Very precise threading depending on who you get. I don't think threading services get more affordable than this salon. But boy do desi salons make you feel worse when you're finished than when you came in. Take today for example: Lady: Arm wax, honey? (As she strokes my arm). Me: No thanks, just my eyebrows. $8 lip AND eyebrow threading??? Amazing! The threading was near painless...honestly. I was so impressed. The woman also recommended some type of facial for black head removal. It was only $4 so I def want to try that in the future. My only complaint was that my neck started to hurt from having to lay back in the chair and that chair had no neck support. I live one block away and ever since I moved here I been getting my eyebrows done by the same lady and she does an amazing job everytime.

I made an appointment ONE WEEK AGO for an updo and makeup before standing up in a wedding party. Tell me how angry you'd get if you received a text after 2am (so of course didn't get it until the morning) saying your stylist was going to be an hour late. Now, I'm left scrambling to frantically find someone to do my hair and makeup within this half hour! VERYYY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNRELIABLE! Go here only if you have time to walk in. Appointments will not be kept. And beware that the staff will ANNOY you by acting like a bunch of street vendors trying to sell you ANYTHING more. Get very good at firmly saying no. Otherwise, pay 5 extra bucks go someplace that is clean and professional and treats customers well. read more

I was impressed with how the lady made my eyebrows look. However, I showed up at 10:00 a.m. on a Friday, the time posted on the door and the place was still closed. No one arrived until close to 10:30. I wasn't tripping too much but, I had somewhere to be that morning. All the other eyebrow threading establishments hurt me and gave me scars after threading my eyebrows... but, they didn't. The service was fast once they arrived, and they were really nice. I hired Kanza for my wedding makeup along with makeup for my 5 brides maids, we were all so pleased with the service, she was so friendly, the products she used were all branded, she was so sanitary, everything was done on time and we all were ready on time, which relieved so much pressure.! One of my main concerns with makeup artist is the way they don't take care of hygiene, they use the same lipsticks on everyone's mouth but I like that she had scraped it out separately and used a clean brush to apply it to my mouth. I've been going to this salon for a few years now, the staff has always been very friendly and the place is always so clean and taken care of, I've never had anyone do my eyebrows better than them, and they do this sugar wax which cost me only 5$ for my nose it leaves my nose shiny and clean. I love this place. Such great service done by genuine, just plain nice people. Not only are the prices super reasonable, the quality of the threading is excellent. I live 30+ miles away, and yet I come to Kanza's salon time after time, because they do the best job. I have tried a ton of other places closer to where I live, and I leave each time disappointed, having spent over $15 for a simple eyebrow threading. Here's my thoughts on Kanza's and my overall threading/waxing experiences: Starting with me - I've always gotten my eyebrows and chin waxed and love the place I usually go in Andersonville (Nail palette on Clark, ask for Rose). But I wanted to try threading because it's cheaper, faster and less painful. What I have come to discover after my first threading experience, is that I just have darn sensitive facial skin. Not in a break out kind of way, but in an any pressure or pulling turns my skin very red. Waxing has always made my face red and now I know that threading does too. So my specific thoughts about Kanza's...I choose it mainly because it's close by and they opened at 10am. Parking was easy, it's East of the busy part of Devon. The ladies there were very kind and nice. No tv or music playing. There was no wait. The threading was eye watering painful for me. Again, I've never had my eyebrows threaded so I wasn't sure what to expect. The woman was very kind about it got me tissues etc. She mentioned that it may be sensitive skin. I am very pleased with the results. My brows look great. She kept the shape I had and cleaned and trimmed them perfectly. I am very happy about them. She did my lip and chin too. That was waxing with a little threading. Not as through with the waxing as my usual woman, but she went back over everything with the thread. I like that my lip doesn't have the same "rubbery" feel I sometimes get after just waxing. She used a cooling gel on my face, but I'm fairly sure it contained some alcohol so it was a little more aggravating to my skin. I came home, washed my face with some gentle cleanser and put on a peppermint lotion to sooth my skin. If the redness goes down soon, it's still a plus over waxing, which can cause me redness and break outs for a few days. Brows, lip and chin cost $11 total, which is what I would pay for just my lip normally. So that's a plus. I'll probably try a couple other places to see if i have a less painful experience. read more

So my eyebrows had been uneven and destroyed because I plucked them often and the wrong way. I came here three times and the first two visit was okay, better than anyone I've been with though. By the third time I came, I had my eyebrows threaded by Yasmin? I think was her name and I absolutely love it, not only did she give them the shape I wanted but somehow she fixed it and you can hardly see my "bald" spots and made them look so full. The first time I went to Devon street to get henna, I had just wandered in to some random place. It was good, nothing spectacular. And the second time I went back to get some henna on Devon, I purposefully went to Kanza's and this was not only good, it was great and spectacular! Not only was my henna design intricately beautiful and unique, I was able to get my eyebrows threaded on a whim. And Kanza herself, the namesake of the salon, did my brows for me and shaped them beautifully. Everyone was personal, warm and friendly. I would not recommend them for any body waxing services - the woman had poor technique and they will use the same stick over & over (gross). I absolutely love this place! I ended up going to this salon after a lady messed up my eyebrows at another salon, Mrs. Khan fixed them up for me and i was surprised to see that it was painless! They made my eyebrows just the way i wanted them, same as the picture i brought in. Their environment is very friendly, feels like home, and the place smells like lavender. The parking is easy to find and its usually very busy but there service is quick and flawless. i was reading the other views about the waxing being gross, but honestly its not, they have made changes and its very sanitary they change their sticks very often and use new wax, I mean you can always ask them to. After my wax they used a cooling gel although it burned a little the lady informed me that it had a little burning sensation because the product contained antiseptic alcohol so I don't break out, and surprisingly i did not. The facials were relaxing and 50% off it was worth my money and i saw good changes to my face, their facial for acne helped my acne cool down and its starting to go away. they also did my prom makeup and hair to perfection! i couldn't be happier, im getting my wedding and engagement makeup done there as well they foundation made my skin look flawless in the camera. i had one complaint and that was they get too busy on saturdays and it get kind of congested!
