Not sure if there is a limit on reviews for the same location but when it's this good and the menu offers superb entrees I think it warrants at least another review. We did make a dinner reservation and so glad we did, quite a few people waiting and walk ins as well when we arrived. We were here last week for lunch and it was "Ono", food was outstanding and wanted to see how their dinners were. Madison was our server and she did an incredible job, she was on it especially covering quite a few tables nothing lacked her attention and charm. I had yet to try a Loco Moco since we arrived in Maui, I have had this dish on the other islands and it's been good. Tonight I tried Aloha Mixed Plate Loco Moco, they offer it with a choice of steamed rice or fried rice so I wanted to try the fried rice. What a difference in flavor combos. The fried rice gave the dish a much richer taste than the steamed rice. The hamburger patty was incredible, I could taste the char noting it was not fried on a flat top. Excellent dish. My wife did the sirloin steak special prepared with mushrooms and onions and cooked to perfection. Juicy and flavorful and plenty of it. Cocktails were outstanding, we tried something different from our first visit. Loved the evening feel of the room, the night vibe with the exterior torches and landscape really brought the tropical feel. Then came an amazing sunset which you could experience from any table in the house. Couldn't leave without trying the Aloha Pie, so decadent and light. Glad we came a 2nd time, have to say we have not experienced the Hawaiian flavors like we have tasted at Aloha. The new spot in Lahaina is back in its former home and better than ever. It does get busy, we showed up on a weekday, right when it opened and were seated at a table closest to the water. The view here is serene. Food was amazing, we had the shoyu chicken plate and coconut shrimp plate, chicken was tender and delicious, shrimp was crispy and came with a sauce that was sweet and not too spicy. Plates come with rice and mac salad which is a must have combo when in Maui! Customer service was good too, the server checked on us regularly and food came out fast. Extra happy to get a table as close to the water as possible. Adding an extra star for the oceanfront views. My Chinese chicken salad was a nice switch after eating heavy for days. Daughter loved her pulled pork with smoky flavor. Husband didn't have to choose; he selected the full mixed plate with chicken, ribs, fish. He substituted macaroni salad for fries. For entrées, we shared a mix of plates: * Kalua pig plate with poi, lomi lomi salmon, rice, and mac salad * Grilled mahi mahi topped with pineapple salsa * A teriyaki-style beef plate, also served with rice and mac salad My plate was the kalua pig, which was tender and flavorful, especially paired with the poi. The grilled fish was cooked well and fresh, though fairly mild on its own. Overall, portions were generous and the plates were filling. The food was good. My friend added how their barbecue sauce was the best she's ever had but I can't say it was my favorite. My husband got a bit of a sampler plate and that was pretty good. The fish was flaky, with no fishy taste. The chicken--flavorful and sweet. And the kalua pig was great, with a subtle smokiness. I'm not a poi fan whatsoever but it did come as a side, it's just not something I enjoy eating. I recommend not leaving without having some Mac salad as it was quite creamy and balanced. What I was most impressed by was the care in service. Firstly, we were well greeted coming in. Our server took it from there and checked on us frequently. I admired how when I asked about ingredients, he inquired if it was for allergies and he was the best at informing us about allergens present in the menu so we could ensure our allergy toddler could eat safely. In Maui for my honeymoon and decided to come here for a late lunch around 3 o'clock. Service was really nice and quite fast. We were seated pretty quickly, ordered, and got the Aliʻi Plate, the Mochiko Chicken, and the fish tacos (the meat changes daily, that day it was swordfish). I would personally describe this restaurant as a fast-casual restaurant with good ocean views. The Aliʻi Plate is a good introduction to Hawaiian food. The kalua pork was very tender and very juicy. The pork lau lau tasted like a Chinese dish that is wrapped in a banana leaf (jung). The lomi lomi salmon was quite fresh and tasted quite fishy--it just wasn't what we expected when we ordered it (it's the thing that looks like diced tomatoes). I think it's a mixture of diced tomatoes, onions, and tiny bits of salmon, but when we ordered it, we thought it was going to be an actual piece of salmon. The poi is the purple paste, and I personally didn't like it, but that's because I didn't really like the flavor profile. It's like a starchy paste that kind of tastes like unsweetened Greek yogurt. The fish tacos for the day were swordfish. I've never had a swordfish taco before. I think the swordfish could've used a little more salt and maybe been deep-fried, but again, that's personal preference. The fish did taste very fresh, and combined with the pineapple salsa, it was very refreshing. My favorite dish at the restaurant was the Mochiko Chicken. It was very crispy and very flavorful. Overall, I really liked this restaurant, but a couple of things brought the review down. Our biggest complaint was that there were a lot of flies in the restaurant, and they kept trying to land on our food. The other thing that brings it down is that Maui in general has really good food everywhere, so I'm comparing it to other food I've had on the island. If I were to grade it not relative to other restaurants on the island, I'd probably give it a four, but because of all the other amazing food I've had and the price, it bumps it down to a three. That said, if you're looking for a nice restaurant with a great view of the ocean, I would definitely come here. read more

It's located right on the water and there's a convenient parking lot in front (although he can get super packed during dinner time). We got take out and it was just as good as having it at the restaurant. We got the Aloha Mixed Plate and and an order of the Kalbi. Of the two, my favorite was the Kalbi which was marinated well and super tender. The mixed plate was decent. It came with shoyu chicken, beef teriyaki and grilled fish. I though the chicken could've been better but the beef teriyaki was good. I didn't care for the mac salad here - wasn't something to write home about. Went here for our first night on Maui and it was the perfect way to start our trip! It's an open air restaurant so a view of sunset is attainable from many spots in the seating area. We got the margaritas with hibiscus and the mango/pog coconut rum drinks. The margarita was flavorful and the coconut rum drink was blended so it was a little watery. The plates we got were fantastic, the pork plate especially was super flavorful and juicy with a great mac salad. Definitely a new spot for great Hawaiian food added to my list. read more

We went here the other night for our last dinner in Hawaii. Too bad the food wasn't good. We made a reservation and were seated promptly which was good. Our waitress was great. I got a lava flow which was tasty and my husband got a mai tai which he enjoyed. We got the wings to split. It came with 5, although only 1 of them was a drum. They were tasty but nothing spectacular. I got the pulled pork sandwich and my husband got the mixed plate. The sandwich had a slaw on it that was drowning in mayo which I didn't like so I scraped as much of it off as I could. The sandwich was greasy and really heavy and I didn't enjoy it very much. The garlic furikake fries were pretty good so I mainly just ate those. My husband didn't enjoy his dinner either. He said the food was bland and overly greasy. We both agreed that this was the worst meal of the trip. The location was gorgeous so I gave a second star. Too bad the food didn't match up to the view. read more
