We went to a party, recently, and the food was catered by Kanak Attack Two. The food was unpalatable because it was too salty. The fried noodles were salty. The kalua pig was especially salty. The amount of salt could be 1/4 of what was used and still be salty. It was terrible! This was not our first experience eating food that was too salty from Kanak Attack Two. After the ceremony, the lunch was Hawaiian cuisine! It was a pleasant surprise! I couldn't believe that everything tasted so good for such a large gathering! We enjoyed fresh poi, sweet pineapple, tasty kalua pig, ono lomi salmon, delicious chicken long rice, authentic haupia (coconut pudding), yummy purple sweet potato, fluffy white rice, and my favorite - squid luau... mmm! There were burners under each pan of hot food. The cold items (haupia, pineapple, poi, and potato) were at the end of the buffet line. Disposable plates, napkins, and utensils were provided. There was so much leftover that my sister went to the store to buy ziplock bags so everyone could take some food home! Wow...this was an excellent way to celebrate a happy occasion! I believe that the price was reasonable (about $12 per person?). We just had to set up, refill the empty pans, and clean up... easy! read more

Kanak Attack Two is the best Hawaiian food catering service on the island. They offer delicious food at an affordable price. My sister used them for her wedding and I'm using them for my son's 1 year old birthday party. It's $12 per person and they give plenty. The menu consists of kalua pig, squid luau (my favorite!), rice, poi, sweet potato, chicken long rice, haupia and pineapple. You can add an extra $2 per person if you want to add poke to the menu. When calling to put in my order they were super friendly and accommodating. They also do kid servings at $6 per child. They do large parties like my sister's wedding that had about 300 guests to smaller parties like mine with about 150 adults and 50 kids--I'm sure they can accommodate even smaller parties as well. I love how easy the catering process is so that we can all enjoy the party. On the day of the party they drop off the food about an hour in advance with everything included, warmers, serving spoons, paper plates and utensils. The only thing you really need is ziploc bags for any extra food. Then you dispose of the disposable pans and return the warmers and serving utensils the next day, how simple is that?! Kanak Attack Two offers great customer service and delicious food all at an affordable price. They make the party more enjoyable and savory .. We chose the lu'au menu for a party of about 50 people. Plenty of food and excellent too - several people asked who catered it since it was so ono. The haupia (individual servings) were the first to go, but I was very impressed with the quality and quantity of food (am always worried not enough!) - my cravings are always chicken long rice and lomi salmon. Plus, they package the serving trays in a Styrofoam container and give you sterno to keep the food warm. Will definitely use them for future catering needs! read more

My office always cater from Kanak Attack 2 because their food is pretty tasty and reasonable for the amount they give. They will deliver if you meet their required amount of servings and will work with you if you need racks or warmers for your food and you can return them after the event. The portions per person are pretty good size and their food are pretty tasty, so we always have leftovers that everyone wants to take home. Very personable and professional service. I don't even know where to begin when it comes to reviewing this place. We were going to go with another caterer but when I went to their store front, I bought a plate lunch of beef stew and it was sour! So, I had to start looking for another option and Yelp came to the rescue. I left a message at the number listed and I received a callback that day, from a lovely lady named Dian. She said she would email me the menu and I could let her know via email or text message if I wanted to use her. Her Hawaiian menu was fantastic and we ultimately went with them because they offered kalua pig and either squid luau or mini laulau's and my husband really wanted both kalua pig and mini laulau's. The prices were more than reasonable and she was willing to drop the price a little bit because we didn't want the haupia. We ended up paying $11/adult and $10/children. Everyone loved the food! People kept asking where we got the food and we received compliments all day at my daughter's first birthday party. We will definitely be using them again in the future! Also, when my husband went to pick up the food, it came in a fantastic food transporter/cooler thing that kept all the food hot! It was still steaming when we pulled it out an hour later to place them onto the table. if you are looking for a fantastic caterer, this is your go-to place, it's definitely ours! I heard of Kanak Attack Two actually from my co-worker, who started going to this place for his lunches. I didn't notice this place when I used to go to Helena's Hawaiian Food, which was basically next door. Guess what? I know now! #cashonly #cheapeats One thing that caught my eye was the fact that it was relatively cheap and the generous portions they give. I was amazed when my co-worker brought his lunch from there one day and he showed me what he bought. I saw several days worth of lunches before I ventured to Kanak Attack Two personally myself and see this place myself. To my surprise, Kanak Attack Two wasn't an actual restaurant, but an industrial kitchen that I assume they do a lot of catering jobs here too, as well as selling plate lunch to us local kamaa'ina who love local comfort food at reasonable prices. The initial encounter here was a little shocking, since discovering that it wasn't an actual restaurant, but it is okay. Cheap eats is the name of the game here and the food they do have is quite good and they give generously. The large portions give me pause, as well as smile too, since cheap means happy to my wallet. Plus, I can eat half of it and save the rest for the next meal at the office. Saving money and cheap eats is what I am all about! The overall experience here was really anticlimactic, but a positive one. As aforementioned before, I expected it to be an actual restaurant, but was a little disappointed. They have calendar menus on the front door to let people know what they're selling at any given day. My co-worker opted to order up for me and we just walked on over one day during a nice Friday during 12:15pm to pick it up. We had a nice conversation about random stuff. The service here was as minimum as you would get at a fast food joint. I just pay for the food, and thank them for just being here. As aforementioned before, they are cash only. That made it difficult for me, since I usually do most, if not all, my transactions on the plastic. Thankfully, at the time, I had cash on me and did just that. The parking is quite limited here, so you'll have to find street parking nearby. Kanak Attack Two is located at 1238 North School Street in Kalihi. If you're like me, bus route 1L, 2, and 2L rumble through here on a daily basis. What I did order from my first experience was beef stew in a bowl for about $5 and a Hawaiian plate that was recommended by my co worker. It was $6. I did not bother to ask what it was called but I just went with it because he said it was really good so I believed him and ordered it to go. Turns out it was good and wanted it some more. The beef stew, on the other hand however, Was delicious too. Definitely needed more rice though for the beef stew to disappear even faster. For what it was worth, I think that this place is a hidden gem. Too bad it was not a actual restaurant but a catering place. Still, it's always a nice place to visit to get your food on. Perfect for a lunch spot on any day of the week. I don't know if they are open for dinner. Best bet is to get here early after you call in for your order. There isn't a place to sit and eat, either inside or outside. I would simply bring this back to my office and eat there. 5 stars! Cheap and good food! Only want to be at times. The previous review was for one of my extracurricular groups; this one is for my work group. We had catered lunch for about 40 people and every single person said that it was delicious! The haupia and the mini lau lau's were the first to go (admittedly, I ate more than my share of the haupia). We got lots of questions about the food and where we got it. Needless to say, there was almost nothing left when our lunch was over! My colleague went to pick up the food and said that parking was a little tight, so she was glad she took a friend. Although my aunty and uncle are friends with KATwo and always cater with them - I know why...their food is tasty and delicious! We enjoyed kalua pig, lomilomi salmon, chicken long rice, haupia, poi, squid luau, and rice - so much food at a decent cost per person. We had KA2 for our son's graduation party last weekend and they did not disappoint. We opted for the Hawaiian menu and let me tell you, it was delicious! First of all, Dian and her family are awesome! I looked and I looked for a caterer four months out and once I talked to Dian, I knew they would be the one. So easy to set up, easy process. Great communication! We ordered for 250 people so delivery was free and included all paper goods. They delivered the food in warmers and a large cooler for the cold stuff. They also provided racks and sternos for the hot food to stay hot. All around professionals. The only bummer, because I was so busy hosting, I wasn't able to take any pictures of the food. I had them for my baby's first birthday today and I thought they were great. I heard of them through my in-laws who know the owners. I also had their Hawaiian plates at a funeral and liked them (which is a big deal because my dad is an amazing Hawaiian food cook). I didn't want to let them know my in-laws knew them so I just called on my own without dropping names. Anyway, I had to leave a message inquiring about catering. I had previously saw their page on Facebook so I already saw the catering menu and decided what I wanted to order. They called back by the end of the day and I got the order in right away. They seems very nice and willing to go to great lengths for good service, like delivery to the location and all paper products, warmers, and coolers included. I had called back a few times to change the menu or ask questions and they were always really patient and gracious with me. The day of the party they came around half an hour before the party started, brought all the food and set up the tables. They left us with the warmers and coolers with the extra food in it to keep the replacement trays the correct temperature and trusted us to just return them after the party (they said in 3 days is fine). The paper products were all really good quality too! I was expecting the typical flimsy catering type napkins and plates but they were nice and thick and great quality. I didn't have much time to eat during my daughters party as I was running around doing stuff but I heard many comments that the food was delicious. We ordered the 3 entree, (garlic chicken, chopped steak, and roast pork) with rice, green and tossed salad. I really liked them and could feel they care for their customers. Really great food and super generous servings. Go early as food can sell out and make you kick youself especially if it's the really Ono one. My favorite is prime rib day when the cave woman side of me comes out (or had a shetty week) and I would order in advance if can as this one goes out in a blink of an eye. We wanted to cater Hawaiian food for our baby shower this past weekend, and everywhere I looked into was either too pricey or no one would return my calls. I called Kanak Attack Two and left a message and my call was returned later that day. I really liked that we could also communicate via text as well. Since our party was at the beach, we had to leave early to set up and had to pick up the food along the way (around 9AM.) I was worried that the food would get cold by the time my guests would arrive and I was worried about the food just sitting out for a few hours. BUT! Diane was a complete life saver! She let us use this food carrier that kept the food hot. And even lent us food racks and some food warmers as well. By the time lunch rolled around, all the food was taken out and it was still hot! We didn't really need to use the warmers either. Also, everyone really loved the food! I had a few people ask me who I catered from and I happily shared it with them. Number 2 is by far superior to the other one they have 3 specials everyday and on Fridays they have awesome hawaiian food and the daily special are the best. Service is excellent great people. Wanted to order a tray of Squid luau but was told that I was too late. Too late as in a week, too late. Apparently they order their ingredients accordingly, and with understanding, had nothing remaining for add ons. My review obviously is not for the outstanding food but rather the customer service I received. The woman who answered my call was apologetic and although I was obviously not ordering anything (today) she took the time to answer all my questions with patience and sincerity.
