We needed a a few things for our new apartment and hadn't enjoyed the experience with salespeople or the prices anywhere else. But after reading these other reviews about bad experiences I'm surprised no body else had our man Jesse help them out. He was genuinely the nicest guy I've met since moving to Florida. Don't do it. Yeah the sales people are nice. They make a ton of promises about how great it is. How their warranty is easy and if something breaks they take care of it no problem. Total lie. We bought a ton of furniture after losing our home in the hurricane. The recliner broke inside of a year. Store says not our problem - call moto. Moto says - not our chair - call the store. Store says call moto. Then the store figures out that it isnt moto - we have to call another company. That servepro company says its inside a year - call the store. Store says oh - we can send out someone to look at it. But we dont repair it. Once they look at it - they will get back in a week or two to tell the plan - order parts or whatever and in a few months you might get it fixed. read more

We bought a chair on Sunday! Paid in full plus delivery cost! I ask my sales guy if they will haul away the old chair he said no! So i ask will they move into garage he said yes! In December 2025 I purchased a daybed with trundle for my daughter. I was told that the manufacture may not be making anymore of that model and I needed to wait to hear back. Totally fine with me. I was notified that Kanes would not receive another model (Gulf Breeze Charcoal Daybed/Trundle) and they would sell me the floor model for a significant discounted price. Well I had been trying to keep in touch with my sales person and got no responses, so when I went in to pick up the final piece I was told I was given a 50$ (about) discount. According to my payment information I was not. The original price was $699.99 and on my sales slip that is what I was charged. Since the product was the floor model there were minor defects on it like small tears on the back and general wear and tear from other customers testing out the product. While I was there to pick up the final piece I was told they couldn't do a discounted price due to it being a lease with Acima, and that they had no idea if they could give me a discount. After calling Acima they also sent an email for an updated price on the bed and received no response about that. I never received a follow up email or call with a discounted price. I had no problem with purchasing the floor model but not for the full price. I was told it would be significantly reduced and the communication was not handled and I was charged full price for something that was essentially used. I have been buying furniture from them since 2017 and never had a problem and now I won't be returning since they handled this situation very poor! So disapointing. read more

We purchased the Jack Zeller sofa, loveseat and chair & 1/2 set for $2500 from the Kane's location in Brandon. The FIRST WEEK, the wooden armrest support in the sofa cracked as I was using it to for stabilization when I stood up. Then, all the furniture started doing it. Then, the sofa began to lose structural support in the center. Essentially, if someone sat in the middle, the two people on the end would lean/drift to the center because of that lack of support. Well I called Kane's "customer support" for resolution; long story short, the sent someone over to "evaluate and take photos. That person then went back and reported that he couldn't find any issues, even though he sat in it and slumped inward just like we did. We got a call saying corporate couldn't do anything because they spoke with Jack Zeller and was told, based on photos, the furniture was within manufactures" standards." Well, they must have some pretty LOW standards if this meets theirs. I can only hope that both Kane's and Jack Zeller are out of business by this time next year because ripping off customers is not a sustainable path for prolonged success. Previously, I posted online an review complaining about what a crappy organization and business Kane's Furniture is. In addition to the poor quality furniture, the customer service is ridiculous, and they make you pay for items that you don't actually receive for a full year after purchasing. We walked into a Kane's store, and purchased literally an entire houseful of furniture. As you can guess, that was quite a bit of money. One would hope that that would carry some weight, and there would be some attempts to keep the customer happy. Once Kane's has your money, there's no concern with delivery date, communication, etc. I left a review, and of course, I got a response from the customer service team, requesting that I contact them via email. I did just that, and guess what? I have not heard a peep, since. Even their token attempt to appease me, calls far short of what I would expect from a company that would never get a dollar of my business, of any of my clients' business, any of my friends' business, or even my worst enemy's business. This company is unbelievable. I've never seen such callous incompetence, terrible communication, and sub standard quality in my life. Do yourself a favor: don't buy furniture from canes. If you do, you might as well go to a homeless camp and pick up some spare couches to tide you over. You'll be out the money, and will still need a place to sit. While I am still very much pleased with the beautiful couch I purchased from Kane's I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and poor customer service at the Brandon location. I ordered a couch and glider back in February of 2019, I paid $250 upfront and financed the rest. My salesperson Seth called me a few days later to say the couch I wanted had been discontinued but they would offer me the one from the sales floor at a discounted rate. I decided not to get the glider after all but realized once I received my first bill that the $250 I paid initially had not been deducted from my total. I called the store in April and was assured that I would receive the appropriate credit. Fast forward to June and my account is still screwed up. I spoke with the service manager Ciara this time. She informed me that the upfront money I paid could not be put toward my financed amount but instead I would be refunded within 3-5 business days. First of all, that's extremely stupid to me. What was the point in paying anything upfront if it would not go toward the total purchase price? And if I was owed a refund why had they held on to my money for the last three months? Nonetheless I said that was fine and she was kind enough to send a confirmation email when we hung up. A week has now gone by and do you think I've received my refund? Absolutely not... I called the store for a third time today and requested to speak to the store manager who of course refused to take my call. I was given the run around again, being told that the refund was rejected by their accounting department and they supposedly were not made aware of it until today when I called. *inserts eye rolling emoji* sure, likely story. "Give it 72 hours and you'll see the refund," is the last thing I was told. Again, the couch itself is a beautiful piece and I cannot complain about the price. But this store/team could certainly use A LOT of improvement when it comes to customer service and their follow-up. Despite having $10,000 in credit with Kane's I will never step foot in their store again unless it's to speak with the manager if there is not a $250 deposit into my account within the next three days. read more

Horrible customer service! If I could put negative stars I would. We ordered our couch December 6, 2020, we received 2 middle pieces a couple weeks after and now we are waiting on the 2 corners. All they have done is delay the delivery since then. I called the store in March because we wanted a refund. It was beyond unacceptable and the manager stated they would give us a refund for the 2 corner pieces but not for the ones we have at home. What am I going to do with 2 random pieces in my house. It's not my fault there is a delay, it's your fault for selling it and giving out false delivery dates. So I called corporate and spoke with Michelle Gomez because the workers at the Brandon location are useless. She said it would be here in May since it shipped in February. Now here we are in May, I called today and they are saying it wont be here until July. If all your store is going to do is sell furniture but not have it delivered until 8 months after then don't sell anything. Will never step foot in a Kane's furniture once I get my full refund. I purchased a leather couch and other furniture from Kanes in Port Charlotte. The couch was on back order from March 2021 until finally getting here in October 2022. In less than 9 months the headrest on one side has worn through the leather. Was told this is very common with people's sweat and prescriptions that people use. I have had leather furniture for 40 plus years and never had this problem. Was told by Mark that they don't make leather like they used to! Also even if I purchased the fabric protection that it still would not be covered. They dud to their credit send someone out to see if it could be repaired or replaced. No luck and was told I am on my own to deal with it. Asked if they would swap it out to make it right and was told that's not going to happen. I have bought lots of furniture from Kanes but never again. I bought a leather sofa with power recliners in March 2022. Now May 1st 2023 I call them about the stuffing falling right out of the bottom and feeling very uncomfortable and flat and I'm told there is nothing they can do about it. This is NOT some cheap piece of furniture either. This was a $4000 couch. I even spent extra for 2 extended warranties. I for the electronics and 1 for stains and tears, and of coarse they say furniture falling apart is not covered. 1 year is all a $4000 couch is supposed to last??? I don't think so. I ordered dining room set for Kane's in Fort Myers FL back in July, and I paid a deposit. They assured me set would be available and would be delivered by Labor day. Waited until mid September - no delivery and no contact from Kane's. Called and was told that the my order was cancelled. That was news to me, especially since they kept my deposit. Said that would reorder it and deliver it in December. Called for an update and was told that the set had to be shipped from Asia and would be delivered at the end of December. They also encouraged me to pay the balance due on the set now. WTF???. I am now attempting to get a refund of my deposit. We purchased a table and chairs from Kanes recently. The table and bar height chairs were delivered and all seemed well. We noticed when sitting in the chairs a lot of crunching noises. Upon inspection, 6 of the 8 chairs had zero of the screws installed in the lower braces. 2 of the chairs had attempted screws placed in them improperly with the screws popping through the outside of the legs. We attempted to return the chairs to North Lakeland, FL Kanes only to deal with the rudest people ever. Upon arrival, we had to interrupt the employee (LaLa) sitting at the computer having a call with her son discussing her sons haircut with her airpod in her ear and phone on the counter while texting too. Apparently she had other things to do than help us as the customer. She refused to get a manager to assist. Once I carried the chairs in, the general manager finally appeared and they agreed to return the 2 two chairs and send someone to install screws in the other 6. Two weeks later, we still have not received credit for the 2 chairs. read more

Very disappointing! I purchased a bedroom set there in December 2022. Once it was delivered, there was a small knick in one of the drawers. I was going to refuse delivery, but the delivery guy said that could easily be corrected and to just call the service department. I called and they sent a service man out who said he had to order the paint. I called once a week for three months and kept getting the runaround about the paint hadn't come in, blah blah blah and finally just gave up. it's been over a calendar year and they never contacted me to follow up. Final update! When I didn't receive a response (ignore those lies below about not receiving an email...they ABSOLUTELY did), I went back to the store again, and they connected me with someone. Ultimately, they acknowledged that a typical sectional should last 8 years or more, and then proceeded to offer me a measly $100 credit to purchase new junk from them. Oh, and they'd take their junk back with them. In return, I'd have to sign something stating I won't sue them. No thank you. So, if you like waisting money on furniture that won't last, cleaning up bits of material that flake away every day and paying an extra couple hundred bucks to have their junk hauled away after a couple years, than Kane's is your place! read more

Bad customer service and poor quality furniture. My daughter bought a reclining sectional which broke within 30 days. They ordered a part which kept being delayed-when I complained some more they decided since it was less than 30 days; they'd replace the pieces. Unfortunately; they gave me the run around for over 2 months; giving me dates it would come in than saying it was still back ordered, not calling and keep in contact as promised. I ordered a bedroom set June 2021. After many many calls and trips to see when our furniture would be delivered, we finally got a call the second week of March. Delivery set for Match 19th. After waiting 10 months for our furniture, the footboard is ruined. It has a hole in it. Not a little hole, but like half the footboard is missing. I know they will make it right. We call to get a new one, we are told middle of July. Are you freaking kidding me. Then we go and talk to our salesperson and he has a manager call! They are going to make things right by offering $100 off! REALLY. That's less than 5% of our order! Really wish I cancelled and found something different! What a headache. Just a little BUYER BEWARE.... Here's my bed set from Kane's... After only 4 years my bed frame is cracked due to this cheap particle board that they call quality. Lifetime guarantee ? That's a joke. They don't honor it, they simply make excuses as to why you have to pay to get your furniture fixed. (Telling me my mattress was too heavy for the frame- well that's funny because I was STILL provided a lifetime guarantee when purchased because they "swear by their quality furniture"). Not to mention the extremely rude staff - one who hung up on me when I asked for a manager and then the rude manager himself (Joe Dusek) who condescendingly talks down to you like you're a child and then hung up on me! Rep comes out takes pictures and store calls me a week later to tell me that the warranty claim is being denied based on "Normal Wear and Tear". WTF, six months old and the back of the chair is broker. We have no kids, no jumping up and down. I then challenge the decision and then get a complete run around. If I could have put 0 stars I would have. I purchased a $1000 dining set in August it took 6 weeks to be delivered and less than 3 months after having it has 3 large bubbles on it. These were not caused by moisture, these were caused by a regular plastic cup with no condensation at all sitting on the table. No spills, no moisture as the warranty people claimed as they told me they would not cover the defect because they said we caused it. This is a lie!!!!! The service was terrible at the store and the warranty service has been even worse! I will never buy anything else from Kanes and I would tell anyone thinking about buying from them to try someone else. I had my son and fiancé coming and a recliner broke so I was looking for a place with an in-stock replacement. I found an acceptable replacement at Kane's that I could get the same day if I picked up. I asked the salesman about sales and he said that item was not discounted but could allow 3%. Wanting to get the task behind me I went ahead, paid that price picked up the recliner. Upon return home I saw the Kane's ad which said 20% off anything in the store. I do accept some blame for not doing my homework and I'm sure the sales staff got a good laugh at my mistake but the sales experience reminded me of the movie "Tin Men". This is the worst experience I have ever ha purchasing furniture. We purchased two lounge chairs in May. We were promised delivery in June. We did not get the chairs until September. The power units failed in less than four hours on both chairs. It took two weeks to get a repairman out. He fixed one chair. He told me he had to go the warehouse to get the part for the other chair. Said he would get back to me the next day. He didn't. I called the store they said they would get back to.They never did. I'm still waiting on a call from them. read more

They delivered furniture in December and said it was brand new. One of the chairs was destroyed. They wouldn't take it back. I had a issue in the past with my couch that I purchased and I will say after I complained to corporate office they did make things right. I went back today to purchase a bedroom set for my daughter and was very upset with the sales person when I walked in. I told him I was here to see Brian and I just want to to look around and will come back later. Well that sales person followed me all over even though I said I did both want to be bothered. If it was not for my past experience with Brian Newsome I would not have come back! Being military and purchasing furniture in different states and furniture store I have learned a lot of them don't live up to what they sell you. I purchased a dining room table in April and 6 months later, the table began to lift and peel in different areas. I contacted Kanes because this is a fairly new table and it is already damaged. They had a representative come inspect the table and notified me that this is from usage. When I replied that it is a dining room table and should be intended for usage they referred me to an outside repair company. I purchased this table for about $900 and it didn't even last a year. I am a new home owner and cleaned this table almost every night after dinner. I'm not sure how I could've avoided this damage, but I will never purchase anything from Kanes again.
