Karl Nordvik Park is named for the entirety of the acreage. not all of it is available to the general public per se. the softball field, soccer/lacrosse field has to be "reserved". only authorized sports equipment can be used thereon. there's also swings, hoops, and 2 children's play area, concrete walkways. some parking spaces available on the side.

This is a really nice park. Soccer, basketball court and a really cool playground. It's newer, clean and the patrons are pretty friendly. There is a not of shade but they do get a nice breeze from the bay that is not that far.

This is a really great park for many reasons. Ample parking, not close to a busy street, basketball courts and huge grass areas, a picnic area, etc, in addition to 2 separate playgrounds: one for big kids and one for little kids. I love that they have many different options for play. The equipment is clean and well maintained. The park also has bathrooms - a must if you have kids. The only downside is there is no shade and this park gets very hot during the summer.

Karl Nordvik Park is located here in North Fremont, closer to the Newark Border. Only walking distance from where I live, this community park, is situated near many housing communities and is pretty big with a decent parking lot. There is also street parking if needed. The park is pretty clean, there wasn't much trash lying around. It has 2 full basketball courts, with nets attached to the baskets. There is also a pretty decent sized baseball field. Now, for the little younger ones, there are 2 playgrounds. One for little ones, and one for older ones to play in. There pretty well kept, clean, and easy for kids to use. This community park, does have a restroom/bathroom for you to use, although I've never used it before. Safety: Should be fine, usually lot of families here because it's located near bunch of housing communities. However, you should always be on the look out for strange things happening and be aware of your surroundings. Overall, this is a great park to spend sometime with friends just to chill, play, have fun, be athletic, and be outgoing!

2 full-court basketball courts. Closest hoop is single rimmed.

One of my favorite places to play basketball. It's one of the few in the area that have 2 full courts (with college 3-point lines), and the competition is pretty much on the intermediate level. If you don't get along well with double rimmed hoops, this probably isn't the place for you. Well, only one of the 4 available baskets is single rimmed, which is a lot more encouraging. Usually, there's enough people to run one-full court game on the weekdays, usually around mid-afternoon til early evening. In some cases, 2 full court games will go on. Haven't been here on the weekends when there's usually a good amount of people, but there's usually at least one hoop available to practice your shooting. The courts surfaces are a little uneven, and one of the courts' rims is a little tilted toward one side. The court closest to the playground can use some revitalizing considering there are some cracks. You can also expect some wind to drift in coming off the shore. The playground is usually busy with parents taking their little kids to run around and socialize with each other. Easily a good family park located in a quiet neighborhood. Great place to get a pickup game going. Watch out for the double rims!

Keep, Family friendly park, love the atmosphere everyone is really friendly and there is always Soccer to watch, we are currently part of Northern California Rush Soccer Club, which is awesome! They always keep the turf park clean and they always welcome in a lot of new players. They currently run their competitive and recreation league out of Karl Nordvic Park!

Around sunset on a Monday there were still lots of people sitting on the benches, walking, biking, jogging, and roller blading. Felt pretty safe, but when the sun sets there's not many walkway/street lamps so keep that in mind. Lots of Canadian geese and we got to see their awkward teenage goslings. There's some ducks and we got to see what looked like cormorant and I think a small heron. We also got to see small song birds and some robins too. It's neat that they have bird houses on some of the trees too and we got to see some ground squirrels. I think the prehistoric themed playground is super nice too. I LOVE themed things so the little saber tooth structure from the distance was quite nice. Along the lake are some "work out equipment" like a pull up bar and parallel bars. Lots of bird turds, so be wary of where you walk, but other than that. A solid park.

There's also a basketball court and a community center, which makes the park useful for different kinds of events. The playground area is decent, especially for kids. I noticed the padding looks like it was recently redone, which is nice. The play area has a little wall climber, slide, pole, and stairs. I do think the wood around the slide area could use some updating because it looks kind of old, and the slides seem extremely high, which I think should be changed or made safer. The bathrooms are currently being redone, so that's good to see. Overall, it's a decent park with good space and activities for families.

The park has improved over the years since they added bleachers at the parking lot as well as renovating the playgrounds. It's not really a big park but it's convenient for those who live really close to it. They have a building called Irvington Community Center, which I think is a place for children's activities. There is another building which is small. I think it was supposed to be a library, but is recently closed. Right next to it is the ballot drop box, where I usually go to drop my ballot envelope. Nothing much changed overall but it's good to reminisce the memories I have going here when I was a kid.

Which makes sense when you're in a concrete urban jungle day in and day out - we just weren't meant to live this way. I literally searched Yelp for a park in the area on my way home, and Lakeshore came up. Tucked away in a residential area, Lakeshore is a small-ish, serene, well-kept park with, as the name implies, a lake being the central point. I strolled on the path for a bit. I'm not sure how long the path is, but it seems like a good spot to get a decent walk in, and there were a few walkers and joggers. After stretching my legs for a bit, I grabbed some bench and watched the birds - geese (these guys are huge!), seagulls, ducks, and crows - hanging out and eyeballing me to determine if I had food. They were so cute. There is nothing that gets me feeling better fast than being around animals. The human animals that passed by were nice as well, with smiles and hellos, how refreshing. I spent some time just sitting and resetting. It was good. I need to do this more. Nice park, enjoyed a much-needed reprieve here, and would return.
