We made a reservation for four adults as part of a girls trip to Columbia (America's Best Preserved Gold Rush Town) Upon arrival, our photographer Maureen asked us what were we thinking as far as outfits? "Well ... I really want to be a bonnet bible lady, but my friends want to be outlaws. We're still discussing it" Maureen said "Say no more, I know just what to do with you. Come on in." I wish I could post the picture, but we ended up with a sort of rootin' tootin' hostage situation, SO epic. With the props and how she posed us it's truly a masterpiece. It's our favorite picture of our friend group ever, and by far our favorite souvenir from the trip. 10/10 super fun! And you couldn't hope for a better keepsake, the prints come with a stamp on the back that has the date & everything so you can remember the fun you had. We bought 4 5x7 prints and paid the extra $25 to have the other unedited shots emailed us via a WeTransfer link. The prints were ready in under 30 minutes (Probably less than 30, we stopped back by after grabbing a coffee & drinking it at the gazebo across the way). The digital pics were waiting in my inbox by the time we got back to our AirBNB later that same evening. (But make reservations!! It might be slower on the weekdays, but when we came on a weekend they were super busy & couldn't take walk-ins from what we could see) read more

I had luck messaging them via FB messenger as I wasn't able to get a hold of them on the phone. I wanted to take vintage photos here last time I was here but it was a monday and most of the shops were closed so this time I wanted to message them beforehand. I love that they allow dogs to take photos which was our huge motivator so when we found out they were open we drove the hour to get them done. Maureen (photographer) was so friendly and really captured our doggo! I loved that she photoshopped the best photo of our dog to our photo because she was a bit rambunctious. The same day, she sent us the edited and all the unedited raw images from the shoot - it was super quick! We absolutely loved the photos and have such a great laugh when we see them. read more

Came here for pictures at the beginning of July. Was told we'd get one edited shot emailed and the rest unedited would follow in a separate email. Well the email with unedited photos never came. So we spent nearly $200 for one picture...I've called twice now and each time they've told me their systems were down and they cannot send the photos until they're back up. It is now September and have yet to receive them. Would not recommend as seems like a scam. read more

They did a great job accommodating our two dogs, as well as our party of 9. We ranged in ages from 5 years old to 87 years old, and it all went very smoothly. They have an excellent selection of clothing and props as well. They were friendly and professional. read more

The woman running the place was efficient and a great communicator: what to expect, where to sit / stand, how to take the best photos. We were getting family photo with my small baby and immune compromised mother for her birthday, the owner said she had asthma and made up a huge story about how she wasn't sick. Yet when We went back to pick up our photos three hours later they said closed because they were sick. Now we are all sick!! Straight up evil and liar. Wow, or should I say woof! My wife and I, with our two darling yet slightly unruly dogs in tow, decided on a whim to have an old fashioned family photo shoot while visiting the whimsical Columbia State Historic Park. It was magical from the beginning. I rung the old bell to alert the period dressed photographers of our presences and to our delight they are dog friendly too!!! It was swift, professional, fun, memorable and the photo couldn't be more perfect. I asked for a "family photo" and my expectations were effortlessly exceeded by the amazing owner and staff of Kamice's Photographic Establishment. I WILL UPDATE IF WE GET OUR PICTURES AND CD.. We had a really fun girl trip and decided to get Old Time pics in Columbia but the day we went they told us the printer was down and they'd mail us our pics. When my cousin didn't them after a month she called and got a message phone saying "If you haven't gotten your pics, they're on the way partner".... Finally I found this Yelp site and a number and talked to Erik, (I believe) two weeks ago. He said our pics were sitting there for pick-up and he'd mail them out that day! They got our money immediately and we're still waiting.... The experience was a blast but if we can't get our pictures we will be very disappointed. PLEASE HELP! ************************UPDATE******** Changed my low review to a five star because we got the pics and CD after we talked in the phone. They must have gotten lost but they re printed them and mailed us out again. We couldn't be more excited, they are amazing!.. The pictures on the CD is as they said, unfinished but I easily used my photo app to crop and change the color of the pics to black and white / Serbia. I had fun playing around. We couldn't be happier. We uploaded the CD to a computer which my cousin had, she then emailed them to me. Thanks again for the memories we will cherish always. read more

I am so glad this little business has survived COVID! We take an annual trip to Twain Hart every year in March and this is one stop we can't leave without doing. This year they were still closed due to COVID so we postponed our trip hoping they would re open soon. We were able to make an appointment in the beginning of May (highly recommend making an appointment, they are always busy on the weekends!) and as usual, they did not disappoint! The staff is always friendly, great with kids and have great recommendations for pulling your outfits together. We are so happy to be able to keep this little tradition going and look forward to our next trip! read more

This little shop is great. They manage to work quickly, while still making you feel like you are important. The employees are super friendly, and they made my kids feel special. Our first picture didn't turn out so great. My bare feet looked weird and my husband's board shorts were showing under the costume. Little details, but we noticed, and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy, doing a free reshoot, letting me pick a different costume that didn't show my feet. They only have one background, but they have a ton of props and they do a lot to play with the props for what you want and will meet your personality and make an original piece of art for you. They managed the front counter and the photo shoot simultaneously and kept things moving on a busy weekend. Great place overall. If you want a lot of personal attention and no crowd, I recommend going in at 10am when they open on a Sunday. It was completely empty and we had a ton of time. read more

She greeted us in a very friendly manner that put our two young kids at ease (2 & 5), helped us select our outfits and poses, and the prints were made quickly. My friend and I had a great experience here. We love our photos and the session was so much fun! The costumes are awesome and the staff are super sweet and helpful. You should make an appointment ahead of time, and after your session plan on waiting about 45 minutes for your prints while you walk around and enjoy the rest of the little town. We paid $30 for two 5×7 prints of two people; please remember that this includes the photos as well as the costuming, photographing, and photo editing skills of the staff. It's well worth the price! Had a great time taking pictures here today. I loved the staff. They are great at what they do. We had a party of 5. There was an issue with printing in the size we wanted. They were very quick to solve the issue and offered to mail the picture to us later. The prices were no too expensive and they have a variety clothing to choose from as well as awesome props. read more

Was a really great experience while I was doing it. Enjoyed working with the staff and liked the way the pictures turned out. Only problem is they convinced me to buy a CD with all my pictures on it. When I excitedly went to use the CD to print the pictures they claimed would be on it which was "all the pictures taken here today" the CD would not load and it said no pictures were available. I attempted to call them and it said the number has been disconnected. I spent nearly $300 for What ended up being six prints. We spent Fathers day with 2 generations of dad's. My In-laws are in their 80's and hard to get them to try something new! There were 7 of us and our Australian Shepard. My mother in-law is in a wheel chair and they were so patient and helpful and got her from her chair to the old couch and the "Hernandez Family" transformed from family to 5 Banditos and 2 Senorita's with our dog rolling over and doing tricks as we got ready! This place is great. I was very skeptical it's been 7 or 8 years since I've been to Columbia & we have always gon to the previous studio & were used to the old way. This was very organized. You pick your style & they fit you accordingly. Before, you went into a room & found whatever fit. (which was fun too) I wasn't sure about the digital process, to me it doesn't feel authentic, but the picture came out great. There's a huge benefit to digital with 4 kids let me tell you. They were able to piece together our best faces. I wish all places did that. It's definitely worth the cost. The people are great. We will be back. read more
