On my first visit I took my maid of honor dress to be taken in at the waist and the tailor did such a wonderful job! He greeted me cheerfully and it only took a week. When I tried the dress on it fit perfectly. I was so pleased with my dress I took two pairs of jeans to be taken in at the waist and he did a wonderful job again. I had at least an inch taken in on each pair and he showed three different methods and allowed me to choose which I preferred. I could not even tell they weren't initially made this way. His prices are great, timeline for completing projects is very reasonable and he had been pleasant and sincerely thanked me for my business each time. First off I went in for a fitting and the owner didn't measure me for anything he just threw a jacket on me and called it a day. When I went to pick up my tuxedo I found that the tux itself was way too big on me, but the collar of my shirt was too tight. He assured me that it fit right and sent me on my way. While we were there he tried to make my friend pay again, even though he paid in full months ago. The owner does not keep an adequate inventory of his products or a suffice record of payment. Being that I was visiting from out of town, I was unable to return my Tux in person, so I was forced to leave it with a family friend who returned multiple suits along with it. He did in fact get the suit from her, but he claimed he had not. This man keeps an incredibly unorganized and unprofessional shop. Never buy or rent a suit or tuxedo from him, please give another reputable store like Ticknors your service. At least there you will be treated like a valued customer. read more

This establishment received my business a handful of times for various hemming projects. I love supporting local places and this spot is SUPER convenient for me because of where I work and live. I had never been particularly impressed with the owner's work, but I hadn't brought in garments that showed the stitching much either. The last time I went, I dropped off two (identical) dresses that needed to be hemmed very simply; they were just too long. Needless to say, I should have checked the hems at the time of pickup and before I paid $40. I brought them home to try on and the hems weren't even straight - not even close. In addition, it looked like the sewing machine was having issues with the stitching. The stitches were tight, loose, tight, and uneven. In addition, there were visible flaws in the stitching on the front of BOTH dresses. Now, the hems flair out at the bottom and the dress shape has completely changed. I know I was able to do better hems when I first learned to operate a sewing machine in high school Home Ec class. Kanag had my business and has now, officially, lost it. read more

I was traveling when I had a funeral I had to attend unexpectedly. The corporate clothing stores in the area (Men's Wearhouse Etc.) were completely lacking in service not knowing if it would be 2 days or maybe 3 days til they could get to my needs. I came to Kanag's and the service was impeccable, the quality of the suit was far better then anything else at other stores I had encountered and He had it to me within 6 hours. Was in at 10am and he had me the suit by 430pm that same day for the funeral the very next day. The fit was perfect!!! And may I also say that the price was far more reasonable than any others. If you live in the Maumee/Toledo area and are not using Kanag's you are doing yourself a disservice. My highest respect to the owner, he took a very difficult time and made it much easier with one less thing to worry about. read more

Truly terrible (albeit timely). While he was able to take out my suit pants due to my ever expanding butt in a manner that suggested he knew what he was doing, my second visit was a costly failure. I had a very nice suit that I got for a song with the intent of altering it (sleeves, length & chest). The only thing he did well was the sleeves. The entire bottom is horrifically uneven (almost an inch off), the stitching is poor, & the curve is now not smooth. Avoid at all costs! read more

Some classmates and I sold a yearbook ad to Mr. Kanag in the fall. While we were there he told me for all the help I had been, he would give me a free tux rental for my senior prom. When I went back the week before prom to take Mr. Kanag up on his generous offer he refused to stand by his word. Not to mention Mr. Kanag never paid for his ad either. I do not trust this business or him as a business owner. I highly recommend you find somewhere else that's more professional and treats their customers with more respect. read more
