Everything was tasty and delicious. The staff were all helpful and answered questions or grab to go boxes that we needed. Really enjoyed the pot of Karak tea. I love adeni tea and went to try this place. We ended up ordering something different and may now have a new favorite. The tea was hot, sweet , and flavorful. We split a sandwich, each got a dessert, and split a medium pot of tea. The chicken salad was tasty. It was mostly mayo and chicken and we didn't notice anything else to it, but I enjoyed it. It was on the thin side. Again, the tea was delicious and we drank the whole pot. The desserts , mine a strawberry tree Leche, and my mom and cookie cheesecake. Cute new cafe in the Southland shopping area. Located in a strip center (next to Gabe's), there is free parking. Stopped by on a weekday afternoon when it was farily quiet. The cafe is larger than expected. Spans far back where they have a tv set up, carom board game, and an area with a number of board games you can play while you dine. They have a large variety of drinks ranging from chai, lattes, boba, spritzers, mocktails, and plenty of desserts. The staff didn't seem too informed about the menu items or drinks, which was a bit disappointing. I relied on some online reviews to decide on my order. The saffron karak chai was very good and comes out piping hot. I would prefer if they served this in an actual mug (rather than paper cup) especially if dining in. It was filled to the brim and spilled, not to mention putting a steaming hot drink in a paper cup. Nonetheless, the chair was good. More folks eventually started to come in so I can imagine this place gets noisy as it fills up. There was a women's group meeting all sitting in a circle on the floor in the front of the cafe. A great cafe in Middleburg Heights! My friend and I got mojitos ($7 each), a green apple fruit pastry ($15), and a slice of caramel tres leches cake ($7). I ordered the blue raspberry mojito, and it was refreshing and the right amount of sweet. My friend said it tasted like a blue Jolly Rancher, and she was absolutely right. I liked the design of the green apple fruit pastry, and it caught my eye when I saw it in the case. Luckily, I also liked the taste. The green part is a hard white chocolate shell, and inside were mousse, cake, and an apple puree with apple chunks. The inside was especially delightful, and both the mousse and cake were light and airy. I just wish the pastry was bigger - especially for the price, but I get that you're also paying for the aesthetic, and I was a fan of the aesthetic! The tres leches cake was rich and scrumptious. The cake was so moist and sweet. If you don't like your cakes REALLY sweet, you might not like the tres leches cake, but as I have a sweet tooth, I adored the cake. Drove over an hour to check this place out. And it did not disappoint. Friendly staff. Food was great, came out fast and hot. And made sure I got a couple of the desserts frozen to make the drive home when they heard it was an hour plus drive. Lots of flavor in the chipotle sub and chaat! Met a friend here for brunch on Saturday and they weren't busy so we ordered and got a seat right away. You place your order and pay at the counter and then they call your name and you go and grab it. Their savory menu is pretty limited, especially for vegetarians, so I got the egg and cheese sandwich since that was pretty much my only option. It comes with cream cheese and shredded cheese though which did not appeal to me so I asked for it without. They have a good variety of tea though and they also have boba. They had a boba spritzer (sparkling water instead of milk) which I had never seen before so of course I had to try that! There were multiple flavors to choose from - I went with blue raspberry and kiwi popping bubbles. The sandwich was good and I felt the price was reasonable. The boba spritzer was really good! I wanted to try one of the viral fruit pastries but couldn't bring myself to pay $15 for one. They aren't even that big and it just seemed a bit outrageous. All in all a decent spot and I enjoyed what I ordered, I just wish they had more non-dessert vegetarian options. read more

Been waiting to try these viral fruit pastries and so happy to try them!!! Each pastry is around $15 and I got the pistachio, strawberry, blackberry, and blueberry. They give your frozen options if you aren't going to eat them right away or fresh ones ready to eat. They really are quite flavorful, delicious, and filling. I walked in to complete chaos.. they had a private party going on, not enough staff I waited over 35 minutes for a cup of tea that was unfortunately not very good. I ordered classic karak tea. It was not as good as I was hoping for. This is under new ownership and people are eager to try it out, so the place was packed. I wanted to love this place, and see a small business thrive, but every aspect of my experience here made me incredibly disappointed that I wasted my time and money here. To start, from the time we placed our order to the time we received it was 30 minutes. My order included a pastry, coffee, and sandwich, which could almost be forgivable; however, my sister placed a separate order for 2 pastries and a coffee. That should not take 30 minutes. It was a Tuesday afternoon, not terribly busy. After 30 minutes, we had 4 hangry kids who had been asking about their chocolate cake for... well 30 minutes. Next, onto the pastries. $15 a piece is absurd, but my fault not doing the research into price, so I will not fault them for that, only myself. I will fault them for the pastries being rock solid. We got an edible cup and a strawberry. Both were rock hard, and the experience eating them was not enjoyable at all. We were using our plastic spoons as a pick-axe, just trying to get a bite. It is impossible to get a bite of all the layers this way, which defeats the purpose. The kids shared the chocolate cake, thank god that was not frozen solid. Finally, to my butter chicken croissant. The butter chicken part was shredded chicken in the sauce, spread thinner than Dunkin' Donuts spreads their cream cheese. If I had scraped it all off into a pile, it would be about 2 tablespoons of chicken, and that is not an exaggeration. Kids were starving by this point- they were out of the hot dog on the menu, which is what we expected to feed them. I resigned and figured they could try the butter chicken, but for $11 it was not enough to even feed one kid. Thank goodness it included about 10 potato chips on the side, which held them over as we promised to stop for food for them on the way home. All in all- if our food had come out in 10-15 minutes (generous amount of time for coffee and pastry), had it not been frozen, and had I had at least a quarter cup of butter chicken, I could maybe give this place 3-4 stars, and just warn others on the price. However, neither the service nor food nor price was acceptable given the quality, and I am disappointed we wasted an hour of our day and $60 of our hard earned money here. read more

OH MY FREAKING JESUS LORD AND SAVIOR. I got a raspberry and banana fruit pastry. Best thing I have eaten in my life. Have you ever smelled a candle and said "mmm i wish i could eat this" well that's how the raspberry was. So delicious and loved the texture. It tingled my tongue in the best way. The crack from the chocolate was so satisfying and the jam and mousse were delightful. And oh my goodness the banana was beautiful. Tastes like a fresh banana and then the custard on the inside was a nice surprise. Worked so well together and blended very well. I will be going to church to be thanking God for these later (and praying for more money to go get some #i'm broke). BEST MONEY I HAVE EVER SPENT ON FOOD.
