I live in California and my 95 year old mom lives close to Karen's Floral so I called them and ordered an arrangement to be delivered today on Saturday and was told I would get an email confirmation. About 15 minutes before their closing I still hadn't got an email so I called and was told they attempted delivery at 11:45 and nobody was home. Turns out she was home, but her hearing is not so good. Their employee Julie, was professional, helpful, and had the driver even after their closing time re-deliver them today. My mom loved them, and I am impressed with the great service and caring difference this business made. My mom's caretakers were in Indiana, because his father has just died. My brother who was supposed to be there was delayed and not there when the first delivery attempt was made. Bottom line, is a business that cares like this one will continue to get my business and I hope your business continues to thrive and continues offering this great customer service. read more

I ordered a bouquet of flowers as a 'get well' gift for a loved one. I used their web site (https://www.karensfloral.com/) in lieu of using FTD.com or 1-800-flowers. Their website had a timer for same-day delivery ... I placed an order for a 'Deluxe' arrangement at around 11:15 am, which was shortly before the timer ran out. About an hour later, I was surprised by a text from the recipient that they already received their flowers!! Talk about same-day delivery - my order was delivered by 12:30pm!!! Extremely friendly staff. Everything was delivered exactly as promised. I would definitely use Karen's again and recommend them to anyone else. The recipient wasn't home for delivery so the flowers were brought back to the shop. I called late that day and asked about the missed delivery and they were very helpful and explained the situation to me. I along with a group of friends, ordered a funeral wreath with a sash. What was delivered, was in fact, a wreath, but without the sash that actually was the main component of the floral arrangement. The wreath was very small, and when we called to complain about the size, they told us it was standard however, there is nothing on the website that states the size. That needs to be fixed. We were not offered any kind of discount or any compensation for the mistake about the sash. It would be nice if this business would reach out to us and offer some kind of compensation. I was visiting Bolingbrook and in need of a floral bouquet for a loved one. I live in New York City and have a wealth of florists available; unfortunately, I was unable to place an order before my flight; I assumed I could find a decent florist in town. Though apprehensive when looking at the sub-standard flowers in Karen's Floral Expressions, I decided to support a local business and hope for the best. I hoped for the best and received THE WORST bouquet of daisies. Daisies? Yes, daisies...they were the best-looking flowers in the case. With yellowed petals, the woman told me they'd "grow" and turn white like the others. Grow? Cut stems in water? I warily removed my doubt trusting her "expertise". I went to the car for my wallet, hoping for a Christmas-in-January miracle. I came back to a semi-withered bouquet of daisies in a daisy vase. She insisted the wilted flowers would open. The next day, I was unable to present the dead flowers to anyone (let alone a loved one). I had to head back to New York City right after that or I would have certainly returned to Karen's Floral Expressions with the dead daisies in tow. So yeah, I paid $50 for a vase with painted daisies on it. I'm disappointed by Karen's Floral Expressions' lack of ethics; if your business isn't equipped to handle an order, you need to be forthright. Also, I was charged $50 for DAISIES. Not sure what the others are complaining about other than the occasion in which flowers die en route, which is rare. Floral arrangement PICTURES are rarely what you get exactly...ANYWHERE......it's meant to be representative of the picture. If you don't know that then the problem in this equation is certainly the uninformed. These complaints are people that can't be pleased so who needs 'em! Now, I live in the area for 14 years and stumbled on Karen's about 2 years ago. They have TOTALLY ACCOMMODATED ME a couple times with last minute this or that. Granted, I'm well aware that the selection dwindles when you do last minute but I'm not registering complaints on the biased site that is Yelp like others are about petty stuff like that. Karen's has gone out of the way for me. Arrangements have been BEAUTIFUL and lasting 2 weeks or more always. If I could give this store no stars, I would. I came here to inquire about wedding flowers (we have a HUGE wedding party, 16 bridesmaids and groomsmen) I set an appointment earlier in the week. When we came in, after waiting for about 10 minutes for someone to come greet us I explained that I was here for an appointment. The employee told me to "go sit at the front table and look at the books to see what you like, I will be there in a few minutes" Thirty minutes later the employee finally came over with a pad of paper and a pen and said "well what do you want to order" I explained that I knew nothing about flowers and was hoping for some guidance. She asked me what kind of flowers I liked and what colors. I explained to her my wedding colors were silver and a dark blue. She gave me absolutely no information or direction at all, my sister in law used to work for a florist YEARS ago and explained the books they had out were the same book she used many years before. The woman who assisted is was not helpful and once we had gone through and picked some basic flowers that she wrote down, she never even showed me samples when I asked. Not only that but the prices she quoted me were almost twice as much as other florists we had been too. First and last time I use their service. The floral arrangement sent to my mother did not look anything like the one I picked online. This was the first time I was missing my moms birthday. My fiancé is in the military and we are stationed in another state. I thought it would cheer her up to be surprised with a floral arrangement, but the picture she sent me made me feel like I wasted my money and it didn't get the response I was hoping for. I emailed the company complaining about the arrangement and they responded with an explanation as to how they felt it was of equal value. Then asking me how they could make me happy. Nice, right? It is unfortunate my first review on Yelp is a bad one. Karen's Floral Expression shouldn't be in the business of special occasions florists. I ordered orchids for my mother-in-law's mother wake, and they were never delivered. Furthermore, rather than being apologetic and accommodating, they were defensive and completely unprepared in how to deal with mishaps and processes of their own business! For example: Delivery etiquette: Using the garage door, instead of the front door to deliver flowers! Refund Policy: Not knowing the processes for their payment servicer, in this case, PayPal Customer Service: Arguing with the client, and stating their side of the mishap multiple times without listening to the customer's experience or providing alternative solutions and ways for moving forward. I will not be using Karen's Floral Expression in the future and recommend only people to use their services if they are willing to hand-hold them through the customer service experience and delivery process. My mom sends me flowers from Karen's for every holiday. They do truly beautiful work and I have never had an issue until this past Friday. I received my flowers at work but it appears the vase tipped over during delivery. There was water all inside the bag - hardly any in the vase and some of the flowers were damaged. I called Karen's and made them aware of the issue. After looking up the order, they immediately told me they would deliver another arrangement. Seeing as I work close to the store, I opted to just stop and pick them up. When I walked in, the store was pretty busy - being that it was Valentine's weekend but I was greeted immediately, told them who I was and they went to get my new arrangement. It was gorgeous! They explained they had a new delivery driver and apologized for how I received my original bouquet. I am extremely happy with the replacement. Let's just say customer service is not Karen's Floral Expressions strong suit. I ordered a "get well" bouquet the day before my girlfriend went into surgery. The dream was to have the flowers at her parents house in Plainfield before she arrived home. I understand that Karen's Floral used a florist in Joliet to fill my order, so the chances that the flowers would be there at the time desired was probably out of my hands and not logical. My girlfriend arrived home from her surgery to no flowers. Ok, a little disappointing, but no big deal. Well, hours go by...still no flowers. I call Karen's at 2:45p to get a status on the delivery. I was told they flowers we're on the truck and that they would be delivered later. More time ticks away. At 8p I check in with the gf's family to see if they flowers had been delivered. NOTHING. I call Karen's and of course they are closed for the night. At this point I'm pretty upset. $8.95 delivery fee on top of the a $4.95 additional fee and a 5.95 wire fee all stacked up on what I actually paid for the arrangement...and NO FLOWERS. I called Karen's the next morning to figure out the situation. I asked for a manager and was connected with a very abrasive woman. I broke down the details for her and she informed me that the florist probably tried to deliver and no one was home. She then said that they probably left a note on the door and would re deliver today. She hung up with me and called the florist. She called me back even more abrasive at this point knowing she was dealing with an unhappy customer. She told me that they tried to deliver, but no one was home and they would try to deliver again at some point that day. I explained to her that I didn't understand why one of the two contact numbers I had supplied on the order were not called, or why a note was not left on the door. She said they don't call contact numbers because "they don't want to bother the sender." Umm..didn't I just lay down some decent money for flowers? Would I not be concerned about the status of the delivery? I told her that the surprise at this point was ruined and that my girlfriend was already home from her surgery. Her response...and I kid you not.."well sir, she's still recovering." My jaw dropped to the floor. No.."yes sir I understand" or "we're trying to deliver the flowers as fast as possible." NOPE. I'm given attitude. At that point I asked to cancel the order and a full refund. She spouted back "That's fine..we'll cancel the order and send a message to your girlfriend that you canceled her flowers." I couldn't figure out if she said this to shame me or not. I mean at that point, I seriously doubted they'd be capable of delivering anything. I then asked how I would receive confirmation of refund to my debit card. She snarked back "Sir, I've been doing this for 30 years..you'll have to just trust me." I thought at this point the "trust tree" had been chopped down. Finally, I asked for the name of the florist used so I could confirm that this lady was telling me the truth. She informed me that if I canceled my order she would not give me the name. I asked "If I keep my order can I have the name of the florist?" I was given a stern "No." Needless to say I canceled the order. I've never dealt with customer service as bad as Karen's Floral Expressions. It was dumb of me to go through a second party florist in the first place, but I certainly never expected to be treated like that. I recommend Karen's Floral Expressions to no one. read more

If you are looking for someone that is unorganized and a hot mess, than go with Karen. She for one can't read her own handwriting and has told me that several times, she forgot to put in flowers for the brides and grooms parents. Which I scheduled a year before the wedding! I pre-ordered flowers for a wedding shower and paid $64.00 for (14) them. They came wilted and not usable. I was treated very rudely by the owner, Karen, who begrudgingly put wires on the flowers, which did not help the way they looked at all. She let me know that she really was going out of her way to help me because she had a wedding to get ready for and really did not have time. When I got home, I had to go to Jewel and buy roses. She kept saying how easy it would be to just bring along my little plant with the order. Then, when I went to pay, I was charged $10 for delivery. I was shocked and asked why I had to pay a delivery fee when they were already going there. Same place and time and she just looked at me. Didn't offer to take off the fee.
