I ordered two sushi rolls from here this evening and was extremely pleased with what I got. The first was a spicy tuna roll and the second an eel roll. Both were beautifully made, very fresh and decently portioned. The restaurant is situated in a historic house on Fruitville with a quaint ambiance and nice to sit in and eat when with friends. The boba is perfectly sweet & chewy, and the tea isn't overly sweet (but you can adjust your sweetness if needed). Lots of options to choose from. This was an okay sushi spot. Came in for lunch with friends and had to wait an hour and a half for three regular rolls and a small cucumber roll, which all came out at different times. They run a lunch special which includes a roll, a boba tea, and soup for $10.25 which I thought was a great deal, especially since my party and I were famished after a long morning at the beach. I didn't realize the boba was actually a powder they mix into tea, and not real boba tea. The two tempura rolls came out a half hour before my friend's eel roll. One tempura roll was burnt to a crisp, but the cucumber roll was good. Also, make sure you're checking your receipts because I was accidentally charged for an extra roll, when none of us ordered it, and they didn't catch their mistake until I asked for a receipt. The establishment wasn't busy when we walked in, so perhaps they were just understaffed or something and that's why it took so long. read more

Literally leaving this place right now, having bought 3 bubble teas and my husband and I are not pleased. My husband ordered the Coconut Milk Tea with Bobba, and I originally ordered the Thai ICED Tea with Bobba. They have paper menus that I was looking at and no where on there did it say that the item I ordered had milk in it. Also, I've ordered and enjoyed regular Thai Iced Tea at many Thai restaurants and establishments and it doesn't have milk in it unless you request it. At least, not in my experience. I was hoping for a refreshing, dairy free tea (which I have gotten at many other bubble tea establishments where they've had tons of dairy free, iced tea options to choose from) but when my tea came out, it was bright orange and filled with milk. I politely asked the woman working there if my order was correct bc I wasn't expecting milk in my ICED tea, and she rudely said "all teas have milk" and pointed to the board on the wall where they had crudely pasted a small piece of paper that said "with milk" next to the Bubble Tea section. Well, I was looking at the hand-held menu they had on the counter and that disclaimer isn't on there, and even if I was looking at the wall menu, I could have easily missed that bc it wasn't very clear. Also, once again, Thai ICED tea doesn't come with milk!! After making that statement, the woman walked into the back and just disappeared completely while I stood there waiting for someone to notice that I was needing to order something else bc I can't have a cup full of dairy like that. I have a dairy intolerance and it wouldn't be pretty if I drank that tea. Finally, another employee walked in for her shift and I explained the situation and she said they could do it with coconut milk and I said that would be fine bc I came all the way out there and I wanted a bubble tea, and she asked if I wanted mine replaced and I just said I would purchase the new one bc it was "my fault" that I didn't see the tiny little disclaimer they added to their wall menu. Again, it was an easy mistake to make but I digress... the teas are $4.50 and it wasn't a big deal to me, especially if I was going to end up with something I could drink. Well, unfortunately, the new tea was absolutely disgusting... didn't taste like tea at all, just a mouth full of coconut milk! It was so unpleasant that I just threw it away! So I bought 3 teas and my husband was the only one that even got to drink anything. His tea was decent, but still nothing like the flavor we've experienced elsewhere. I personally like to taste the TEA itself more than anything else, so I always ask for less sweetness in mine and it's always packed full of that strong tea flavor. I don't know what they are doing here... if the tea they are brewing is old and sitting out or they aren't letting it steep long enough so it's bland, but you literally could not taste a single bit of tea flavor in my second one... not really much in the first one or my husbands either. Just really disappointed. Not just in the tea, but the service as well. Also, it just doesn't feel very sanitary when you watch them work. Everything is just sitting out in open containers with ladles in them and dust, dirt, bugs, etc could just fly right in, and it's just really inefficient and chaotic. The man working in the back messed up multiple orders so other people were waiting forever as well and when the lady walked away, he just ignored me and everyone else until the next employee came in while he trying to make sense of the chaos that he was dealing with. Again, it wasn't even super busy but their system and set up is so messy and disorganized that it was clearly way more difficult for him than necessary. Also, coconut milk can separate and get gritty unless is shaken really well before use, so my second drink was all gritty and chunky with the milk bc they just had it in this open round container and ladled it into the cup instead of having a sanitary, closed bottle or something that they could shake and pour when needed. Again, I don't understand why they would have eveything sitting out, open and unsanitary like that, especially when it doesn't even make everything easier or more efficient for them. All in all, I hate to rip a small business like this, but it was so disappointing and disgusting and I think they need to rework their menu and offer some dairy free options, or at least make things more clear so people don't get confused like I did. Not everyone can drink gallons of milk (or maybe people don't want to!) and it would be nice if they made the menu more well rounded so people have options. Also, the woman could use some lessons in manners and customer service. We'll never be back and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Just go to Ding Tea in Bradenton. It's so much better and the people that work there are phenomenal and really care about making you something you'll love, and most importantly, it's sanitary!! read more

Kam's is one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in Sarasota. Their menu is truly vast, and I've never ordered something I didn't love. The sushi is super fresh and delicious, and all of the drink menu is the BEST. The smoothies and teas are all made with blended actual fruit, and they include many fruits that are not commonly found in other smoothie/tea menus like taro, papaya, lychee, jackfruit etc. The natural flavors are not overly sweet and really pop. The boba is always fresh and the perfect texture! Everything is made to order and there is usually only one or two people working there, so sometimes you have to be patient, but it's worth it! read more

You wouldn't think much of the place judging from outside as it's in an old house with minimal advertising. The inside is clean and simple - again not much to write about. I love the music they choose!! It's positive and soul healing music - I would go there just to soak in it alone... however! The Food is gorgeous, the bubble teas are delicious and the smoothies are a meal in themselves! They will gladly serve up two scoops of the bobas if you want that but you won't need it as the servings are generous. My daughter and I wouldn't go anywhere else but here for bubble tea. Kam's is located off of Fruitville Rd in what looks like a home turned shop. Definitely a mom and pop kinda place that the locals know of. We ordered two frozen drinks with boba. My wife got a mango lychee smoothie and I got a lychee berry frozen slush. The flavors were really fresh and did not overpower each other. The lychee mixed well with the berry mix and it made for a great combination. Super refreshing! I probably should not have gotten the boba with a frozen drink because they became really hard to chew faster than I expected. The only issue we had with this place is that they were really slow in making the drinks. We were the only ones inside at the time and after we ordered it took at least 10-15 minutes before we got our drinks. I know they also serve sushi here but we didn't try any of the rolls but if it's as good as the drinks, then I'm sure we wouldn't be too disappointed. First time here and I think Kam's is the only stand alone bubble tea shop in the area. Thanks to Yelp! The menu has too many options to choose from so I was a little bit overwhelming. I ordered a smoothie with mango and lychee and added boba. The drink was good, refreshing. I could taste both flavors in the drink which is a plus. The boba was ok, not as chewy as I wish, but that's not a biggie. The service was slow however, we were the only 2 in the shop and it took awhile for our drinks to be made. my absolute favorite eatery in all of florida!!! their fruit smoothies burst of freshness and quench a thirst you didnt know you had. their sushi is marvellous, and their shrimp tempura is the BEST i have ever had. their udon noodles are also amazing. their boba tea is also the best boba ive ever had - i recommend the lychee boba !! i live in tampa but ill drive 1-2 hours just to eat here. in fact it is now a tradition to go down to sarasota to eat here for special occasions. its just that good !!! read more
