When I asked a coworker for a recommendation on a healthy lunch that was open he immediately said Veggie World Fruit & Vegetable. Man, sad he right!!! It's a very clean, small market with what appears to have amazing produce- I will be coming back for that, friendly staff and premade salads and sides. I was going to get a salad but the sandwiches and wraps looked so good I couldn't pass up a turkey wrap. It was filled with meat and heated to perfections! I order grinders there often for myself, friends and coworkers. They are $10 give or take a dollar and packed with meat and veggies. Veggie World is way better than going to Subways. If you are looking for a great Italian grinder/sub, try Veggie World. It only comes in a full size, but that is a great deal for $8. You can choose your add one but suggest provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, banana peppers, oil vinegar sand salt and pepper. They'll toast it for you, but not required. I always chuckle when I leave because Subway is right across the street and there's no reason for anyone to go there when Veggie World makes a far superior product. Grinders are huge and made to order (I believe they're even slicing the meat back there). Produce is hit or miss. Veggie world has the best foot longs around, most of them being $5 and you get a free can of soda. Freshly sliced deli meats are used and there is no extra cost for getting the works on your sandwich. I often get the roast beef or turkey subs and they blow me away every time. The bread is soft and fresh and is actually one of my favorite parts of the sandwich it's so good. The workers are very friendly and there is a good choice of options in the grocery section. You can some times strike an amazing deal when the fruit is on sale. The canned/boxed goods are diverse and you can find things from all over the world. Honestly veggie world is one of my favorite sandwich places I've been to, I used to attend CCSU in New Britain and had a ton of subway and a co-worked brought me here and I never looked back. The sandwiches are made to order the deli meat is cut in front of you the ladies are kind and fast and service has always been great. The prices are great for the size of a sandwich you get I used to eat half and save half for later they are extremely generous with portion and I have never had a bad sandwich. I was surprised. I stopped in for lunch the other day as they advertise a $5 grinder and they have good reviews. Well, I had the foot long Mortadella grinder. $5.50. The sandwich was good but for what they gave me, it would have been at least $8 any where else. Deff a value here and they don't skimp on the quality. Great stuff. The international selection of products is great. However, even when I hand the ladies working there a slip of paper with exactly what I want on my grinder, they still manage to screw it up. First time eating here, ordered a sausage and peppers sandwich. Couple things wrong here, I'll start with the worst part: the sausage. I'm not quite sure what it was that made this sausage the first I ever had that was totally dry - no natural grease or oil which I think is strange. It's SAUSAGE how could it not have at least a little?? Probably microwaved, a bit rubbery; it DEFINITELY was not grilled. Onions go great with sausage and peppers. Problem: They used red, raw onion. Am I at subway? A little cheap on the peppers too. Upon ordering I asked what else they put on the sandwich. I had to tell them no cheese. Who eats cheese on a sausage and peppers sandwich? If I hadn't asked I would have been very upset. Cheese is totally out of place here. Just strange. Overall I just don't understand what they did.
