I just catered my daughter's birthday party and everything was so yummy! We had spinach salad (so many ravings from my family, so choose this salad!), chow fun, rice, steak, miso chicken, and added on edamame and furikake salmon. Everything was delicious! The price and quantity were also amazing. We had a lot of leftovers. They communicate well through email and delivery was smooth! Highly recommend Hiro's! read more

100000000/10 food & service! Had the Steak, Mahi-mahi casserole and Won Bok Salad at my sister in law's bridal shower and it was so good I had to have it for my son's 1st birthday party. Getting everything set up was so smooth and easy. Even when I accidentally put the wrong date originally, they were very accommodating. Food was delivered on time and everything provided for 100 people. So many party guests complimented the food! I cannot recommend them enough! read more

Mahalo for catering our staff lunch. Everything was perfect! Kaylee was excellent with communication and reserving our date. The food was delivered on time as promised. Every single dish was fresh and delicious. We ordered Menu 2 with won bok salad and added on furikake salmon and fruit platters. The portions were extremely generous and everything was so tasty. Paper goods and serving utensils were included. Although we did not use/need them, warmers and chafing dishes were provided for use. We will definitely use Hiro's again! read more

OMG that won bok salad is delicious! One of our favs to get! (and usually I'm not a salad person) and don't get me started on the Lau Lau! Always perfectly salted and cooked to perfection, I wish they had a store or was on door dash or something. read more

They catered my grad party, the food was amazing. Set up was quick, staff provided warmers to keep the refills warm Set up was nice and organized I chose menu 3 and add on fruit platter read more

Our friends used Hiro's for their party. When they said that they delivered too I was sold! So about 4 months prior to my event I emailed them to secure the date. Kaylee responded quickly and said they couldn't deliver bc they were busy on that day. Shucks! On the day of my party, they called me about 4 hours prior to pick up and said they lost power and they would update me in 2 hours. My mind started spinning, and we started thinking of where else we could cater from on short notice. Thank goodness, they called me back and told me that their electricity came back on, and that the food would be ready on time. We selected menu 1 bc we also catered sushi and heavy pupus from elsewhere. Everything was delicious, especially the chow fun and steak. They let us borrow the chafing dishes and we returned them the next day. I hope to use them again. read more

Since I've never used them before, I was honestly a little skeptical. So just in case, I asked them to cater only 2 specialties for our 150 person grad party (I ordered from multiple caterers.) They brought a portable warmer for the extra trays of food, along with the stainless steel catering heaters. We ordered the mahi-mahi casserole and the miso chicken. Both were delicious and moist! We had a lot of leftovers and guests were happy to take some home! They were professional and nice and I will definitely use them again! Most impressed. read more

Just went to a party last night that was catered by Hiro's and the food was so Ono. I'm kicking myself for not taking more home. Definitely a fan of the furikake salmon. Everything still tasted good the next day. If I ever attend another party that they cater I'm going to be tempted to bring my own Tupperware containers to take home for later. read more

Catered lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... My alma mater, Maryknoll School, invited me (and other alumni) to lunch on campus. They didn't tell us what was on the menu, so lunch was a big surprise... When we arrived at The Alumni Room, the caterer was efficiently setting up in the hallway. There were burners under each hot entree (yummy mahimahi casserole, tender BBQ steak, ono chow funn, and miso chicken) to keep the food warm. The won bok (Chinese cabbage) salad had a delicious garlicy dressing; the edamame looked tasty-spicy with red chili pepper flakes; and the pound cake was moist and decadent! Everything was Broke da Mouth good! Utensils, napkins, and paper plates didn't run out. The caterer cleaned up everything after guests were allowed to take food home because there was such a generous portion! I heard the administrators say that the price per person was reasonable and that they wanted to hire this company again! Who was the caterer? The Hironaka family! It turns out that they had graduates of Maryknoll School from the Classes of 2007 and 2012! It's great that the school supports alumni! I would hire Hiro's Island Catering, too! read more

We wanted a caterer for my daughters first birthday. We had secured a permit for a picnic area at Kapiolani Park but weren't sure if anyone would deliver there. After a few calls to different caterers, we weren't having any luck until we found Hiro's. Their prices were better than the others we saw, and after an email, we found they could deliver to our location. Not only that, they would provide plates, chopsticks, and napkins. Emailing Kaylee was a breeze, and communicating was easy. They also offered chafing dishes and heating elements--for free; theres only a fee if they pick it up. They delivered the food promptly and even let me borrow their insulated food carrier to keep the cold food cold until we served food. Now, here's the best part--THE FOOD WAS ONO. We ordered menu 3 and added salad and edamame. The kalua pig and lomi salmon were delicious. Everyone raved about the BBQ steak. Our event was local friends and family, and if you're going for a local style, luau type event, I highly recommend Hiro's. Ono food, stellar service. We were in need, and Hiro's came to the rescue. read more

I ordered menu 1 and added furikake salmon and toss salad. The food was so good! I had so much people ask at my baby shower where I got the food from and text after my baby shower lol. Glad it was a hit! Highly recommend them. They also delivered the food and provided paper goods etc.... read more

Love love love their food! I secured the date very early in advance for a graduation party. Customized the menu- affordable prices, quality, onolicious food- especially the steak! Generous portions, guests will be satisfied, no one will go home hungry. EVERYONE kept asking about catering during and after the party! Zach is very professional, easy-going, and patient with any and all questions you may have. The food is delivered in warmers and chafing dishes if you so choose- choose to because what he uses to keep the chafing dishes warm is brilliant (metal Sterno chafing frames). Utensils, napkins, serving spoons provided. The only complaint we had... "The food is so hot (from an 8 year old)..." Which is how it should be! Tasty food, served hot for the entire time, no joke! Mahalo, Zach. Until the next party read more

Spinach salad and steak are so good! Their catering prices are also very reasonable.

I ordered the menu #2 with the won bok salad. The steak, mahi, and chix were good. I was a bit disappointed with the won bok salad, which was the dish i was looking forward to. i had their won bok salad during precovid and i was blown away. it's the reason i decided to go with them in the first place. but the salads we received were not the same--not mixed with the dressing and no wontons. it just had the piled won bok topped with sliced mushroom and some other veg. i was hoping it would be mixed since we don't have the supplies to mix them in the venue. it was barely touched...so three large pans gone to waste. i saved the dressing though. also, the delivery was a lil late and, we called to have their supplies picked up early but they still dragged. if i knew the won bok was not mixed, i would've chosen the spinach. now i know and also they only provide chopsticks...no forks, but my fault for misreading what it includes with. other than those...everything was ok. read more

We have had 3 catering lunches from Hiros and they were all a hit! Their signature dish, Hawaiian BBQ steak is sooo tender and flavorful! Service is always excellent and food is sooo good. Mahalo for making our staff so happy! read more

I had a 60th birthday party and Hiros catered for me, they were right on time, their food was excellent! Their chow fun is so good, we also ordered the seafood or mahi casserole, that was excellent, the steak was so soft. The chicken was good, no complaints about anything at all. Many of my guests were talking about the food even days after the party. In fact, one tried to order some food for them for their company party the next day, not sure if she was able to or not. Will definitely use them again, we had already heard from a friend who said how good they were after eating their food at two parties and that's why we decided to try them out for my party. Thank you Hiros! read more

Aloha, in February we catered from HIro's for a party of 50, wow on so ono! Really. If you're looking for a reasonably priced caterer, who cares about quality, go with Hiro's. Everyone at the party raved about the food. My GF from Texas (originally from Hawaii) actually asked if she could come over the next day for left-overs LOL, of course! I will definitely use them again & again. Great local kine grinds, you will enjoy. Mahalo Hiro's! read more

Food is so much a part of our culture- in celebration of both life & death,& I've used Hiro's Island Catering for both a memorial service & college celebration. Hody is so incredible with concept through execution- we actually had the same menu for both. The team was respectful, quiet & thorough in both setting up through tear down. We chose the rice, Loni salmon, Kailua pork, Hawaiian BBQ Steak, Furikake Salmon & Haupia. In our first event we added items for vegetarians & gluten-free attendees. If you want your event to be smooth, stress-free & delicious- call or email. You will NOT be disappointed. read more

Catered these guys for my daughter's 1st birthday party based off of the solid Yelp rating, food was SO GOOD. No complaints here everyone loved it. Easy to work with, and the food was so delicious especially the Hawaiian steak & laulau! read more

Great value for the price. We chose the $10 menu for 50 people for an end of the work day event. It was also somewhat short notice due to some indecisiveness at work. They were quick in responding. They delivered on base to Hickam beach. They were early and delivered the food with disposable eating and serving utensils so we could take as long we wanted. Many folks asked who catered the food and everyone complimented on how incredible the food was. Everyone was happy and everything was perfect. There was plenty of food too. The BBQ steak went fast. We may try ordering more of that next time. The catering gave us a relaxing and delicious end to a hectic day. We definitely will ask them to cater again in the future. read more

Thank you Zac! Our guests truly enjoyed the selection that you prepared for us. Everything prepared was so fresh and delicious, but our guests really loved the spinach salad, miso chicken and Hawaiian bbq steak!! Our guests still talk to us about how they enjoyed the food. Thank you again Zac and we look forward to working with you again!! read more

Hody is such a great person to work with. She's very accommodating as far as getting back to you in a timely manner. One of our good friend had suggested Hiro's Catering to us because she's used them a couple of times in the past for her parties. I decided to give Hiro's a chance to cater my daughters two years old birthday party. I decided to go with Menu 2, which consisted of: white rice, spinach salad, chow fun noodles, miso chicken, Hawaiian bbq steak, and smoked meat. All of those items came out to only $13 a person! Who can beat that?! I thought it's such a great deal. Plus the last time I tried their food, it was so yummy especially their smoked meat!!! What I love about them is that they'll bring EVERYTHING to you. And when I say EVERYTHING I mean they bring chafing dishes, chafing fuel, serving utensils, plates, napkins, and utensils!!! They come to your location and will set everything up for you. Also if they can't come back to pick up their chafing dishes, they will arrange to pick it up from you another day! Their equipment, you can fold it where it's totally flat and easy to transport. Over all I had a great experience with them and I'm already using them again for a New Years party I'm throwing! read more

Just attended a party of which Hiro's catered to and the food was amazing! 10/10! Would do business with them in the future.

Ordered the Won Bok salad, Mac salad, rice, Chow Fun noodles, Furikake salmon, Miso chicken, and Hawaiian BBQ steak for our club event. Dropped off, set up, and picked up were on time. The main entrees were the bomb!! The meat was tender and delicious, salmon perfectly cooked and flavored, and the chicken was good. However, Mac salad was a disappointment and bland. We did not have enough Won Bok salad and chow fun noodles for everyone. We had servers to ensure everyone had enough and they were chincy with proportions to make sure everyone had enough. Booked for 95 people. 80% in attendance were in their 65+. Only 85 people showed up and we barely had enough food to feed everyone. When you pay $1600+ for catering, we expect to have enough food for attendees who eat half of what regular people eat. It's hard to look at someone and apologize to them for not having enough food? They all tell you, "oh it's okay" but the story will go on. If this was a party with friends and family, we would have been out of food half way through for sure. read more

Aloha Spirit Served Daily... When you attend a party with delicious food and outstanding service, you do three things: 1) you ask your friend who did their catering. 2) you put their number on speed dial. 3) you share friends and family so that you can eat their food again! This is how we discovered Hiro's Island Catering. Guy and Hodi are two wonderful people who are committed to providing professional and friendly service and wonderfully delicious, quality food. We can't get enough of their smoked-meat for pupus and won-bok salad. I can assure you that as you continue to enjoy their menu choices, your list of favorites is sure to keep growing! I can't wait for the next party to enjoy the tasty dishes from Hiro's Island Catering! read more

We had, BBQ Steak, BBQ Miso Chicken, Furikake Salmon, Chow Fun, Rice, and Spinach Salad. We had nothing but great comments from everyone that attended the party. This review is long over due! I had contacted Hody at Hiro's Island Catering for a few employee appreciation events. She was professional, efficient and always on-time with our deliveries. The food was delicious and good portions for the party. Due to the fact that we had separate events, Hody was so flexible and understanding with the ordering. At the first event, I was a bit skeptical when I saw the pans of food for a party of 30 and thought she had made a mistake. Hody reassured me that there was more than enough food for everybody. Boy, she was RIGHT, there was more food and then some for the employees to take some food home!!! The food was scrumptious! We especially loved her hawaiian steak and the pasta salad...everything in general was so moist, tender and flavorful. I highly recommend Hiro's Island Catering for your next catering event and I will definitely use in her for my future events as well. read more

What a blessing to have Hiro's Island Catering for my daughter and son-in-law's "gender reveal" get-together! Even with a smaller crowd of 40 people, Hody was more than accommodating in my request. They had several events on that same day, but graciously prepared our menu, and I was able to pick it up at their Halawa kitchen right before heading over to Kailua. (btw, own-transport was my choice) They even provided a warmer which made it so easy to transport the food. Food was outstanding, with so many people asking for the company name! Thank you so much!! read more
