Avoid! Is there a way to give zero - or negative!!- stars??? The front desk staff was not knowledgeable , interested or professional, and the actual dental exam area was much worse- there was no privacy, X-rays were taken in the same area as the exam / treatment area, the dentist never introduced himself and the hygienist was pleasant but extremely rough. This office should never be on a listing for those with dental insurance , and should only be the absolute last resort of anyone who cares about their dental health. AVOID!!! Only go there if you need very basic work. That office is missing a lot. They don't have an oral surgeon therefore they can't extract teeth. They don't have a Periodontist or Specialist. And they can't make temporaries. They want you to remain toothless or YOU figure it out. Their plan is to zig-zag you to various other offices to get work completed while they collect insurance wherever possible. Your best plan is to find a full-service office. Every review before mine is accurate. This office is always overbooked. The office it self is very run down and just looks unhygienic. Which is unacceptable while COVID is on the rise. I'm always rushed in the chair because there are always so many patients. The doctor is always jumping back and forth between patients and I know tools are not being cleaned properly. Kane Dental of Hempstead is a very pleasant place. The staff there are very nice and welcoming people. My dentist Dr. Nashed is very nice and makes great jokes. He gets the job in a timely manner and very minimal pain coming from a person that doesnt like needles. My dental assistant Karina is so sweet and very gentle. She makes great conversation and knows how to hold the dental instruments without it hurting. They are a great team together and definitely a 10/10 in my book. read more

2 stars solely because the hygienist was really sweet to my daughter. Had a 3:00pm appointment for my 2 year old daughter and waited 30 minutes to be seen for approximately 5 minutes total. Ridiculous waste of time. The dentist told the hygienist she could apply the concentrated fluoride to her teeth. That about summed up the entire visit. -_- She said there were no cavities and that was it. I had to express a concern on one of her teeth and the dentist's exact words were, "that's just a little discoloration. These aren't her permanent teeth, they're going to fall out anyway".... Oh ok sir so in the meantime I should just let "discoloration" turn into cavities?? Thanks for nothing. We WILL NOT be seeing you in 6 months ! **** In response to David Kane: You should take a course on customer service sir. My review is far from harsh. I would've given 1 star but as I stated the hygienist was nice to my kid. However, I've been to a few dental offices and yours was a joke. Step up the level of service and stop wasting people's time and money. The office needs a serious upgrade. It's built like a clinic and very outdated. Those facts that I previously left out of my review can be considered harsh but trust they are all factual. Instead of taking the time out of your day to respond so defensively to a bunch of honest reviews from people who regret stepping foot into your dental offices (all three locations), maybe you should fix the obvious problems with the level of service you and your office provides! Wait was long despite my appointment, hygienist have a full blown conversation over me for the entire cleaning and the dentist rushed through my exam. I have never seen such poor customer service and complete disregard for a patient in my life. Even after I expressed my concern with my cavities, the dentist told me it was staining and looked no further nor did he try to help me figure out what to do about it. Never again. -- Your response to my review goes to show why the customer service at your location is so poor. Take some accountability and instead of focusing on one portion of my review how about the apologizing for the lack of respect for a patient in the chair and a promise to work on making sure your employees address concerns that patients have. The first thing they teach in public relations is acknowledging the mistake, apologizing for it and then using the feedback to make your business better. I will not be calling the office because I have switched dentists. To go somewhere where the patients time is respected and the hygienists and dentists don't talk over the patient like they don't exist. read more

In the time of Covid it s unconceivable to see how unkept and unclean this place is. I observed the following but not limited to: unsused tissues on the floor and other residus. No running water in some chairs, no PPE in the waiting room,which tell me that no deep cleaning was done to protect the clients. The people are very friendly and courteous as usual. Unfortunately. I wish there was a lower rating than 1 star!!! This place is ridiculous. They only care about what they can bill NEVER the patient. We went here in an emergency situation - had to wait a very long time even with a scheduled appointment. The girls in the office were more concerned about gossiping than being helpful!! My husband sees the dentist - has a tooth pulled. We then speak with Natasha who tells us what the next steps are.....that was it. NO HELP at all with the insurance company NO HELP at all in understanding the severity of his issue. I would never recommend this money hungry dentist to anyone!!! Oh and forget about communication with the staff they don't even turn their phones back on - 2x now called after their message says out to lunch until 1:30p - 45 minutes you are told to leave a message still no LIVE person & then no one calls you back. read more

Despite having been there once before with a 2 star experience AND reading ahead of time all of the negative reviews, I feel we got what we deserved the second time around, a Zero Star Experience. If you want to know what glass feels like, just stand at their front reception counter for five minutes all while the receptionist is 2 feet in front of you talking on the phone and does not even look up at you or let alone acknowledge you! Totally unacceptable in these days of customer service. Then when we tried to leave they had their second means of egress door locked. Illegal in the State of New York and carries a fine of thousands of dollars. Hopefully the owners read this before God forbid someone gets killed in a fire! This was by far the worst dentist appointment i have ever been to. I have two children whom i scheduled an appointment for. To start it off i recieved a text confirmation for onli one child with the wrong date. Being a busy single mother i payed it no attention and went to the schedule appointment i made over the phone. This isnt my first time at this dentist office but it is my last. There are all new staff. The office manger is extremely rude to patients and staff. As a mother i watch everything that is around my children and it was a very negative environment. The young lady that did the x-ray was extremely nice and patience with my 4 yr old. My children were seen by Dr. Alla altho she explain things very well. Once again im a single mother of two an 8 yrs old and 4 yrs old and all i heard from her were that they both need root canals. They both have small cavities that can be filled but nothing was done except a cleaning. My 8 yr old daughter fall off a bike and chipped her front tooth and its been 2 weeks since the incident happen she went to the hospital and i was told to take her to her dentist so that they can further fix it once again nothing was done. The only thing i recieved were x-rays and referrals to a different dentist. This place was useless. read more

I usually see the hygienist, Marie. She's very personable and professional. She does a marvelous job cleaning my teeth and I highly recommend her. I have had a morbid fear of dentists since childhood. I used to have to be knocked out just to have a cleaning. .. yes, it was that bad. Fast forward to today. I had a tooth pulled with nothing but novacaine. With no problem or anxiety what so ever. My experience at Kane dental began with a long wait, maybe 20 minutes after the appointment time despite having arrived over 15 minutes early and only a few others in the waiting room, which I suppose could be worse. My father was there for a routine cleaning. They took x-rays, all of which lasted ~10 minutes and 5 minutes of consultation. They said that he needs fillings on some teeth and cleaning as well, and sent us on our way to schedule another appointment with the receptionist. While waiting for the inattentive man behind the counter to help us, I decided to go back and talk to the dentist to ask why we should schedule another visit when we're already here and my father could get the fillings and cleaning done today, since he had taken the day off of work. He shrugged me off and said I can figure it out with the receptionist, who was still glued to a phone and didn't even look our way to acknowledge our presence. After 5 minutes of waiting, with phone still in ear, he simply asks what day and gives us an appointment card. I ask him the same thing I had asked the dentist, and he says they're too busy and everything will fall behind schedule if they squeeze him in now, mind you the waiting room was empty when we were called in, and there was 1-2 people out there when we left. He was highly impatient in his reply, all the while continuing his phone conversation, which I couldn't even tell if it was business related or a personal call. What type of dentist office schedules appointments and doesn't at the very least do the routine cleaning?? I guess more visits means more money in their pockets, who cares if their customers have to take an extra day off work. I will be switching my father to a new dentist and will recommend anyone that can go elsewhere, do the same. I might have given 2 stars since the x-rays were expedited rather quickly and the hygienists were friendly, but honestly, it was a 1 star experience. Horrible! horrible! I wish I can give this dentist no stars. Do not use this place, all they want is your money. They can care less about you. They will make up stuff you really don't have. They said I had 6 cavities, but this other dentist said I only had 3. Then they said I had some type of disease, but the other dentist said I definitely don't have that. Then they said I needed like 3 cleanings because of plaque, like what?? I never even heard of that. I only needed one cleaning. Fyi the other dentist I've seen has much better reviews and my family and I have used him for 30 years and he has always been honest. I just tried this place because they accepted my insurance and it is closer. They kept calling me to come back and finally i said noo please stop calling thanks. What doctor keeps calling and harrassing you to come back? Oh and they kept saying I need to pay $400 out of packet because insurance didn't cover all three of the cleanings. So unprofessional. I am not the only person that had problems. This place is literally a joke.. I do not know how these people are still in business. read more

He talked me into getting a crown, it fell out a few times and then he said the only option was to take it out after I spent $600. His assistant was rude and spoke to me like I was stupid because he refused to answer my questions and left me with her. The only helpful people were the front desk. I would not recommend this office to any one who appreciates good quality treatment. I took my daughter in on 11/17/17 because she had a tooth ache. We arrived on time she was called in for x-rays right away and then we were sent to the waiting room for almost an hour. She got a cleaning done which, I was never requested to have it done. They never bothered to ask if that was what I wanted them to do that day but I guess they needed to be paid for doing something. The Dr. finally came in saw her for 2 minutes to tell me we need authorization for a root canal. We walked to the front desk and I was told they would be sending out for insurance authorization which usually takes 5 days. I called on 12/5/17 to check on the status of the authorization. Rhoda who claimed to be the office manager was the one who answered my call kept going back and forth putting me on hold and finally tells me she does not see anything on their system. I then questioned wether they even sent out a request for the authorization and she starts giving me an attitude. She tells me there is nothing else they can do, that they will submit the request again. I again tell her why was I not called to be made aware so I can contact the insurance company and she literally starts screaming at me. I request to speak to the doctor or practice owner and she tells me they are unavailable. I then call one if their Suffolk locations to try to reach someone and advise of situation. Spoke to Barbara very nice on the phone and she tried to get her manager to come to the phone but of course he/she were busy. She advised she would send out an email to both the manger and owner and someone would get back to me. It is now 12/08/17 and I have not received one phone call from any one from Kane Dental as of yet. This office is unprofessional and obviously lacks respect for its patients. I have been going to Kane Dental in Huntington for several years. Beside the usual cleanings and X-rays I have had a root canal and several teeth capped that had extensive unsightly silver fillings.
