    Ahi tower
    Jessica R.

Amazing sushi! Great customer service. So sad that not very many customers were here. Although not everything on the menu was available for whatever reason, what we did have was so good. The ahi tower was fresh & a perfect start to my Mother's Day lunch. Will return!

We opted for the buffet and there was plenty of food to select from. Loved the Egg Rolls being they are very hard to find now a days. All of the Chicken and shrimp fried rice was excellent. Loved the fish and the fresh shrimp to peel. Only down side was that they did not have Low-Sodium Soy Sauce. There were 8 of us and did not hear any one complain about any of the meal at the table. Two I always come back to bookend the same shopping center, Miller's Smokehouse and Narunya's. I have eaten Thai coast to coast. They all claim authenticity, but quality varies widely. Out of all that I've tried, Narunya's is a favorite. The restaurant itself has an interesting layout. There is no parking just for them, so it can be a challenge. There is a small lot on the side, but you have to jump the curb to access it. It has an indoor balcony area with plentiful seating, though I've never seen anyone up there. Every time I've come in, the food is excellently prepared and presented. Service has always been attentive with regular checking to ensure the food is good and my needs met Desserts are magnificent! Really, the only thing that gives it a demerit is the programming on their deplorable credit card machine. It is programmed not only to calculate your tip after tax, but also after the excessive credit card usage fee of 3.5%. So beware and select either custom tip or a lower percentage unless you like giving businesses unearned income.

Even with some menu items i.e. the chicken tangsuyuk or soups have been weird at times and ive had to say im sorry i dont think I can eat it. They were kind enough to replace the soup with another soup but it makes me wonder why the consistency or flavor changes. The side dishes are the star of the meal for me. I love their sweet soy potatoes always hits the spot for me. Their kimchi is solid and their rotation of other side dishes is always a nice surprise. The lady makes her rounds from time to time and I believe the sound is there too they're both very down to earth and nice people. I will say two of my all time fav dishes are their galbitang and their dolsot bibimbap can't go wrong if I stick with either of those dishes. I was slightly confused the very first time I tried them in late 2024 and felt like I was walking into a sushi bar, but glad they make korean dishes. The service is pretty good, some of them are very polite and helpful sometimes it can get busy and it's hard to get the waiters attention. The feel is a sushi restaurant with the counter in front where they make rolls not too contemporary but not very old either. Go for the service and try some korean dishes a little more expensive than I would like as the dishes are not consistent and some of the dishes are definitely a fusion or a slight twist on the original flavor or tradition taste. I haven't tried the sushi so I can't speak on that but I have seen quite a few customers order it.

I would like to think that I would've enjoyed it more had I done hibachi or gotten their specialty rolls. I ordered over the phone for pickup as I couldn't find an online option. This was an easy process, and the food was ready for the time I scheduled. The staff were very friendly. I got the pork katsu bento box, which comes with a decent number of pork katsu pieces, steamed white rice, four California roll pieces, Nami tempura, and house salad. I normally love bento boxes, but this one was probably my least favourite I've had. It was sufficient for food (I had leftovers), but none of the items stood out, and some were worse than others. The pork katsu itself was fine, but the sauce tasted very artificially sweet. It had a strange taste. The California roll lacked flavour. The Nami tempura was interesting. I couldn't tell what was inside. Maybe vegetables? I'm not sure. The sauce for that one also tasted strange, but the tempura had a decent taste. The house salad had a very weird-tasting sauce too, and the vegetables were a pain to eat just because they were so bland.

Our waitress was "Augie" (short for Augustina) The food was the big surprise. The bread was amazing as was the dipping oil. The garlic butter with honey was wonderful on the bread. While the eggplant was excellent the butterfly pasta I could have eaten every day. The green beans were a little over cooked but still not bad. I will include a picture of the HUGE slice of chocolate cake I received. I will be eating it for a week. The price for four people was $150. So it was not outrageous. Recommended.

The evening started with a game of Restaurant Hide and Seek. After being seated, we sat for quite a while wondering if we were part of a social experiment--no water, no menus, no acknowledgment. Eventually a waiter arrived and, very honestly, said he was there to take our order because we'd been "ignored." Accurate assessment. We placed our order, and later a woman who appeared to be a manager brought out our appetizer, apologized for no one taking care of us, and said the appetizer would be comped. A very nice gesture--unfortunately one that didn't make it to the bill, where the appetizer showed up like it never heard that conversation. The food itself? Genuinely good. No complaints there. However, my wife's Caesar salad never arrived. She didn't bring it up because, frankly, after the earlier disappearing-staff act, it felt like tempting fate. We paid the bill (about $100), including a surprise 3% credit card fee we didn't see posted anywhere. We opted to take dessert home, mostly because the night already felt complete... enough. Bottom line: the food has real potential, but the service needs leadership, consistency, and maybe a map. It's hard to justify coming back in the future when you factor in parking fees, credit card fees, and the possibility of being politely ignored on a special occasion. It's a shame--good food deserves better service.
