A friend of my referred me to this place, so I knew I could give it a shot without being disappointed. I also booked the same maid that my friend uses so with her being a regular, it could've helped with increasing the intention of promoting their top service! My apartment was pristine and all the requests that I made were perfectly completed. It looked like super new and was pleasing to the eye. The staff were very professional and brought their own cleaning supplies. They used some quality vacuum and soap dispenser in a mop (I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge for these terms). The machines were not rowdy despite my initial worry that it would disrupt my neighbors. They also moved all my furnitures and made sure to get every spot. I believe the service they provide is excellent and they would be able to satisfy the needs of anyone. I had a pleasant experience with the staff as they were super friendly and outgoing. I was really disappointed. First off; I paid 400 for a deep clean. Several places were missed in several obvious areas of dusting. The lady came alone, and spent about five hours for which was given 60$ tip. The company knew the rooms and the footage and even left the upstairs. I was searching for a new company and thought for what I OVERPAID would have at least been more detailed. The lady didn't speak English which is fine in the industry but still hard to convey areas that needed more work than others. They missed dusting all the side panels of the floors, master headroom highboy, sides of wood furniture, and other obvious places. Did not clean the trash can or take out the trash. She showed up with a shark vacuum already filled and not empty -- big red flag!!!!! I would not use them at all, they are a big rip off. read more

Scheduled a deep clean, but a lot of areas were left unclean: shower grout, light fixtures, windows have fingerprints, spots on the stairs, fingerprints on appliances. I'm definitely disappointed and didn't get my money's worth at all. After 5+ weeks of back and forth with Suzy, Grace and Michelle and now 2.5 weeks after being told I would receive a 30% refund (laughable) for their poor service, I have been informed that no refund will be processed - no explanation, no follow-up and all calls/voicemails fully ignored. Apparently honest feedback for terrible services warrants brutal customer service and even worse business practices. What a sad excuse for a company. If you're considering Karen's Green Maids for anything, do yourself a favor, take half of what you were going to pay them and light it on fire, then take the other half and give it to a friend to kick you in the pants... you'll be far better off. Also interesting to see no fantastic follow through or response on this review from the company, or maybe I'll get their standard response to poor reviews, "We're sorry you must have hired a different Karen's Green Maids"... My experience with Karen's was exactly how I wish businesses treat all their patrons! I called Karen's because of their use of green products, and Michelle answered. She was extremely informative, and was able to customize my cleaning to what I needed (I had a pretty empty space and needed to get ready for a showing). They were able to fit me in on the same day, and they were able to accommodate me earlier than expected. I got text alerts well ahead of time. Yesenia came on time and was so efficient, and so sweet! I've had many experiences with house cleaners throughout the years and each time, I get really anxious about what I have to do to prepare for the cleaners to come. I was not happy with my service. I paid $330 for a deep clean. The cleaners did not even bother to clean the floor under our end tables or any of the furniture. The bathtub still had ajax all over it. The floors still had dirt on them. The lamps were not dusted. How is that considered a deep clean? I booked a Deep Cleaning at a cost of $179 for a 800 Sq ft Garden apartment. for a Saturday at 8am. The lady on the phone was very nice. The booking was confirmed. I received multiple email conformations before the appointment, as well as a reminder that there would be a cancellation fee if I cancelled 48 hrs before. Day of cleaning (8am) I receive a call stating the cleaner will be 15 minutes late. At 8:45am I called and emailed to cancel appointment as no one had showed or called me back. At 8:50 I get a call, saying the cleaner is outside. I stated I had already cancelled and therefore would look in another direction. I was told there would be a fee. After a back and forth conversation it was finally agreed I would not be charged. My review is, as is. If you cant turn up anywhere near on time, and think you are going to charge me for your late service, you are not the type of company I would like to deal with. DO NOT USE THESE CLEANERS.!! We've had our house cleaned weekly for some time. However, my mom is now going through chemo and wanted to try a 'green' cleaning to avoid more chemicals. We paid $266 for 6 hrs of cleaning through Groupon. My mom left for chemo(left the cleaners there)and when she came back an hour later, they were gone. She said, "I felt like crying". The house looked almost the same. They didn't do the floors, wipe down counters, and left the trash in the bathroom.("We forgot") They didn't "get to" to the guest room -which is why she wanted them to clean also (guest coming). The master bedroom and bathroom ARE only one room! no bathtub, one counter. and no dresser (drawers are built-in in the closet). They didn't even vacuum. I feel they took advantage of a 79-year-old woman who was sick. I called and talked to Karen and she said because it's a deep cleaning, they didn't get around to the other room or the rest of the house. I asked her if she could 'fix' this and she refused. We already paid the $266 - just to clean it ourselves. I pay $60/weekly and am left with a house twice as clean as they left it. It's a rip off. Plain and simple. Got an airbnb out in Albany Park with some friends recently to visit some other friends who lived out in the area. Long story short we ended up getting the house pretty messed up, as all places get when you mix college aged kids with alcohol. Do not hire this company! Our regular wonderful cleaning lady was on vacation so I booked this cleaner. Wow was it a mistake. Within 20 minutes of being here, the cleaning woman on the job asked me for a plunger and told me the toilet was clogged. We have lived here nearly 3 years and don't even own a plunger because we've never had issues. I had heard her flush the toilet a few times while cleaning and thought it seemed excessive. I asked her several times if she had flushed anything, and she repeatedly lied to my face. I contacted the company, but they were very unhelpful and unresponsive for several hours, so I finally called a plumber myself as it got closer to 5 pm, so we wouldn't have to pay evening rates. Right away the plumber found cleaning wipes that had been flushed and caused the issue. He confirmed they were such and even put it in writing to provide to Karen's, along with his phone number. Despite the proof, Karen's Green Cleaners refuses to reimburse us for the cost of the plumber, nor did they make any effort to get a plumber to my house themselves. I have never had such an awful experience with a company. Karen's has no respect for your home and they do not employ trustworthy people. Don't give them business! read more

Chicago house cleaning service really helped with me in cleaning my small area in Chicago. Being someone who travels frequently I booked an Air BnB in Chicago. Upon getting there, the house cleaners went through and cleaned up the mess thoroughly and got rid of everything that was messy. Being kind of a clumsy person they really set the area back to being how it was when I got there. Compared to some other cleaning service I've used, they were efficient yet thorough. When I'm in the area again they would be my first call. Very good service as well. The workers were very kind and took to my requests well. One thing I would note is that they were a tad late but reading other reviews said they were punctual. Must have been a one off event. I definitely enjoyed the service. Booked this service a few times. Cleaning jobs were ok, not always the most consistent, and despite some times having two cleaners, things would go uncleaned (baseboards, etc). Please note: they give you a one hour arrival window. While initially the cleaners were punctual, they increasingly came later and later during this window, including the most recent time where 45 minutes into it my cleaner was nowhere to be seen--especially frustrating because I had taken off work. The onus was on me to call the company, ask where the cleaner was, etc (spoiler alert: she was not on her way). The company was not particularly helpful or sorry, and was not accommodating in either helping me rebook or giving me some sort of future discount. So in summary: okay service, but inconsistent, unreliable, not accommodating, frustrating beyond all belief. Would NOT recommend this service AT ALL if you are a person who values efficiency and reliability and generally speaking has things to do. What a disappointment. read more
