Good day, Wanted to reach out and share my experience on a release by Sneaker Politics. There was an Air Max 95 Bandana Release on Saturday, during SXSW on 3/14. I got to the store at 9:30am and was greeted by a gentleman (smaller black guy with shades), who gave me the details of how the release was going to work. He granted me a wristband that had #3 on it. Door opened at 11 and majority of people got wristbands and lined up. Everyone lined up according to their numbers on their wristbands. With me being #3, I entered the store and bought the releases. I understand that it's a release, so I do understand one per person. When I walked out there was a Hispanic male outside who worked with the store giving out wristbands. I wanted to get my daughter a pair, so I asked could I get back in line grab another. The line was really long. I grabbed another wristband and was #76. I was told from that Hispanic male that o could get another but I had to go to the back of the line, which is what I did. I waited and waited until my turn. The line grew longer behind me. When I reached the registered, the same gentleman (black guy with braids) who checked me out the first time said I couldn't get about pair until everyone got a pair. He said if I wanted another pair then I needed to get out the store and wait back in line (which is what I did the second time and was #76). I showed him my green #76 wristband and he rudely said i needed to get back in line again to get another pair. I was not trying to argue, so I told him I'd do that but this was wrong. I was disappointed. The black guy in braids stated that he was the manager and there was nothing I could do to get another pair right then and there. I told him the guy with the wristbands said I couldn't get back in line. He said "the guy outside with the wristbands is a part time guy who doesn't matter to the store." He's not the manager, I am the guy to make the decisions." He was very rude! I walked out and got back in line AGAIN! When I got back in line, there were others who had got back in line who were in front of me and waited twice while it was my third time to wait in line for a 2nd pair. The line was long. A few guys had bags in front of me. Just made me feel upset and targeted. The line moved and I was now one guy away from the register. The guy in front of me also had a bag and pair in his hand that he bought earlier. But he didn't wait 3 times like me. When it was my turn, I told the managers in braids, "am I good now because I waited." He laughed and said he was the manager again. He gave me a speech about how he makes the calls and that I got the pair I needed. He said, "you got the pair you needed, right?" Very rude, while laughing, and it felt like he was really making fun of me. He then used profanity and mentioned that he needed to make his living. "You're not going to fucking stop me from making my money, you got your pair didn't you?" I didn't say anything, then I kindly mentioned I'm not going to argue, I just want to make a purchase and leave. He gave me my pair and checked me out. I kindly reached over to shake his hand or give him a dap. He laughed at me and didn't bother shaking my hand, so that's when I left. My experience with Sneaker Politics was very disappointing. All the other employees were great until I reached that gentleman. Very unprofessional, laughed at me, used profanity, and I'm sure he didn't have that conversation like that with other customers. I felt dumb and targeted but thankful I got me and my daughter a pair! read more

I stopped by on a whim and found the sneakers I was looking for, and snagged the last pair in my size. Staff were friendly and the overall ambiance was chill without being dull or overwhelming. Typical retail prices are to be expected, nothing too crazy. That said, I wish they would carry more unisex footwear in smaller sizes. I typically wear 6 women's and 4/4.5 in big kids. I prefer the latter due to better color-way variations. Solid spot to check out and try on the latest footwear. read more

I made a sizing mistake when ordering, I didn't want my money back. I wanted the shoe, in my size. I was willing to pay for the shipping both ways. The no exchange policy is trash. I thought I found a cool new shop to get my shoes, but I'll take the $160 loss, and they'll never get money for me again. I'll also recommend against them. read more

Had some friends visiting from out-of-town that needed some shoes so we stopped into Sneaker Politics and left with shoes and hoodies. They had a great selection for the price and the staff were very hospitable. read more

Great service and a good spread of selection. Was able to find some shoes today that won't be released online for a few more days. Very happy, will come back! read more

Amazing experience! Copped the latest Travis Scott pair the staff were so attentive and made sure I was comfortable.

Cute shoes, terrible service. Bought some Nikes, came with a cute holographic sticker. The staff was literally talking in a big circle, ignoring all of the customers. My father had to yell at them to please help us, because we asked 2x and they were too into their conversation to notice. read more

Any city that we visit my husband tracks down a Politics store. The music and vibe were funky ( as per usual). Continued great service. Size selections was limited, but that's the cost of great product buying! read more

Sneaker Politics - Shoe Stores Near Me - Austin, Texas

I was in town for my daughters tournament and decided to shop a little. I walked by this cute shop and turned immediately because the merchandise aught my eye. Walked in and there were 3 employees hanging out. Walked over to the shoe rack and I guess before I came in they all unanimously agreed to ignore me. Asked loudly about the size of shoes all 3 just put their heads down. So I assumed maybe the 2 were friends and directed my question to the employees sitting behind the counter. He also held his head down laughing. I said wow WTF am I not supposed shop here and left. Looked back and they waved and laughed! Took my dog downtown for a walk and saw this store open on Sunday. Seemed like a pretty nice spot with rare pieces throughout. Workers seemed pretty complimentary about my dog but that's about where the positives ended and the annoyances started... 1. There were about a dozen people huddled outside the door. I had to literally ask "is the store open or is it just for employees?" before someone told everyone to back away and let me in. 2. I felt instantly judged by the way I was dressed that I wasn't serious about sneakers. (I used to work for nicekicks blog so I have knowledge and a considerable collection). I had no idea who worked there and who came just for the free snacks and drinks. I was never greeted, told how the store worked, and offered service. 3. After picking up a shoe off the stand, and standing there what seemed to be an eternity, I had to literally interrupt a conversation between the cashier and his friend to get any service. Upon asking if they had any sizes, I was smirked at. I was not given any attention to what I wanted or how the store worked. To this day, I still don't understand how this store works...is it consignment? is it full size runs? is it a friends and fam type of store? (Which I have no problem with...just give me a heads up so I don't have to guess and waste my time). Overall, it seemed like the type of store where you had to be buddies with the manager or cashier or workers before getting any help or service. I was more than willing to buy a pair or two but no one offered their services. Honestly, a vending machine would have done the job of the "sales persons" .... at least I would have known what is in stock and had the ability to buy what I wanted. In the end, I guess "Politics" is a fitting name for the store ... It's about who you know and how you sell yourself. read more

Literally the most kind and helpful people I have ever encountered at a sneaker store. Some friends and I needed interviews for a school project, and they were more than happy to answer some questions.
