I've used Kana'i junk removal several times during my move from O'ahu to San Diego and they were incredible!

Really wanted to consider this vendor. Extremely responsive and professional to my Yelp request for an estimate. I had followed the instructions on Yelp, uploaded photos and was offered an onsite estimate appointment. They would not provide any info, while almost all the other companies who responded to the estimate request gave: a flat rate (specifying it was only for the items in photo and nothing more), or a price range, or an explanation of the cost based on the volume in their truck (1/8, 1/4, 1/2, etc.), including a rough estimate of how much the items in the photos would fill in their truck. I even asked if they were comparable to another well known vendor and they said they weren't familiar with their rates. I'm not sure how a company can't be aware of their competition's rates but I'm not in the business so...the person responding said theyhad no idea of their pricing. I believe the person responding said only the guys on the truck had the price list related to how much of the truck was filled. Oh well... I did like that they were offering a 10% summer discount. I liked how professional they were even after multiple messages and me declining an on-site estimate. It's just me, but I didn't want to have an on-site estimate with absolutely no idea of what I was getting myself into, because I know I'm not comfortable with doing that then saying, "I'll get back to you." read more

I had a pretty good experience with these guys. They are super responsive even on weekends. They won't give you a firm price or even a rough estimate until they come out. They said, on arrival they will give a firm quote, and if you choose to use them, you can, if not no big deal. They gave a 2 hour arrival window and arrived slightly early. Communication was excellent. The two young guys that came out were professional. Unfortunately we could not come to an agreement on price. My relative I was helping gave me a $400 budget. I'm not sure exactly what their quote was, but I'm guessing it was substantially higher based on their reaction when I told them the budget I had. In the end me and one other guy took everything to the Nimitz refuse transfer station in two loads in a compact cargo van and less than 2 hours. So the bottom line is that these guys are a good company, but if you are willing to do it yourself, you will save everything but the cost of gas. read more

These are good people, super helpful in getting the job done right 100%. My family was trying to help our Dad prepare his home to become a rental. A ton of "stuff" had been accumulated over the years, including an old bathtub from a previous remodel, huge metal desks and shelves, plus an old dryer machine. Most importantly they were on time, hard working and swept up after hauling a ton of stuff from the carport. Crew of three people with a flatbed style dump truck. Called (808) 358-1732 to inquire about their junk removal services. Brooke answered and immediately scheduled an appointment for us to meet. Kana'i and Brook arrived as scheduled and scoped out the area. Later that evening I received an email with a reasonable quote. They said they were flexible and would adjust the price accordingly if we decided to delete or add more items to the list. Communication was incredible. Brooke answered all of my questions up until the day of the demolition. On D day, Brook arrived promptly with Noah and Hunter. We did a walk around, and after finalizing everything, they went straight to work. Brook demolished the outside laundry fenced area which we added last minute with the carpet removal. Noah and Hunter broke down the two outside metal storages, crushed all of the furniture to make room for everything, and then loaded the super heavy tractor and refrigerator into their bins. Everyone worked continuously and was so positive, polite, and professional throughout the day. After filling up their two very large dumpster bins, they swept the area, and even used a magnetic roller to pick up all of the sharp metal objects on the ground. They finished with perfect timing despite all of our last minute add ons. We are very impressed and appreciate this awesome group of people. They are a small team, but they can tackle any major job with their mean, vicious, and hard working ethics. We found Kana'i's thru Yelp, and from the first Yelp messages with Kea till our second hauling (most recent) of junk they were amazing. Kea was fast to respond to messages, and even talking on the phone she was very sweet and helpful. With our first appointment there was a miscommunication but not at fault to anyone, Kea made sure we got an appt the same day. Prompt, reliable, great communication! A visit for the estimate was scheduled for the next day. We received it within the week. They followed up with a phone call to discuss the estimate and to answer any questions we may have. On the day before the clean-up, Kana'i and Brooke visited our property to review the work we wanted done and to confirm what needed to go. They made sure to keep us informed as to space they would need in the street to accommodate the trucks. Kana'i was the first to show up on clean-up day, and the rest of the crew soon followed. They are organized and very respectful throughout the clean-up. At the end of the day, they did a final walk thru and cleaned and swept up all remaining debris. Didn't go with this business as I couldn't get any sort of pricing estimate or even pricing information. I understand they can't know the price until they see the things first hand (I sent a picture in chat) or put it on the truck. But to me that doesn't give me an option to work with my timeline and budget if I can't afford the price they give once there. Also I'd appreciate a general idea on the pricing based on the percentage of the truck my things take up like most others do so I can get an idea potentially. However, they were responsive and seemed to have a decent base rate and good customer service. read more

My experience with Kanais Rolloff was friendly, professional, and efficient from start to finish. When I initially called to schedule a pick up of a derelict washer, dryer, and refrigerator in addition to some other household furniture and items, Brooks' earnest, positive attitude conveyed trust and confidence and put me at ease. She was able to schedule me very soon which was a great help. She and her team proceeded to move and load my items in a smooth, systematic manner without one complaint or remark about how "hard" or burdensome the task might be. They had to disconnect an outside washer and the sink next to it which they accomplished without any ado or drama. We may still have some items to be removed and I would call this company at a moment's notice. A J and D J did a fantastic job removing my old Cal King bed and mattresses, some old wood planks, a bookshelf and my daughter's old desk and chair. My appointment was between 10:00am and 12:00 pm but they arrived a little ahead of schedule; they completed their tasks in about one hour. They were very friendly, and polite and very efficient.
