    Boot I really liked.
    Donna L.

It's been several years since I stepped into a Karavel shoe store, so my eyes got big when I walked into their new location. It's bright, open and airy and basically the total opposite of the store they had on Burnet. Lots of people buying shoes and lots of people selling shoes so that remained the same. The wait was long because they were having a special event. But also because their digital check in system was not working properly. Once I notified them someone actually wound up being free to help me immediately. Angela was great at trying to help me find what I wanted, fall shoes/boots with a wide toe box, flexible and close to zero drop. Not a lot to choose from with those parameters but there was enough. Unfortunately at midday during a popular shoe brand event, most of my choices didn't prove fruitful because they were out of my size. She found one boot that I really liked and I did leave with a great purse too. I'm so happy I stopped by because this is definitely not the Karavel I remember. It now caters to younger, older and everyone in between. Great job rebranding Karavel! I'll be back sooner than later.

This is the new location of Karavel shoes which was formally located on Burnet Road. One thing you will receive is personalized service, but first you have to check in. The footwear is not inexpensive here, but they do have a room off to the side dedicated just to sale shoes. Unless you're buying some flip-flops here, it's very likely your shoe purchase will definitely exceed $100. As a matter of fact, many of the running shoes seem to start at around $140 on up. One thing I did notice was the fact that almost all the shoes here are made either in China, Vietnam or Indonesia. Perhaps that's the norm these days, but I did find some New Balance shoes that were made in the USA. They also offer socks, shoe care products, baggallinis and insoles. If you're looking for expert shoe service along with care and comfort for your feet then this is a good place to come for that service. Informative video and photos included.

I bought my shoes here years ago I wear two different sizes and they helped me very much I bought like three pairs and they will work well worth it so I'm going to look for ecco and gym shoes ... they gave me a good deal since I have to wear two different sizes and I was pleased with their services...

I came here desperately seeking new athletic shoes. I was greeted by Johnathan, and explained the issues I have with my high arches. He introduced me to Brooks shoes, a good option for my feet. He inquired as to color preferences and brought me out two styles. We had a great conversation about the advantages of each and I made a decision. I was in and out in 20 minutes with a perfectly fitting, arch supporting, pair of shoes. (Plus, they were on sale!) It was a great experience!

Drove up, went in and looked around. Already had in mind what I wanted. Took a number (you scan a bar code to get in line) was waited on within 5 minutes. After the knowledgeable staff took my measurements and advised on stock. Got the pair I wanted, grabbed a few socks and checked out. Was a bit higher than I had expected The pair I chose was $160, got two pair socks and was unaware they were $20 each. Had no idea there are socks that are warrantied for life. Wish I knew about that years ago. I like that aspect of it and will be looking for the brand if they work out.

The last three times I told someone their shoes were cute, they responded with "and they're comfortable, too!" Guess where each of them said they got them...yep, Karavel. Soooo, I decided to check it out. Jason was so wonderful! I told him exactly the type of shoe I had in mind, and he led me to several to try. I ended up picking my favorite and love them so much!! These are sturdy shoes that I know will last me quite a while. I'm very pleased!

I am good customer of them - I buy all my shoes from them - this last time Jonathan was careless in a " hurry " sales man - He sold me 2 shoes but it was wrong size - not recommended

They have an awesome machine that diagnoses your feet and their troubled areas.

I cannot say enough good things about Karavel, but I'll try :-) Karavel is locally owned with fantastic customer service and staff members who are highly knowledgeable about their products and about issues affecting the feet, legs, and knees. Sure the parking lot is often full and you may have to wait a bit to be helped, but this is because Austinites like me and my family have been returning here for years and years. I've also seen a few other reviewers call out that they're overpriced. This is false. They sell premium brands from around the world for people who are looking for high quality and comfort. Their prices are the same as if you purchased from Macy's or Zappos. But unlike those places, Karavel has a rewards program AND the best return/quality guarantee of any store around. Do yourself a favor and head down to Karavel next time you're looking for running shoes or something orthopedic. And ask for Scott. He's the best. Also, get a scan of your feet (pictured).

Good day, Wanted to…read morereach out and share my experience on a release by Sneaker Politics. There was an Air Max 95 Bandana Release on Saturday, during SXSW on 3/14. I got to the store at 9:30am and was greeted by a gentleman (smaller black guy with shades), who gave me the details of how the release was going to work. He granted me a wristband that had #3 on it. Door opened at 11 and majority of people got wristbands and lined up. Everyone lined up according to their numbers on their wristbands. With me being #3, I entered the store and bought the releases. I understand that it's a release, so I do understand one per person. When I walked out there was a Hispanic male outside who worked with the store giving out wristbands. I wanted to get my daughter a pair, so I asked could I get back in line grab another. The line was really long. I grabbed another wristband and was #76. I was told from that Hispanic male that o could get another but I had to go to the back of the line, which is what I did. I waited and waited until my turn. The line grew longer behind me. When I reached the registered, the same gentleman (black guy with braids) who checked me out the first time said I couldn't get about pair until everyone got a pair. He said if I wanted another pair then I needed to get out the store and wait back in line (which is what I did the second time and was #76). I showed him my green #76 wristband and he rudely said i needed to get back in line again to get another pair. I was not trying to argue, so I told him I'd do that but this was wrong. I was disappointed. The black guy in braids stated that he was the manager and there was nothing I could do to get another pair right then and there. I told him the guy with the wristbands said I couldn't get back in line. He said "the guy outside with the wristbands is a part time guy who doesn't matter to the store." He's not the manager, I am the guy to make the decisions." He was very rude! I walked out and got back in line AGAIN! When I got back in line, there were others who had got back in line who were in front of me and waited twice while it was my third time to wait in line for a 2nd pair. The line was long. A few guys had bags in front of me. Just made me feel upset and targeted. The line moved and I was now one guy away from the register. The guy in front of me also had a bag and pair in his hand that he bought earlier. But he didn't wait 3 times like me. When it was my turn, I told the managers in braids, "am I good now because I waited." He laughed and said he was the manager again. He gave me a speech about how he makes the calls and that I got the pair I needed. He said, "you got the pair you needed, right?" Very rude, while laughing, and it felt like he was really making fun of me. He then used profanity and mentioned that he needed to make his living. "You're not going to fucking stop me from making my money, you got your pair didn't you?" I didn't say anything, then I kindly mentioned I'm not going to argue, I just want to make a purchase and leave. He gave me my pair and checked me out. I kindly reached over to shake his hand or give him a dap. He laughed at me and didn't bother shaking my hand, so that's when I left. My experience with Sneaker Politics was very disappointing. All the other employees were great until I reached that gentleman. Very unprofessional, laughed at me, used profanity, and I'm sure he didn't have that conversation like that with other customers. I felt dumb and targeted but thankful I got me and my daughter a pair!

Staff were friendly and the overall ambiance was chill without being dull or overwhelming. Typical retail prices are to be expected, nothing too crazy. That said, I wish they would carry more unisex footwear in smaller sizes. I typically wear 6 women's and 4/4.5 in big kids. I prefer the latter due to better color-way variations. Solid spot to check out and try on the latest footwear.

After coming in the first time, getting a futuristic testing done on my feet for size (a complete BS facade to take your money easier), they said I need an 8.5 men's. I wear an 11 usually. I haven't been an 8.5 since junior high 6 years ago. Yet I was made to look like a fool when I questioned the 8.5. Instead, I took the pair home and destroyed my feet running in them. Then returned them and got a new pair that was bigger. And destroyed my feet. Then returned again and returned them to get a new pair a little bigger. And destroyed my feet (albeit not as bad). In case you were wondering, I run 4-10 miles most runs. No I am not new to this. Also, got sold these shoe inserts here. Complete shite. $50 and the worst thing I've ever put in my shoe. My first attempt was a failure because I had to go to the bathroom urgently and they don't have one. I rushed to the La Condesa restaurant across the street who were kind enough to let me use theirs. Since I was there solo, and carrying a lot of my own stuff, I asked the fitting room attendant if he could help me if sizes weren't wrong. He did this two separate times and was lovely throughout the whole experience! I decided to go with a different top as the one pictured, and in the wrong size, but I needed that denim crop. I'l probably eventually sell it but the green skirt is going to be one of my new staples for sure The other store attendant who helped me with the shirt/not a skirt debacle ended up being the one at the cash register and gave me a big shopping tote to fit my new clothes, and the personal belongings I couldn't fit inside my North Face backpack.
