After my routine annual physical (which is 100% covered by my insurance BC&BS) I was sent a bill for $210. I pulled the bill from their portal and there was no detail as to what the charge was for. I contacted FPCA via their portal and asked for a detailed bill which took a couple of tries. After reviewing the billing, I still couldn't understand why I had a bill for my annual physical which is 100% covered. So, I spoke with someone in FPCA billing, and I was told that since a regular prescription I take every day was refilled during my visit, this constituted as an additional visit. In all the years I have been going to them, I have never been billed for an extra visit for the doctor entering a prescription refill for me, and I wasn't told during the visit that I would be charged for two visits. I find this HIGHLY DECEPTIVE. I cannot recommend FPCA and I will be looking for another provider outside of FPCA.

What made this even more frustrating is that other walk‑ins who arrived at the same time or after me were checked in without an issue. The mixed messages and inconsistent treatment were extremely disappointing, especially when this visit was important for my ongoing care.
