    Beef and noodle only pho

The interior is very appealing and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely AMAZING. We recently moved to the area from Houston and have now declared this as our go-to Pho spot. Food, portions, and service was a 10/10 for us.

I walked into this establishment on a Sunday afternoon after my local 5K run. I needed carbs and I needed good carbs. I was perusing Yelp when I found this Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered their fine appetizer of fried rolls, which were absolutely amazing especially with that dipping sauce, it was slightly sweet and sour and I rate that five out of five. Their beef noodle soup, a.k.a. beef pho, was so good. They gave a really good portion of thinly sliced beef perfectly cooked in the broth. Broth itself was very rich, tasted as if it was made with years of love and great practice. I added their oyster sauce, and chili sauce, which gave it that extra depth of flavor I was looking for. I was very pleased with this meal. I was very satisfied. It was a very good portion. Service was great. And staff was wonderful. Setting within restaurant has plenty of seating. Conveniently located in downtown Temple. I highly recommend this place and I will be back!

I heart this place to infinity and beyond.... It's been hard finding legitimate pho and spring rolls with peanut sauce. Their shaking beef is also a must try. An import from Cali worth keeping! Great family run business. Support local.

Rhey beat out a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the Greater Austin area! **Cha Gio (Imperial Egg Rolls)** These are the authentic Vietnamese egg rolls, wrapped in extra crispy rice paper and served with lettuce, a bit of vermicelli, pickles, herbs, and nuoc mam (fish sauce). The filling is a delicious mix of pork, woodear mushrooms, and glass noodles. You won't find this in Austin! **Fishcake Noodle Soup - Bún Chả Cá** Another dish you won't find in Austin. If you love fish cake like I do, this underrated Vietnamese noodle soup is a must-try. The chicken broth base, simmered with tomato, creates a bowl full of umami. **Bun Thit Nuong** The marinated, thinly sliced meat was absolutely delicious, and the vermicelli and vegetables were incredibly fresh. We spotted the mother (or grandmother) happily cooking in the background while the daughter managed the front. Just a heads-up: there's a sign at the entrance noting that they're understaffed. This is a very small, family-run operation, so be patient.

I love getting take out here. The food is really good, well priced, and seasoned to perfection. The portion sizes are really good. I usually order online and pickup. The process is really smooth. My order is always on time. The wings in the appetizer section of the menu is really good! If you want Vietnamese that is tasty and for a good value, this is your place!

I've eaten here several times and every time the food was amazing! The service is fast and friendly, and at each encounter the staff really knew a lot about the menu and was able to answer my questions. As far as authentic Vietnamese cuisine goes this is one of the places in Central Texas that I have had the flavor experience that I had while in Vietnam. The imperial rolls are one of my favs for appetizers. And the rice dishes, never disappoint. This restaurant is great for lunch or dinner whether you choose to dine in or do takeout. This is a culinary treat you don't want to miss. Be sure to stop by La Dalat if your looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine and a warm friendly environment.

This is a nice family-run Vietnamese restaurant with kind service. I had the chicken pho with extra noodles for an additional $2.50. It was quite bland, especially the chicken. I also do not really think the extra noodle was that extra because I only had a little left over, and I didn't feel like I had eaten much. My friends weren't big fans of the pho either.

As we entered the restaurant we were immediately warmly greeted by who I think is the owner ( found out she was indeed) !! Grilled Pork Bowl was a generous serving of grilled pork meat, sliced crispy egg roll, fresh veggies served top of vermicelli noodles with a side of their house sauce!!!

Drink: I ordered a large peach and mango fruit tea (no ice,…read more25% sweetness). The flavor itself could've been great, but the sweetness level was shockingly high, more like 100%. If it was made incorrectly, that's fine, but just offer to remake it. It's a $7 drink; the cost to fix it is minimal, and customers remember when you take the time to make something right. Because I requested no ice, the drink also wasn't filled to the top, which felt dismissive considering it was a full-priced order. Unfortunately I cannot drink super cold drinks or food. Seems silly to let a customer walk away with 2 oz shy of a full drink because you usually put ice Service: The staff member was polite when I walked in and even suggested one of their specialty drinks, which I appreciated. However, after I explained that I wanted a simple peach and mango tea and didn't want the specialty item that included strawberry and jellies, she continued to try to steer me toward her suggestion -- saying, "I think you'll like this better." I value recommendations, but once a customer has clearly declined, it's important to respect their preference. After receiving the drink, I realized how overly sweet it was and politely asked if it was truly 25%. I was told it might be because the boba had honey, but having visited hundreds of boba tea places, that alone wouldn't cause such a strong sweetness. I mentioned that I'm pregnant and watching my sugar intake, an opportunity to show care, yet there was no offer to adjust or remake it. When I politely set the drink down and left, there was no follow-up or acknowledgment. I didn't ask for a refund; I simply walked away. If keeping that one cup meant more than keeping a customer, that says something about priorities. Ambiance: Poppa Bear has a cozy café setup with Wi-Fi and a warm, casual vibe. When I visited, a few college students were working quietly on laptops. It's the kind of space that could easily become a community favorite. However, the experience felt like the team was more focused on avoiding loss than creating loyalty. In business, especially hospitality, a small margin for remakes or mistakes is simply part of good operations and it pays back tenfold in customer trust. Overall: Poppa Bear has real potential. The drinks and environment are inviting, but consistent service and responsiveness will determine its long-term success. A little attentiveness and flexibility go a long way in building loyal customers.
