you try to go anywhere in Honolulu at 3 pm on weekday you're going to hit traffic. Another thing that really helped was Dwayne gave me the Driver's mobile number. Because of this I was able to be in communication with him and that prevented me from wondering where they were and what time the move was actually going to happen. Like I said, they got there at 4:00. Three guys; Wilson (driver), Ray and Ikaika. They moved my two bedroom (furniture only) from a storage lockup to the truck in less than 1.5 hours. They worked well, very efficient, careful and their packing of the truck was secure and protective. (Kudos to Wilson for his expertise and attention to detail). They followed me back to the house (Mapunapuna to Manoa at 5:30 on a Tuesday). The house has a driveway with a minor incline but it goes right to the three stairs at the front door. The unpacking took no more than twenty minutes and they were just as efficient and professional as ever, putting the pieces in the rooms I asked. Total time was less than three hours for three guys. I moved from a 2 BR to a 1 BR on the 3rd floor with no elevator. The 3 guys were amazing. They know every trick to make things move quickly. They wrapped my brand new 50 in flat screen, wrapped a bunch of fragile stuff that I was worried about & got it up 3 flights intact. Had I known how efficient & safe my fragiles would be, I wouldn't have made so many trips in my car. I had a huge computer desk that was too big for the new place. They broke it apart for me & it went into the dumpster. Plus, they were really nice. And the price is right. Pay cash & you'll get the best price. read more

I recently shipped a shipment for a client to Honolulu HI from here and I needed someone I could trust to pick up my shipment from the port and deliver to my client. Thats when I found Dwayne. i moved from kaneohe to kailua i had two guys George and Ala great guys and strong nothing was damaged gps made them 1/2 hour late but Duane called me and no big deal, being a single tiny female i was glad to have these guys told them this place will be hard loading alot of walking the place i am moving to is a sweet easy access. We had record time guys were great will use these guys again for my moving needs and i am a safety officer at pearl harbor, these guys are safe lifting wise lift with their legs not their backs and strongs nothing damaged i enjoyed my move will use this company again for moving excellent gave the guys 10 each to go get lunch as a single female and petite i felt comfortable with these guys and Duane worked with me on the time frame since i cant have my personal cell at work cause it has a camera... very good company read more

I schedule the move 2 days in advance and Dwayne was very accommodating and had no problem scheduling me and setting something. I got a call the day of confirming that they were going to come over and that moving was no problem. The moving crew (Keanu, Jay, Jordan, Wilson) was extremely fast and efficient, they had the truck loaded up in about 15 minutes flat. They took great care with my things, didn't bump anything, didn't scratch the glass desk and were generally very careful to be respectful of my stuff which I really appreciated. They also drove well, didn't jostle things around taking hard corners or going too fast which I also appreciated. Moving in was the same thing, they pulled up to the dock, unloaded everything really quickly and put the bed back together exactly where I'd asked them to which I appreciated. Next, they delivered a 400 pound glass table up the same stairs. Each time Duane and the crew pulled it off with exceptional professionalism. These guys are awesome! I moved from a 2 bedroom apt to a house and the 3 guys that came were Ikaika Travis and Corey. I can't rave enough about that team. They moved really quick, very friendly and put myself and my wife at ease about caring for our things. One thing I am really impressed about is their honesty, they dinged a corner of our dresser as they were moving it and instead of not acknowledging it or denying that it was their fault, before we could say anything they brought it too our attention and remedied the situation. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to friends and family. Moving sucks, but Michael and his crew definitely made it less burdensome for us. They were efficient, fast, and careful with our belongings and both houses. Our house was on a steep hill, and the guys really worked hard to get everything out of our house and loaded onto the truck quickly. I was surprised how much they fit into the truck, and they even managed to fit the bikes and plants that I thought I would have to come back for later -- saving me both gas and backache! Nothing broken upon arrival, though we're still unpacking boxes (and probably will be for weeks) -- but no major damages to personal belongings or either house is definitely a plus. Dwayne gave us a rate of $125/hour for three guys, and it took a total of four hours from door to door. We were able to clean the old house as they were packing up, which ended up working out perfectly -- getting the full deposit back rocks!
