Had our move out cleaning service not took 8hrs I would've given 5 stars. Naomi was great but very slow. We had a typical move out; sweep, mop, bathrooms, kitchen...inside cabinets, baseboards and fridge are additional costs?!?! Isn't that a full move out cleaning service? It took double the time and we had an internet setup appt to run to at 4pm and she still wasn't finished (She started at 10am...6hrs). We were quoted 4-5hrs...it took 8! We ended up missing our appt and had to miss another day of work. Naomi mentioned "They never give us enough time based off estimates." We did a time check twice to see how much longer. In the future, I think it needs to be clearly communicated exactly how much longer and people can adjust their schedules. read more

I've been using Gingerella for a couple years now. I used them at my old place for a while, then stopped when my girlfriend moved in and we decided to give keeping our place clean on our own a go. When that little experiment clearly did not work out, we decided to sign back up with Gingerella since my previous experience was so great with them. I was afraid I had just got lucky with my cleaner the first time around, but that was definitely not the case. Our new cleaner Amy was so great and friendly. Easy to work with, and incredibly trustworthy. I absolutely hate having people in my home who I don't know, and I felt totally at ease with Amy. Sadly Amy recently left to pursue an opportunity, but the few times we had to re-schedule while Amy was our cleaner and we got someone else, they were also always super cool and did a great job. read more

I just had my second appointment and it went just as smoothly as the first. I have a hectic and unpredictable schedule so making appointments far in advance isn't an option for me; gingerella always fits me in within a few days. I've had Victoria and TJ work on my place and both were great! My only wish is that the option to add essential oils for mopping was default. I always forget to request it and I think that in your face fresh scent (obviously all awful chemicals) is the one thing I miss about using non-green products. Fantastic cleaning experience! I needed a quick move out deep clean, and was able to schedule an appointment quickly and easily with Gingerella. I compared rates and quotes for my 1BR 1 BA, and Gingerella was the best bang for my buck. I first sought out Gingerella for assistance at our former home, a three bedroom apartment in Albany Park, back in 2013. At that time, they pleasantly declined the opportunity and no harm done, I understood why and truly appreciated their honesty around capacity. Recently I circled back to see if they were accepting new clients. The cleaning company we've kept for six years closed shop and we were in the market for a new service. I couldn't get my online inquiry form to submit, so I sent a detailed email to their address. Bobby responded quickly with their canned messaging (the same I received in '13) and I shared a lot of the details again in response but took time to be detailed and helpful. From there, I never heard back. It's just too bad. It's weird to feel like I just don't cut it when so many of our friends and neighbors use this company already. We're similar and we very much love and adore the space in which we live. We've been using Gingerella for twice monthly cleanings since September. We are so happy with Gingerella and our cleaner, Kat. She does an amazing job. A few weeks ago, there was a plumbing issue in the building. Not a huge deal, but the plumbers were there making a mess the day or my normal cleaning. Kat and Marcie worked to find another slot the very next day. The job is always done well. Even our animals are happy when Kat comes over. If you're thinking of pulling the trigger on a cleaning company, don't hesitate to hire Gingerella. We've had precisely zero issues. The cost is more than fair. They communicate well. I joined Yelp specifically to write this review. I looked forward to Gingerella's service due to the reviews on here. My experience was very different. They cancelled their first appointment on very short noticed and rescheduled to a different day. When I signed up they told me I would get an email the evening before the cleaning. On the third cleaning, after bouncing around to different days to accommodate their schedule. This morning they came to my house unannounced for a cleaning. Due to the lack of notice I didn't leave my key for them. I got a call from the cleaner. We discussed the situation. She apologized for the miscommunication. I offered to come home at lunch to drop a key so she could flip flop her afternoon appointment. She stated it wouldn't work. This afternoon I got an email from Bria informing me that they were penalizing me $30. The email included the following: "With how busy our little business has become, and with the sheer number of people on our waiting list to get into our schedule, it is only fair that clients keep their appointments with our team members, just as we do yours." It kind of feels like they saying they are doing me a favor by letting me be one of their customers. In short I've used other cleaning services at homes I've had in other cities, and this is the worst experience I have had with a cleaning service. So I cancelled my service freeing up a spot for the next person on their waiting list. read more

We had Gingerella come for a deep clean last week with the assumption we would then be scheduling twice monthly, shorter cleanings thereafter. Scheduling was easy enough via email, but they're busy, so we had to schedule a few weeks in advance, which was a bit of a let down. We mailed them a key, and the day of the cleaning they kept us updated on their progress, which was nice. When we got home, the place was spotless. Misty did a great job and left us a nice note. The house didn't smell like bleach and cleaning solution, which I found nice, but if you're looking for that with your cleaning, you'll be disappointed. They use natural products (good for your and your pets). When we asked if she would be back in two weeks, we were informed that she was booked for the next three to four weeks, and apparently our request for regular scheduled cleanings had not been received. What a bummer. I hope next time we won't have to do another deep clean since she was there for five hours the first time. I really like the work they did. But fingers crossed the scheduling doesn't become a problem. Seems like they might be expanding quicker than they should. read more

This was my first time using a cleaning service. A friend recommended that I give Gingerella a call, based on her 2 year, bi-monthly relationship & consistent 5 star experience with them. I just moved into a 2 bedroom, 1400 sq ft. apartmtent May 1st & was dealing with the aftermath of moving into a filthy space that the former tenants left behind. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to '"deep clean" the mess prior to my move, due to time constraints. There's nothing worse than moving into a new space with other people's life-crust & stench and then having to acclimate to it for weeks while in transition......makes you feel gross & your skin crawl. I contacted Bria & told her my plight. She was very sympathetic, positive, pro-active & flexible. Due to the high demand for Gingerella's services in the beginning of June, she worked with my wacky schedule to accommodate the best time to send both Kate & Bobby over. After discussing a flexible estimate based on my needs, Bria wasn't sure if it would be a one or 2 person job, but ensured me that Bobby (co-owner of Gingerella) would accompany Kate to assess & evaluate. She gave me a fair estimate of 2 -4 1/2 hours & asked, in addition to general cleaning, what I would like Gingerella to focus on. Beyond the general crustiness of the space, here was my laundry list: 1. Black, greasy, hairy sideboards in all 7 rooms 2. Grease coated oven-hood that you could run a finger nail through---I had tried to de-grease it unsuccessfully 3. Furry, dust-coated, years of funk on 4 ceiling fans 4. Large, questionable greasy stains on wall of second bedroom 5. Cloying, sour, rank, baby-diaper stench in bathroom where a diaper pail was kept. I used everything from bleach to essential oils, to eradicate the nauseating smell unsuccessfully. 6. Years of mold accumulation & grout discoloration in the shower. In addition, I have an ageing, slighty- curmudgeon, miniature Schnauzer that not only barks at everyone new in my apartment but wants to be underfoot at all times. Bria didn't miss a beat---not a problem. We worked out how to manage the situation. I wasn't going to be home, but Bobby & Kate would let themselves in & put him on my enclosed deck. Fast forward to later that day: I came home to an amazingly clean apartment! It looked as good as it smelled. Gingerella's attention to detail and beyond, blew my mind's expectations. Everything on my laundry-list was taken care of: The oven hood was like new. Immaculately clean ceiling fans. Gleaming baseboards. They took the time to care for my pooch--what cleaning service does that? And most importantly: the sickly, sour stench of months-old, dirty diapers-- what smell in the bathroom? No longer the stress of living for 3 weeks with my stuff co-mingling in former tenant's scab. What a relief! And to boot, after Bobby assessed the situation, it turns out that the amazing Kate did the entire job solo under 3 1/2 hours--it doesn't get better than this. Let me tell you about Gingerella. First of all, the two cleaners I've had have been extremely thorough and friendly. I've had two cleaners because I had to change my schedule around, but they keep the same cleaner for my home and which helps with my second point Second point being, I'm a bit neurotic. I have a dog who isn't good with strangers and while I do keep him locked up, I'm very much a "worst case scenario" person and have considered that he could somehow Cujo his way out. Of all the companies I contacted, Gingerella was the most helpful and reassuring that it wouldn't be a problem and didn't make me feel like a crazy person. Third point - pricing. VERY affordable compared to the companies I contacted and they don't leave my home smelling chemically. It just smells..like a clean home. Don't hesitate in hiring Gingerella. They came recommended by a friend so I gave them a try. What was cleaned, was okay. Didn't know this but they don't clean dishes - I had a couple glasses in the sink that were left, as well as a dishwasher that was all clean too. In the past, other cleaning services have hand washed and/or unloaded/loaded the washer. This was all left untouched. Bed was left unmade. I think dusting and vacuuming was done but for the most part, it was an okay job. Underwhelmed. I had to cover parking as well. I was between 2 and 3 stars but I'm keeping it at 2. I have been working with Chase of Gingerella for 3 months now. Chase is always on time/ friendly and does a great job. I have yoga mats down all over my wood floors for my corgi who has bad hips and cannot walk on wood. Matt did a fantastic job cleaning my flat - making like new all the places that seemed beyond hope, even doing minor (unobtrusive) organization. Ryan and Bria are absolutely fantastic to work with. Bria was great with scheduling, logistics and pricing and Ryan does a stunning job cleaning. Pricing was definitely fair (I would say better than fair) and it's done by the hour. So if you ever need them to spend some extra time in an area they're totally cool flexing up or down with your budget and cleaning needs. I couldn't imagine hiring another cleaning service. One of our friends recently said it was getting more difficult to schedule the initial cleaning. Obviously it's because they're booked since they're awesome. We have been through many cleaning services over the years, and I think we finally found our match. The staff is extremely professional, friendly and conscientious. It feels so comfortable having them in our home. They work fast, take pride in their work, and cleaning jobs have been fantastic. Marcie is a PLEASURE to work with! We only had one less than stellar experience. Not a big deal, but we mentioned it to the powers that be, and got a $15 credit for the next time. Every other visit has been terrific. I love these guys! Setting up a move-out cleaning with Marcie was super easy. I like that they are very responsive over email and I don't have to talk to anyone on the phone. Matt did my actual cleaning and he did SUCH a good job. After four years my apartment had accumulated all sorts of dust and grease and Matt made everything look brand new. He showed up on time, was very nice, and texted me when he was finished. He even took out the bag of trash I had left from the last of my packing. I've been a monthly customer of Gingerella for two-and-a-half years and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the company and the people who clean my home. In that time I've had three long-term cleaners, all of whom have been incredibly professional. In the rare occurrence when my regular cleaner is unavailable for a specific date, they'll send a substitute - all of whom have been wonderful as well. The cleaning they do is fantastic - they get into the corners and crevices that I'm not brave enough to clean and I'm SO thankful for that. They take on the harder challenges if I give them a bit of warning and have tackled my baseboards, blinds, shared/common stairwells, etc. Check out their website for their list of what they'll take care of, but I also have great luck in just reaching out and asking directly. They had great reviews so I gave them a try. I am so glad that I did! Bria responded immediately to my email request and within a day, we had the first cleaning scheduled. Ryan arrived at our home and went right to work. He did an amazing job cleaning the tile and grout in our shower (which desperately needed attention). I was skeptical that he could make it sparkle using all natural cleaners, but he did! He was thorough and diligent. Right off the bat, I felt pretty confident in this little company based on Yelp reviews and research I had done...they did not disappoint! I will echo another review and just say that Bobby was incredibly nice and genuine and I had no qualms having them in my place. They responded quickly to my inquiry and I was able to get an appointment within days - not so with many other companies, so I appreciated that! My place wasn't super dirty to begin with (or at least I thought) but let me tell you, the 'deep clean' gets to places you didn't even think of - vents, fans, corners, top and inside of appliances, etc. After Gingerella came, it was spanking clean and I can tell even with my animals it's going to last me a while. I'm very happy. The service took about 4 hours - it was a little longer than I had hoped but the fact that they got every nook and cranny made up for it. However, because Marcie the owner handled my dissatisfaction so respectfully & with a professionalism one rarely gets to experience these days, I wanted to give her new business another chance. Wow, was I impressed! We live in a small and very old apartment building with two cats & a short-haired dog; Colleen created pure magic with this challenge! My husband does maintenance for AirBnB and has been remodelling homes for several years, and when he came returned from work, he exclaimed that the kitchen sink looked like a brand-new fixture. I'll have to agree with him - nobody has ever left the chrome that sparkling and shiny. The only reason why I won't give it five stars is because of my first experience. If you were to ask any of my former roommates...my housekeeping expectations are unreasonable. So when the boyfriend moved in, we decided to treat ourselves to a professional cleaning service to preserve the domestic bliss. I wasn't happy with the first two we tried & was starting to get discouraged when I called Gingerella. I chose Gingerella because they use green products, their yelp reviews were positive, & they are a smaller company. Over the phone, Bobby was polite, the quote was reasonable, & they were accommodating about scheduling the visit. On cleaning day, Bria & Bobby were on time, brought all of their supplies, were very pleasant, & answered all my questions. When I came home that evening to a sparkly-clean home, it made my day! They did a great job, up to & including details like the bathroom fan. They also charged me based on the actual time it took, which turned out to be a little less than they originally quoted. We hosted a holiday dinner shortly after they came & received compliments from the guests on how nice & clean it was.
