For our Spring Break trip, our family made our reservation in January with Kappy's. (We chose Kappy's, as local a FB group suggested them and we wanted to support those affected by the hurricanes.) For our 3 day rental, we paid $575. The initial golf cart that was delivered did not have seatbelts. We asked for a golf cart with seatbelts (we have small children) and were told by Brandy (the manager) that FL law for Boca Grande does not require seatbelts. They agreed to an exchange, and delivered a golf cart that was at least 25+ years old. PLEASE see attached picture. We frequently vacation and rent golf carts all over Florida and have NEVER had this type of experience. We have golf club memberships and have never seen golf carts this "vintage" in circulation. They are NOT pictured on their website. We strongly suggest other companies, as we paid MORE than other local vendors and received product that is EMBARRASSING to drive. read more

I bought their sunscreen March 2022. Used it on my son, who got VERY SICK with Sun poisoning. I looked at the sunscreen and it was a year expired! Don't buy sunscreen and look at the dates on everything there. If I still had my receipt I'd be taking further action with them! read more

Always great for picking up essentials while on the island! They have a nice selection of basic groceries and everyday needs, along with some tourist-y souvenirs that are much cheaper than the ones you will find downtown. They have beer and wine in coolers, which was great for throwing right in the cooler and bringing down to the beach. It also seemed like they had a small ice cream counter with a dozen flavors or so, but we did not get any when we visited. The aisles are a bit tight together in the store and it is crowded which makes it hard to navigate. Definitely not a place where you would want to by a large amount of groceries. For something like that, either Hudson's (fancy grocery store in town) or Publix (off island) are your best bets. read more

Riding a golf cart from Kappy's in Boca Grande made our day! Kappy's Market is a convenience store that sells groceries, deli food, beer and wine, ice cream, souvenirs and rents golf carts. We rented a 4 passenger for four hours for $50. We were charged $5 extra because the cart had bigger wheels. I would call ahead to reserve because we waited until the last minute and were lucky to get one. It is very easy to drive, as we had no experience and picked it up immediately. There is a golf cart path that runs from the back of Kappy's down the length of the island. Golf carts are also allowed on the downtown streets. The locals were very friendly. After the ride we shopped the souvenirs and I bought a great mermaid mug!:) A fun and unique experience! read more

Staff wore masks but allowed two customers in with out because only going to be a minute! Seriously that's all it takes!! Big confrontation and customer coughed in my face ! Walked out not spending a dime and never will! No wonder Florida is still on rise! I'll spend the 6 dollars to get off island for what I need! Such a shame for a cute local store! The best and only place on the island for quick, convenient and simple shopping. Don't skip the deli counter!

One of very few market places on the island but they do have an onsite deli that make sandwiches to order. You can also stock up on some beach supplies, souvenirs and rent a golf cart for the day all in one location. The ladies at the counter were every helpful with giving us recommendation on what to do and where to go. If you go to island the best way to travel around is by golf cart. read more

Head to Kappys for all your Gasparilla Island needs!! Grocery, boar heads deli for some lunch subs, some beer and wine, and even rent yourself a golf cart for 4 or 8 hours or all day. They got options from 4 seaters to 8 seaters to help you and your group ride around town the way it is intended here, by golf cart or bike. Prices range from 45$ for 4 hour/ 4 setter and goes up from there based on time and seats needed. But well worth the price to make your stay more enjoyable on the island. I was in Boca Grande for spring break last year. While I was there I went to Kappy's Market for lunch a few times. They have a great sub sandwich selection. I highly recommend the homemade chicken salad! I wish I would have taken some home to MN with me!! read more
