She said I was the second person today to ask her about bathing suits. I'm going to Mexico next Tuesday, so I was needing an extra bathing suit for the pool and the beach. Instead of saying they didn't have any and let me go, she suggested that I check out a department store like Walmart, Target, etc. I can truly appreciate such stellar customer service, especially since I've been in the retail industry. She wasn't super salesy either, some places will try to upsell you on accessories or clothes you don't need. Because of this experience, I'll definitely be back in the future for outfits. They have a lot of beautiful clothes that are also affordable, and that's what initially caught my eye. Kudos to their marketing and merchandise team for grabbing my attention from afar. Their selection was great -- everything from coats, dressier dresses, sweaters, tops, skirts, jeans, shoes and accessories like handbags. Staff were so friendly and helpful; this is really what you want in a shopping experience. I fall at the bottom of their size range and because of my height sometimes have a hard time finding clothes that fit, but I found two beautiful coats (one a Tall!) and an amazing dress, and the total for these three items was less than $130, which is what a new coat might cost at Land's End (the brand of one of the coats I bought here)! I will definitely be back, and will check out the second shop in Rockford when I'm there for the Japanese Gardens. Helpful hint: my GPS told me I had arrived but I didn't see the sign and so circled the building needlessly: it's in the window!

While Torrid does tend to be expensive at full price, their sales allow me to find things at decent prices. Whether you shop online (where everything is typically at least 35% off) or in store, you can some solid items to add to your closet. I personally am at the loyalist level, so online shopping is that much easier for me because I don't have to pay shipping and makes it an obvious choice to buy when I find the extreme sales that make items less than $10.
