Me and my girlfriend ordered an appetizer, main course, and a dessert, and we were in and out within the hour. Great refills and obviously great service. Food was amazing and I couldn't get enough of the fried gyoza. Setting was great with a cushioned booth, custom menus, great decor, and they even have some anime's playing in the background. I truly don't understand how this place has good reviews. My girlfriend and I came here for a date and right off the bat it took 10 minutes just for someone to take an order on drinks. We then ordered our food and appetizer and were excited to eat! I got the sesame chicken and it was probably the worst chicken I've ever had in my life. The chicken tasted like it had freezer, chewed like rubber and was dry! The worst part about it is that my girlfriend ordered sushi which she usually gets before I get my food any other place but I kid you not it took 35 minutes to get one roll of sushi... Because of the sensible chicken I got beef fried rice which is hard to mess up. Well they proved me wrong! The amount of chives and raw white onion in the fried rice was absurd. If you took a scoop and separated the rice from both onions it wasn't even close... there is MORE ONION than there is RICE and it's called BEEF FRIED RICE!!! Also it just got worse while typing this... my girlfriend order another roll 10 minutes ago which again that is already kinda slow on a sushi roll and the server just told us it would be another 30 minutes. This place is an absolute joke and we will never be back that's for sure. read more

Came here with my cousin for lunch on a Wednesday. I had been to another Airi Ramen, so I wanted to check this one out! Just like the Airi Ramen location, this one had great staff and food! We started with some edamame while waiting for our ramen, and it was the perfect start to our meal, nice and hot with just the right hint of salt. Our ramen came out quickly and was delicous. I'm being incredibly genuine when I say this...best ramen I think I've ever had. I've had a lot of ramen in my life and have never been to this part of Houston before and I'm incredibly impressed by the flavor and quality of the ingredients this place offers. My partner and I throughly enjoyed the basil chicken karaage; it had a wonderful coating and moist inside with tons of flavor. I also enjoyed the spicy chicken ramen. Again, fantastic levels of flavor with incredibly moist chicken. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff we talked to were attentive and welcoming. So far pretty good service. I've been here twice and enjoyed the food The first time I got the ramen which had a great broth, and I got the shrimp balls as well which were really good. The second visit I ordered the shrimp balls and teriyaki chicken and rice. They were out of the shrimp balls and called me to see if I was ok with having shrimp tempura instead at no extra charge. The food was excellent and fresh! I had the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen and it was absolutely delicious. If you want to take it up a level and you like spice, I would suggest adding chili oil. The service was fast and the staff were courteous. They take care of their customers. I will say that the restaurant is small and cozy. It would be great to get orders to go if we lived closer. The only reason the review is not a 5 star review is because the pork chashu was a little over seared making it tough and crunchy on the outside, but not in a good way. Tried the General Tso's Chicken Since moving here I've been hoping to find some food that resembles Chinese take out from the northeast and this dish fulfilled my hope. The chicken was fresh and flavorful. The sauce was very good but just a bit too sweet. Would definitely get this again considering the great portion size. The fried rice was delicious. It has the desired smokiness we all look for in fried rice but I do wish it had a little more flavor (maybe a little bit of sesame oil). The pickup was experience was very efficient and the employee was very nice. The comments about the place smelling like a nail salon are true but it doesn't affect anything for me. I haven't been here since they renovated, and I must say it looks really nice now! Before it was dark and kind of dingy, now it's lighter and brighter! It seems like they've expanded but I'm not too sure, maybe the renovation made it look bigger than before. So onto the food, my husband and I weren't too hungry but wanted a light lunch so we got takoyaki, basil chicken karaage, and spicy tuna roll. The karaage came out piping hot which is a good thing since it's fresh, couldn't really taste the basil but can't go wrong with popcorn chicken! The takoyaki is one of my faves, I always order it! The spicy tuna roll was just the right amount of spice, some places make it way too spicy. However I'm used to spicy tuna made spicy with the spicy mayo rather than a dry spicy seasoning, so a tad disappointed in that but that maybe a regional thing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our large group without a reservation. Even with a group of 12 the wait staff worked together to insure we had everything we needed. I had the teriyaki chicken and it came out on a hot skillet that was sizzling and smoking. I've never seen this dish presented like that. The chicken was very moist and tender. It had great flavor and comes with steamed rice, but I upgraded to regular fried rice. To my left, the person had the miso ramen and was told it was rich in flavor. To my right the person had orange chicken and I gave it a tried. Again the chicken was very tender and had amazing flavor. It did have a spicy kick but not over powering. I have been here before and usually the food is pretty good. it was a little warm for Ramen so decided for the crab puffs and the Airi Orange Chicken. The puffs were good the chicken was over cooked and dry. I tried two pieces of the chicken and pushed it away. Sheshh I drank way too much last night but luckily ramen does help with my massive hangover. We came here around 5pm and the place wasn't busy which is a good thing because I was hungry. When you walk in they do temperature checks, there's also a decent amount of space between tables to practice social distancing. I decided to order the Tonkotsu ramen with extra egg, Chris who was our server was very accommodating. My Tonkotsu was very good, perfect amount of seasoning & the broth was not salty. The pork chashu was decent but I wish it was more tendered, I think if they cooked it a couple mins less it'll be perfect. For me a perfect pork chashu is when you take a bite & it just melts right in your mouth; this one unfortunately was slightly overdone. My egg was made how I like it, a bit runny. By far, the best takeout meals we've enjoyed in the New Caney area in the past five years since moving to (Original) Tavola! My husband and I have ordered twice, and Airi didn't disappoint! They have such authentic and exciting ingredients, such as black garlic (first time in my life I've tried it & loved it both times!) and red curry (my Hubbie does like some curries, after all!), very generous portions, delicious little white and hot pink edible doodad unique to Airi!--also, arrives in reusable "Tupperware," so hot and fresh that we didn't have to reheat! Very disappointed! Came here for the first time and was disgusted at the way they treat both the food they serve and their customers. The rice was partially uncooked and crunched when you took a bite, not to mention my food was coughed on before being handed to me. Additionally, while not quite as bad broken utensils where lying around their kitchen when they were preparing the food. I also went to use the bathroom later on and discovered that apparently hygiene is not huge on their list of priorities as there was urine all over the bathroom floor that had obviously been there for quite some time without being cleaned up.
