A new favorite spot for us! My son had a reading assignment about rolled ice cream so I felt it was my duty to let him experience it to really let the lesson sink in. We stopped here on the way home from the beach expecting just to grab an ice cream cone a step up from the soft serve at the concession stand. We left completely blown away. This frozen dessert originated in Thailand under the name "Thai rolled ice cream" or "stir-fried ice cream" in 2009. It came to the US around 2015 and I have been seeing more and more places pop up. Crystal Creme is an award winning family business and we came to find out why after trying some of their selections. The process to make the rolled ice cream takes about 2 minutes and it's pretty fun to watch. I had the cookies and cream and my husband had the peanut butter and chocolate. My parents went with scoops of the Nutella ice cream which was really tasty. They also serve a variety of Bobo Teas. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient, and the rolled ice cream was absolutely amazing. This place is the best! Check it out! read more

This is a fun indie wholesome ice cream spot along 41 / Tamiami. They seem to specialize in rolled ice cream specialty themed creations like s'mores, peanut butter, oreo, and berry with all sorts of fancy adornments and accoutrements. They also have plain scoops and specialty drinks including teas and lemonades with or without boba. Something for everyone!!! I love that they do tiny mini scoops for $1 or a lil bigger for $2 if you want to try some flavors, have a lil, or are on a diet. A lot of placed you are stuck with big scoopages. Here you have options!!! All their milk is sourced from local Dakin-O dairy and all the ice creams are made in house. Tl They didn't have oodles of flavors when were there Covid era 2020, but between the ice cream flavs and specialty roll concoctions, and beverages there was plenty to choose from. We tried the vanilla and flav eith heath. The Bubba called the bits seeds and said "no seeds please" when she ordered a second scoop of vanilla The texture for the vanilla was more on the ice milk side side than your creamier ice creams but the fun and comfy decor, friendly family servuce from Tall Tim, and welcome made everything taste super great. I tried to use my ATM worker said it would be the same charge. Never have we been charged for using a credit card or I think there's a scam going on? read more

As we were leaving we met the owner and I think his son who explained the process as well as tell us that they are expanding. Loved this little ice cream shop! Took our son after dinner for a little spring break treat he enjoyed the chocolate fudge brownie scoop, I had the triple peanut butter and the hubby had sea salt Carmel turtle. I'm from Southern California, probably home of boba tea in America and I also worked at an OG boba place about 20 years back, and the tea I had here at Crystal Cream -- the cold brew peach with boba -- was perfect. If you're like I was, driving along the 75 questioning if the trip to this place and back to the highway is worth it, I'd say most definitely. ~20 minutes after I left and my tea was all gone, I seriously thought of going back and trying another flavor. Prices are higher than most and the ice cream isn't homemade. Irked me that I was charged an extra $.50 because I wanted 2 different flavors in my one scoop cup. Really? It's already expensive. So you have to do a half scoop. And the size of the scoop was ridiculously small for the $5!!! Will not go back here despite proximity to my home. There are so many better options with fresh homemade ice cream and better service. Also seems like the place is having an identity crisis. Staff was very friendly. The one thing I will say is they charge so much for just the stuff on top. The ice cream underneath everything you see in the photo was literally just vanilla and chocolate syrup. They charged for the marshmallow and the graham cracker on top. That was kind of disappointing . Also, when they say they have boba drinks , they don't have the black boba pearls. They just have gold. And they only have one flavor of milk tea. All the flavors boba places normally have for milk tea, they have for slushees. That was disappointing as well considering I always get Thai or taro milk tea. Other than that, the flavors were good and they people were very nice read more

Wonderful family run ice cream shop! Every time we try to get rolled ice cream at other places there's been huge lines or they ran out before we ordered; so glad we got to try it here! They use local ingredients and you can tell the difference in the flavor; the local milk really shines though. It's not overly sweet either so you can eat the whole serving without feeling sick. We had a lot of fun watching the ice cream rolls being made and the price is great! They just opened recently at the end of a little strip of shops; definitely worth visiting. They also have homemade iced tea and bubble tea, although we didn't try any this time. read more

Enjoyed boba tea yesterday at Crystal Cream. My little sister got the melon slushy boba and I got the peach cold brew tea and added boba into it! Both were very tasty. I wish they had a non-dairy ice cream option though and a non-dairy Boba tea. Customer service was excellent and the facility was super clean. Prices were reasonable as well, to add boba to my tea was only $.99 . I'd recommend Crystal Cream to a friend. read more

Didn't realize rolled ice cream was missing from my life until now. Next-level, handmade ice cream treats complete with luxury toppings. I've eaten ice creams of all types--far and wide. I've had ice creams with many wonderful people and also some terrible ones. I've eaten ice cream in a Lamborghini sports car. I've eaten ice cream high on d-r-u-g-s. Beyond impressed with this place! They use local cream and organic Florida sugar - but not too much! The fact that an ice cream shop is sugar conscious is amazing. Their bubble tea was also low sugar and the peach tea had great flavor! I didn't feel sick after eating here. If that's not enough they have Reasonable prices, free WiFi, clean bathrooms and a recently remodeled building. To top it all off it's a family owned business.
