Once inside, we waited for a few minutes before an employee approached us. In a muffled voice, they seemed to ask if we were there for boba, to which we responded yes. They mentioned something unclear and said "moment," so we assumed they were going to come to prepare our order. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the employee returned and, rather bluntly, asked if we needed something. When we reiterated that we were there for boba, they curtly informed us that it was closed. While we understand things happen, clearer communication and better signage would have saved us time and frustration. We were excited to try the boba, but the lack of professionalism and overall experience left a sour impression. That said, the axe throwing setup looked interesting, so perhaps that's worth exploring in the future.

I've looked up Culvers scoop of the day, a million times, and never noticed this ice cream place before. So I click, cause I was ready and baited. Apparently, they are only open on Saturday and Sunday. Perfect, it was Saturday, and even better it's near(ish) my house It's a food truck shop. They make their own ice cream. The menu changes. Not sure how often, yet. The prices weren't super high, the scoop size was decent, healthy. They let us try some flavors, (Handles doesn't even let you do that, anymore. Point goes to The Perfect Scoop!) There were a couple tables you could sit at, otherwise it's outside, off of a busy road, kinda vibe. We got in the car and ate it on the way home. My husband and I both went with the airplane Biscoff flavor. Not too sweet, not too much Biscoff. I'm not Goldilocks, but it was just right. We will be back.

Today I took my 9- and 10-year-old niece and nephew to the Lake Pleasant location for a special ice cream treat. My niece, who is a very polite and respectful little girl, asked to try a sample flavor. She didn't care for it, so she politely asked if she could try one more flavor before deciding. This was only her second sample, there was no line, and I had already begun ordering for our group of four. At that point, an employee named Lily abruptly told her, "That's enough. You already had one sample," in a tone that felt unnecessarily sharp and unkind. My niece was embarrassed, and I felt it was especially disappointing because she was simply trying to choose an ice cream she would enjoy. I mentioned to Lily that I felt her response was rude and unnecessary, particularly since the store was not busy. Unfortunately, the interaction continued to feel unpleasant. After we sat outside, my niece realized she did not like the flavor she had selected. I went back inside, spoke with the manager, Brianna, and explained what had happened. Brianna was polite and apologized for Lily's behavior, which I appreciated. I then purchased another scoop after my niece was finally allowed to sample the strawberry flavor and confirm she liked it. What bothered me most was not the cost of the ice cream, but the way the situation was handled. As Lily was leaving for the day, she walked past us, gave us a dirty look, and appeared to laugh. It felt very disrespectful and unprofessional. I am sharing this because I genuinely enjoy Handel's and would hate to see customers, especially children, treated this way. A little kindness goes a long way, and customer service should make people feel welcome, not uncomfortable. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback.
