Great place to get your haircut. I have really straight hair so it's not easy to find a barber that can cut and fade it well. She also shampoos and styles your hair. She is a very nice lady and has great prices, especially compared to the places I've been to in ktown or sgv. If it's your first time it might be hard to spot the building. She has parking through her small driveway in the back but you can also park on the street. The interior and her setup is very nice and clean. read more

I got lucky to get a same day appointment on a Sunday. I'm not really sure what haircut I want as long as it will suit my face, and I'm so happy with the result. I asked if they provide hair treatment.. once again, I got lucky that his son Andy is also available to provide the service. Even got a consultation on hair color, which will definitely be back for it. The salon from outside looks unappealing, but when you get inside, it's clean, simple, and nice. It is an impulse decision for me to get a haircut and try this place, and I'm glad I did. I am so thankful and happy for the experience. Left the place with gorgeous, soft hair. For many reasons I would not recommend this place! Not only was I charged $50 for a haircut- )no hair wash). She cut my hair in Every way I told her Not to! I told her no blunt cut or V in the back - I got not only a V but uneven and choppy! I asked for my layers to go up to my chin the go to my shoulders! I asked her to just make sure my bangs were EVEN... she cut them SHORTER! I not look like a CHINA DOLL!! And then she says Cash only! Thankfully I had my friend with me . Truly a hidden gem. I drive by this shop all the time but have never noticed it due to the inconspicios appearance of the outside. I probably would've continued to do so if it weren't for yelp. Pretty much since I've moved to Pomona, I have been in search of a barber who's skilled in the usage of both clippers and scissors. My mind was blown upon entering by the stunning beauty and vibe that radiated from the interior of the shop that was masked by the inconspicious appearance of the building from the outside. Prior to discovering Kang's beauty salon, I always left with uneven layering of the longer parts of my hair with a clean fade or a good scissor job along with a bad fade job. With this shop, you get the best of both worlds. As if that in itself is not already rare enough, to my utter surprise she even gave me symmetrical sideburns. Customer service is excellent. The lady not only takes her time to get the nitty gritty details, she offers a complimentary wash and rinse at the end. For the price range, I have yet to find any shops that come close to matching the quality of service that this place has provided. I will most definitely be returning here for all my future cuts. I am extremely picky when it comes to getting my hair cut. I actually do not tolerate poor haircuts. My hair stylists are Koreans, usually because of their knowledge of hair style trends. Coming to Pomona, I used to return to San Diego to get my haircuts. After my regular hair stylist moved away from San Diego, I could not find a good a hair stylist in San Diego. Thus, I resorted to finding one in Pomona. After thorough searches, I found Selina in Kang's Beauty Salon. Selina does everything catered to your haircut. She is very kind and caters to your hair styling desire. Feel free to interrupt her and provide your own sense of adjustments to your hair. Your hair will be washed/massaged. She is Korean and can understand English. Men's haircuts are $15. She provides a card for every 9 haircuts, you get one free. You can park in the back lot. The salon is extremely clean. Be sure to call ahead of time to make sure she's free. She is not open on Mondays, but every other single day she is usually open. I have recommended her to my friends and will continue do so. She has exceeded my expectations on every haircut. I am grateful I have found someone who can cut my hair to my own preferences and style. (Don't do the same mistake I did and get a haircut every 2-3 months/8-12 weeks. You'll look back into your pictures and regret why your hair didn't look good!) They most important key to styling men's hair is the DIRECTION you blowdry your hair. I repeat, to properly style your hair, you need to blowdry the right DIRECTION. That means if you want your sides to go down, blowdry downwards. If you want the top of your hair to be stuck up, then properly blowdry the top area of your hair upwards. For hairpsrays, use Tigi Bed Head Hair Spray over Tresemme Two Extra Hold. For hair wax, I have used green/black/purple Gatsby, American Crew, Gel, Tigi Bed Head Wax, and will say KMS California HairPlay Molding Paste ranks supreme and the best. read more

I was in the area looking for any open barber for my son and I found her on yelp around 655pm; immediately called her and she still picked up very politely and didn't mind at all to cut my son's and/or mines as well. Came through and first and overall impressions are: 1. Clean looking shop from the inside. 2. A+ customer service/very polite. 3. A little pricey for my son's fro-hawk, but her style was 5/5 and well worth the $15 + tip Overall 5 stars because she was very courteous yet very professional with my son and I. Gave $5 tip. *Bring picture(s) of what you'll like and explain and she can pretty much cut it like that (depends on if your hair length is long enough for that style) *she doesnt speak too much english and is reticent, so be understanding as she is trying. I love Mrs. Kang. I have been going to her for about three years now. I was looking for someone who could do Asian hair. My hair is difficult because it is coarse and has loads of cow licks. She spends a lot of time on your hair and she wants you to look great. I've always left loving my haircut. It also grows out very well. She is very reasonable, so give her a good tip.
