We ended up picking Joleen since she was someone that we were very comfortable talking with and she had an amazing portfolio. Her prices were really reasonable and fit within our budget. We were really happy that she offers an engagement shoot as part of a package since we knew that getting comfortable with your photographer before your wedding day is so important! Joleen offers a great mix of organization and spontaneity. In the case of our engagement shoot, she was up for lots of climbing up and down San Francisco stairs and helped make us comfortable and confident so she could capture us really well. Her final photos for the engagement shoot were wonderful and we knew that she'd do a great job with our wedding day. We had a number of beautiful images to choose from for our save the date, moving announcement, wedding website, family gifts, and even a custom jigsaw puzzle. In the planning of our wedding day, Joleen was very helpful, realistic, and patient with us as we navigated our timeline. She was professional in providing expectations about how long something will take to photograph. She was responsive when it came to all of our questions and helpful in communicating guidance. On the day of the wedding, Joleen was on time and really helpful and flexible during the getting ready process, first look, and couple photos. At the venue, she did a great job orchestrating our bridal party and family photos. Joleen did a great job operating behind the scenes during the ceremony and cocktail hour. She provided the perfect amount of guidance during photo opportunities (like signing the marriage license or during the cake cutting) and was also flexible with impromptu group photos as well as the weather not being able to provide a sunset shot. Her sneak peek photos of our wedding showed her great eye and she finished our entire wedding album a few weeks ahead of schedule which we really appreciated. The planning process was very organized and Sound Extreme's online planning tool was so helpful in choosing all of the special songs (first dance, processional, etc). We had two skype/facetime meetings with Ryan before the wedding to go over details (event order, special songs, what to expect, etc) and we had no doubts that everything would go smoothly. I didn't worry about it at all on the day of the wedding, and knew I could trust Ryan and his team (including Sarah, the mirror photobooth attendant) to be there, on time, and do their job. Ryan was very attentive both after the ceremony (he even brought us water afterwards) and during the reception. He totally kept the party going and several people complimented us on having such a fun wedding. Ryan surprised us with fun lights and glowsticks during the dancing portion of the reception, and we had the most amazing time. Ryan is a professional, and we put the music in his very capable hands. We included songs on our must play, play if possible, and do not play lists, and asked that he use his professional judgment in selecting what to play. We're so happy we did this, and if we ever need a DJ in the future we know who we're going to call!!! I would highly recommend that you hire Ryan for your wedding or special event!

I never said anything about ALL your booths. The screen was black. Look into it, and stop blaming me for concocting lies. Getting one more turn in the photo booth after two sessions is not that serious. Also, I blurred the images to protect the identities of those in the photos. The album is "private". It's not cool to post pictures of people without their knowledge. It's funny you think I was trying to pass it off as a photo from your booth though. The purpose was to illustrate the heads cut off. I could get more, but my point has been proven. This is on principle. You accused me of lying in the first response. So I responded with "new fervor". I was simply a guest at this event expressing my dissatisfaction and voicing that of the other guests. Continue to negate responsibility though. At this point, I'd most definitely not recommend any other of your services knowing this is how you handle customer disappointments. Not cool Ryan, to publicize photos of customers who opted for a "PRIVATE" album. It definitely proves your original claim was untruthful though. Mission complete!

My family has come here 4 times in the last 6 years and every time has been awesome. The whole crew…read moreis efficient and you are in and out of there so fast, yet you never feel rushed. Everyone has so much fun coming up with ideas for the shoot and all the employees are completely open to everything and offer great suggestions. They are stellar at handling dogs, all our pictures have turned out great. We have brought so many friends here and they have had the same experience. Plus you get your pictures the same day- go grab lunch or an ice cream in old town Colombia and the pictures are edited and printed in no time. I highly recommend you call ahead to make reservations, but they will work as hard as possible to get your walk in group seen, even on a busy day. I'm not going to share my most recent pictures because my kids are in it, but the website has great examples.

BORING and WEIRD!…read more Before our session, the photographer, Maureen, had us choose a style from a book of sample photos. We specifically selected an Old West outlaw theme with gloves, garters, rifles, and "teen" dresses. I clearly told her I wanted my daughters to look like they were "going to rob a bank." When I asked about the accessories, she assured me, "We'll get to that later." That never happened. The session lasted less than 10 minutes. When I asked why she hadn't photographed the concept we discussed, she said she didn't because "the girls were having fun" and "they didn't mention robbing a bank." My daughters are 12 and 13 years old. While I want them to enjoy the experience and have input, they were not the customers--I was. The final product should reflect the vision requested by the parent who booked and paid for the session. If the photographer couldn't or didn't want to create the concept I requested, she should have told me before the session began so I could have changed the plan or gone elsewhere. Instead, the final images were completely different. The gloves, garters and rifles were replaced with flowers, fans, and cigarettes. With all the creative possibilities in a Western studio, the finished photos are awkward, uncomfortable, and boring. They don't resemble an outlaw theme at all. The most concerning part was seeing my 13-year-old photographed with a cigarette in her mouth without my knowledge or permission. I would never have approved that. Even more disturbing, my daughters told me they were instructed not to tell their parents that cigarettes had been used in the photos. As well as to "do what they want, and not what their parents want". No adult working with children should ever encourage them to keep something from their parents. That crossed a line. I also witnessed the Maureen speaking disrespectfully to a newer coworker in front of customers, which was unprofessional. This entire situation could have been avoided with one honest conversation. If you can't or won't provide the concept your customer requested, say so before the session begins. Don't agree to it, ignore it, and then deliver something completely different. If you are photographing children, it should be mandatory that the parent approves the concept before the photos are taken. We chose this studio because of its reputation. I hope management takes this feedback seriously so another family doesn't leave as disappointed as we did.
