We had checked out a couple other martial arts studios in the area prior to PMA but as soon as we walked in we knew PMA was different. Our girls were nervous and intimidated their first intro class but the instructors were so awesome about going at our girls pace and making them feel comfortable and welcome. Our girl's have flourished in so many ways, even outside of martial arts. Particularly for them, their confidence & empathy. The girls have had the privilege of being instructed by Mr. Neves, Mr. Garcia and Mr. Guerrero. They are awesome instructors and people. They truly care about the students and their progress. And they're great about giving corrections and critiques in a constructive, positive way. The training is not only instructional but also fun. The training they receive is not just self defense and technique but also life lessons. They're tasked with "homework" related to self discipline, team work, etc. Belt testing is signed off by parents and their teacher. That way the students are held accountable for their eligibility to test for their next belt. I can't say enough about how happy we are to have found PMA but here are a few more: -class times and days work for many different schedules -very much a community feeling. lots of events/ activities to attend/participate in -Parents Night Out (it's a Friday night, there's a theme, parents drop off the kiddos for a few hours of play & fun) -adult classes available for parents and older siblings -studio is always clean

My granddaughter Victoria loves coming to this karate school! And why shouldn't she? The…read moreinstructors Josh and Nieves (hopefully I spelled correctly) are excellent. They are both very patient and make this an enjoyable self-defense school. Although the lessons are a lot of fun, especially for the youngsters, very important principles are reinforced in order to move up in rank from belt to belt. More than that, unheard of during my time studying martial arts, Premier Martial Arts-Plantation even asks for background reviews from the child's teachers in order to ensure principles of focus and respect are being followed. This makes Premier Martial Arts-Plantation a phenomenal black belt school.

Extra curricular activities should be a safe place for your children to be themselves, make new…read morefriends and learn new skills. This program came recommended by a family friend, when we first joined things seem to be going OK but overtime that changed. Master Creed is an extremely kind and caring instructor, his staff might not all be as well versed in the care of children and how to speak to them which is why we recommend looking at other programs in the area. Our daughter's participate in gymnastics, golf, soccer and karate. My oldest being so excited to join the karate program was sharing with Mr. Maurer about her recent performance in her golf program and that she was thinking of taking a break from gymnastics. Mr. Maurer is usually the finance guy who will upsell each family on their programs, which is understandable we all have a job to do and need to earn money. In this same breath of her being so beyond excited to be trying something new (which was golf) Mr. Maurer had the audacity to tell her to quit golf, as it is not as fun or cool as karate and ask mommy and daddy to pay for the black belt program. Which we are well aware exists but have no interest considering they force you into prepayment for months long commitments, you also are forced to purchase gear and equipment your child may not need or utilize unless they join that more expensive program (it will be sitting collecting dust). She came home from that interaction so speechless and confused, an adult she looked up to telling her that her new interests are silly and unimportant, pushing something on her she has no interest in and that had been communicated to him by both myself and husband, showed this was not the place for us. My mother in law came home also upset after hearing him address an 8 year old this way. I decided to bring it to master Creeds attention and his sympathy was with us but the corrective action did nothing for my child, nor do I think enough was done at the time in regards to holding Mr Maurer accountable. The class she attended after this conversation Master Creeds decided to make directly towards cheering her on in regards to trying something new (golf), which was appreciated but unnecessary considering she should've never been made to feel that way in the first place. When he did mention the golf it brought herto tears because she had what Mr Maurer said to her in the back of her mind. We never returned after that day, we paid for a program we could not complete. It was worth noting, there's a specific way to address kids and adults. Food for thought when shopping around for a program your entire family should feel comfortable with I don't think this is an honest place to bring your kids.
