Valentine's Day was truly an enchanting experience at Kapa Bar and Grill! Nestled within the stunning Wailea Beach Resort, this hidden gem offered us breathtaking ocean views that created the perfect romantic setting for our evening together. The atmosphere was electric, and every moment felt like a delightful escape with my love. We treated ourselves to an unforgettable culinary adventure, savoring every delicious bite of: - Miso Cacio e Pepe Lobster & Scallop Pasta - Kona Lobster - Brown Butter Lobster Steamed Buns - Wailea Old Fashioned - Strawberries and Cream Baked Alaska Oh my goodness, the Kona lobster was an absolute showstopper! The rich black bean sauce took its flavors to another level, and we couldn't help but wish we had ordered two! And let's not forget the incredible garlic and lap cheong fried rice--an epic addition to our feast! Each dish was a delightful revelation. The Miso Cacio e Pepe Lobster & Scallop Pasta and the Brown Butter Lobster Steamed Buns beautifully complemented the Kona lobster. Both were bursting with flavor and pure deliciousness! We left wanting more and can't wait to indulge in these dishes again on our next visit! Delicious food and a very romantic dinner.. I'm a fan and plan to dine here soon on my next visit to Maui

Solid lunch spot on the Wailea strip. We always go a few times. The Poke plate is really good as is the Turkey Club. The staff is always nice and attentive. The location is really nice too. It's right behind the pool so people watching is fun. There is usually a DJ at lunch time but it's not too loud or energetic which is cool.

We had the best time having diner and the service was amazing! We had Lane as our service and she was the sweetest. It truly made our Hawaii experience. The food and drink were also amazing! Definitely a must try with beautiful views.

Always a nice treat to eat at KAPA! I love the view sitting right next to the ocean. Great chef. Outstanding wait staff and even live music which always adds so much to the whole experience!

This restaurant is part of the Wailea Beach Resort which is where I stayed. I had several meals at the restaurant during my stay and they were all wonderful. Great staff and yummy food. I had dinner there my first night and had made an Open Table reservation but it was not really needed. The place was never super full. I had the banana and veggie curry. The bananas added an interesting sweet flavor. It was very good. Also got their sorbet for dessert. It was very flavorful. I also had lunch there a couple of times - shrimp tacos and their root salad with shrimp added. Both meals were very tasty. One lunch, the waitress gave me a to-go cup so I could take more soda with me. A nice touch. They also do the food and drinks if you order something at one of the pools. I have avocado spring rolls one day and they were very tasty. Loved the peanut sauce for dipping. They also made good pina coladas and mai tais. Overall a really nice restaurant, especially one within a hotel.

3.5 stars rounded up: You generally can't expect much from any resort restaurant. It's there for convenience (poolside is extra convenient) and the resort coupons for two complimentary drinks will draw you in. The service was very accommodating and open space concept with views towards the pool was great. Resort prices for food are expected. Personally I prefer food off resort as the menu isn't too special with any unique offerings, but I'll say the burger didn't disappoint with the char grilled flavor. Note they close a bit too early IMO at 8:00PM.

This place is so nice! The aesthetics are modern, super nice, but still casual! Easy to make reservations on the website. And the service! Cynthia is so phenomenal! She answered every silly to serious question I had! She made sure the food came out perfect! I requested a dish that was veg friendly but silly me is allergic to peanuts and she made sure they could accommodate me and everything! My uncle had a plain burger with cheese, and he said it was the best burger on the island!!! 10/10 I recommend for a very chill, casual, but still 5 star service and food kind of night! Thank you so much for a great welcome and amazing food!

Such a beautiful view of the ocean from this restaurant! It is amazing that it was as empty as it was. If you come here, they will validate your valet parking... Definitely I think that more people should be here. The food was great, the service was exceptional, Highly recommend!

Great views. Good service. But the food is overly priced and most likely just pre-prepared foods that are heated, fried, or easy to cook. This is the bar closest to one of the pools so you can drink at the bar and watch the sunset. We made reservations for dinner but you really don't need it unless it's super busy tourist season. Otherwise, you can order online and eat at the pool. The menu is the same. We ordered: Poke Bowl - Beautifully plated and that's about it. The poke is subpar. Nothing Hawaiian about it except for the ingredients. Kapa Burger - The burger is probably the best thing you can get for your money. Huge however it had a funky blue cheese taste. Fish of the Day - The fish was Mahi Mahi today. It had a funky taste to it. It was prepared with a sauce that was overly salty and had a packaged taste to it. It didn't come with the veggies listed on the menu and I had to ask about it. (They cooked and brought it out separately. The mushrooms with slimy and tasted sour.) Service: I do like that our server was attentive to my shellfish allergy and asking me about cross contamination.

The location of this restaurant was so close to our room, the pool, and views of the ocean/sunset. Our server, Brenda, was so sweet. Very attentive and personable. Our food was out quickly. Food was great; my chicken was tender and juicy. The vegetables and rice were good too! However, a little overpriced (this is to be expected at any resort restaurant you will be dining at in Maui). All in all, a good experience.

We just had apps but it was FABULOUS. We had the coconut shrimp and it was the best i've ever had. Hand battered and the sauce is to die for. The Hawaiian sweet rolls had this super unique kimchee aioli that we loved. We sat outside and watched the sunset so our atmosphere was PERFECT. Our server was fabulous. No complaints!!

First day on Maui I went to the pool. I ordered the Ahu Poke Bowl and looked like a modern art masterpiece. Fresh fish marinated in shoyu over rice, with pickled vegetables. After taking my first bite I almost jumped out of my chair with my head about to explode from flavor overload, This was very fresh and a perfect size for me. It was a bit pricey but I believe it was worth the price to have at least one time while on vacation.

We were looking for a place to eat with a view, and this did not disappoint. Rene, our server, was very nice, seated us promptly, took our orders, and we had our food on the table within 20 minutes of arriving. I had the root salad because I love beets and I'm always looking for a great one and it was very good. My husband had a burger and really enjoyed it. I loved their signature Mai Tai, which was not too sweet and had a really balanced taste. So darn good. Since we're here celebrating our 5 year anniversary and my birthday, we ended the meal with a nice slice of chocolate cake and ice cream on the house, of course. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You'll be so glad you did.

I ordered the Pandan Killer Milk punch, which is 8yr aged rum, Planteray Cut & dry rum, pandan liquer, clarified coconut, pineapple, vanilla, lime, and nutmeg. I was truly blown away! The Tuna Crunch had garlic chips, chili crunch, and ponzu sauce poured over table side. The Sunomono looked simple with a stack of cucumbers but it also had the most addictive sauce of Garlic Tamari, Chili Crunch and Micro Cilantro. The Kimchi Dip was delicious but I'm not a huge fan of Yorkshire Puddings and would rather had crostini's or bread for dipping. However, the owner took the time to respond and explain that the entire shopping center wing was experiencing cooling issues and that the restaurant was dealing with significant staffing shortages at the time. While that doesn't completely change the experience we had, I appreciate that the owner acknowledged the challenges and responded professionally rather than dismissing the feedback. One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. That being said, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED REVIEW AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: 6.21.26 I appreciate the response. It's telling that you addressed the air conditioning, disputed the gender of an employee, and questioned whether I was even there, yet didn't meaningfully respond to the concerns about service, timing, attentiveness, or food quality. If a customer leaves with a poor experience, the question isn't whether they perfectly recalled every detail. The question is why they left with that impression in the first place. I suspect future readers can draw their own conclusions from both the review and the response. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most disappointing dining experience of our Hawaii trip. We specifically asked to sit indoors because we wanted a break from the Maui heat after spending the day outside. Unfortunately, we quickly realized there was no air conditioning, making the indoor seating barely any cooler than outside. The restaurant also felt severely understaffed. It took around 10 minutes just to get a Diet Coke, and every time I asked for assistance, the woman working at the register seemed to defer the request rather than help or find someone who could. Meanwhile, some employees appeared more interested in chatting than helping customers, while only one or two staff members seemed to be working the floor. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. As for the food, it was nothing special. I ordered a steak that had a nice smoky flavor, but it arrived well done and overcooked. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. There are far too many great dining options in Wailea to come back here.
