Tried to book appt to follow up on kidney image irregularities that showed on my back MRI. Because the scan wasn't for kidneys it doesn't list anything beyond the back. Receptionist acted like it's absurd and impossible for me to come in for that when I've had symptoms because I'd need CT or ultrasound report to be seen...which is also why I wanted the appt to get those as a follow up. I was referred to Dr. Kamjoo and figured I would give it a try. Being on the skeptical side, I went in with no expectations. I was scheduled for a physical, where I would meet him I person, when suddenly I got covid. That is where I found this incredible, compassionate, knowledgeable person who got me through it and checked up on me, without us ever meeting. He has an amazing calm manner, which just made me feel like everything would be ok. Dr. Kamjoo was my mother's doctor before she passed away and has been my father's doctor for years. We have absolutely depended on his good medical care since none of us live in Los Angeles. We trust him implicitly and he's been very responsive to our questions and concerns. I saw someone wrote about him bringing a cup of coffee to the hospital room. Big deal. This doctor works hard and probably needs caffeine. It's never bothered me in the slightest. Seriously, I can't believe someone would complain about this. She also complained about his bedside manner. I think he has a great one. There are a couple of medical professionals in my family and we are very picky about medical care for our parents. He's very nice, and very competent and communicates well with us. We're always so grateful for him. read more

Our last doctor, Grossman, changed his practice to where we'd have to pay for 'concierge' service of $1,500 and Dr. Kamjoo was a referral of a referral. Grossman gave us a list of doctors, the one we picked packed up but said he should try Kamjoo. My wife and I have had similar experiences, hers more frustrating than mine. With our first physical here, we thought it would be pretty intensive, getting to know us as new patients. Nah. We sat there waiting for him, dual appointment... his assistant (?) came in with a laptop and was very helpful. I was dealing with massive headaches all of a sudden and shoulder pain (both from the gym) as well as a spot I wanted to get looked at since it was hurting, my wife just wanted a general check-up. The assistant actually, correctly, diagnosed my headaches as "Exertion Headaches," which I've never heard before... too much strain, not breathing at the gym, not enough water, legs above the heart too much, etc. He nailed it... but he wanted to get Dr. Kamar's opinion. Anyway, he finally came in. He has an odd manner of dealing with patients (or maybe just us), where he doesn't like to look at you too much, like any normal person would during a conversation... always looking down at a chart or away. There's a coldness about that. Still, that doesn't mean he couldn't be a good doctor. (The other stuff does.) So, I told him about my shoulder pain and he said, "Just stop working out." Huh? Just 'stop' working out? That's the solution? Get fat? No, not an option (I checked online and follow other doctors' advice of just doing more reps with lighter weights.) I then told him about the headaches and he kinda shrugged, "Take some Tylenol maybe?" Um, yeah... been doing that. I tried suggesting the "Exertion Headaches" to him but he shrugged it off, "Just stop working out or doing too much." Wtf? I tried showing him this bump on my back that sometimes causes pain, I hope it's not cancer and he laughed about it, "Why you so worried about cancer?" Um, because it randomly has pain! It might be from a bad spider bite I got once but you never know and that's what I need an 'expert' to tell me. "Ees nothing." As far as our physicals, he didn't do anything other than talk. Didn't check my tongue, didn't do the 'ball check' for cancer, nothing. We were like, "That's it?" That's a year wasted on our insurance, have to wait again. Anyway, so I recently went back in now that I'm an old fart, 40, told them I wanted to start getting checked for the colonoscopy and all of that... but at least a physical. I thought THIS time was going to be a real physical. Same thing again!!! Absolutely nothing, other than talking. This was after me waiting for almost an hour, one of the first appointments in the morning, "Doctor is getting back from the hospital." Doing what, delivering a baby? This is the BS... my wife scheduled her physical for the FIRST time slot in the morning... and waited 2.5 hours, without exaggeration. After an hour, she asked the front desk what the deal was, they said, "He's on his way, finished up at the hospital." Then after two hours, she asked again and they were embarrassed lying for him, "He said he was on his way, I'm sorry." Then finally, being that she has a job she was late for, she told them she was leaving... never getting her physical and he was never there. I'm sorry, but your FIRST APPOINTMENT... you're that late!? And stop with the "hospital" nonsense, the only hospital near there is the Northridge hospital which you can literally walk to. And, what, he has some sidejob there? That's not your patients' problem. It's bad here... honestly, just find anyone else. read more

If you have lab work done, he will review each item with you and discuss how to remedy any areas that are outside acceptable parameters. If he suggests a specialist, he will contact that doctor to consult with him before and after you see that doctor. He uses his computer to illustrate areas that may be of concern in addition to comprehensive and understandable explanations. His staff are wonderful, his offices are spotless and he is highly rated by his peers. He is an excellent doctor and I highly recommend him. What a great doctor! For my first appointment I was 1/2 hr late (thanks Apple maps!) but they still were able to squeeze me in for my appointment. Dr. Kamjoo then went through all my lab results from my ER visit with me and was able to pinpoint was was causing my immense pain (I was initially concerned it was a gallstone or kidney stone- turned out it was a strained muscle). Dr. Kamjoo came highly recommended as a Nephrologist for my father who had open heart surgery last year. We have met with him several times throughout the year and had nothing but great office visits and experiences with him and his office staff. Dr. Kamjoo is a very patient, thorough and knowledgeable internist as well as nephrologist. He spends a great amount of time explaining treatments with my father and making him feel safe and cared for. He doesn't just spend 15 minutes per patient like most doctors now a days, which is why sometimes there may be a short wait to see him. He is all about patient care! He follows up with myself after each office visit to make sure my father is taking his medications and following his instructions. I can only say great things about both Dr. Kamjoo and his office staff! I originally met Dr Kamjoo when he was covering for my mother's doctor. I was very impressed with the way he treated her, followed up and when he saw any family member (when my mother was in the hospital) he would ask how she was. When my insurance changed and I had to find a new doctor, as soon as I saw Dr. Kamjoo's name, I knew I had found my doctor. Dr Kamjoo's is intelligent, inquisitive and caring. He doesn't just prescribe prescribe medicine and forgot about it. Recently I thought I had conjunctivitis and went to see Dr Kamjoo. I expected him to prescribe eyedrops and that would be it. After checking my eyes and asking questions, he told me that I didn't have conjunctivitis and he wanted me to see my eye doctor right away. It was Friday about 3:30 and I was sure that I'd never get an appointment to see the eye doctor until Monday at the earliest. Dr Kamjoo called my doctor's office, and the next thing I know, I had an appointment in 20 minutes. My eye doctor was happy that Dr Kamjoo sent me over and didn't treat it himself. He said most doctors would have treated me for conjunctivitis and I would have gotten worse. Everyone in the office is friendly and caring. There is a very low turnover rate so from the time you walk in, you feel like everyone knows you and especially cares about you. I highly recommend Dr Kamjoo as well as his office! read more
