    Lake Elizabeth

Dinosaur themed childrens playground at Central Park. Tree-slide, fake stone and bones play structures, and near the water. All of these done in tribute to the forgotten history of the ice age mammoths, camel, and horse fossils that were unearthed in the Irvington area from the late 19th century all the way to the 1950s. The most obvious reference being the mastodon skeleton that kids that kids can climb on. All play areas have rubber floors and there are separate areas for smaller kids and big kids. It's creative with ties to authentic history that is much appreciated. It is a fun and exciting park so it does get crowded, early in the morning or when the sun isn't out is the best time since there is very little shade and not that much sitting area. There are plenty of bathrooms nearby and Lake Elizabeth and numerous hiking and walking trails are nearby if your little one want to go for a bike or scooter ride.

Kids play here for hours at a time and never get bored.

This is a great playground. The other day my kiddos played for 3 straight hours before I had to pull them out of it so we can have dinner. The only down side to this playground area is how busy and crowded it can get, especially on the weekends! It's a very popular spot. But early in the day on the weekdays (before 3pm) it's much better.

Really neat and unique playground that is great for climbing, and make-believe play. There is a huge stone structure shaped like a sabertooth tiger that kids can climb, slide down, or hide under. Also multiple playground structures with treehouse themes to them where kids can also climb up through the hollow tree trunks. The entire playground is padded. There is a small tot structure, and some rock fossils on the ground for young toddlers, but overall the playground is geared for older toddlers or kids. There is also another playground area next to the lake that you can see from Sabercat, and is about a 5 minute walk. Great place to come for the day since it is part of Lake Elizabeth so you can take a stroll around the lake, see all the ducks/geese, and picnic in the fields or the picnic tables. Bathrooms are currently open, but water fountains are turned off. The main caveat is that it is completely unshaded so the whole playground can get insanely hot on sunny days. Parking lots can get really crowded.

beautiful park! my family enjoyed this playground very much! however i find that it's more suitable for the brave and 5 years and older kids. if you have a more cautious 3 year old, this park might not be the best for them. But there are other things to do. There is a smaller structure for younger kids. Plenty of opened grass area for you to picnic and rest. There are pathways for people to bike, skateboard or scooter! it is awesome! i really enjoy this park and i felt like i haven't explore half of it. We cannot wait to go back and check other parts of the park like the waterpark (when it's opened), volleyball courts (with sand), there's also another playground structure in the distance in which we didn't walk to. We only stayed in the Sabrecat playground. We did see a big lake, i think it would be a nice path to do a run or bike ride!

Cute little park in Fremont. It appear to have been remodeled not long ago. Parking lot is small with limited spaces. Park is hot in sunny days. No shaded areas. Nevertheless, the children seemed to like it.

This is a great park for kids to play in. There are lots of play structures, and it is located within Central Park.

Would definitely return to check out the skate park, the water park and to walk the lake on many other occasions.

There's also a basketball court and a community center, which makes the park useful for different kinds of events. The playground area is decent, especially for kids. I noticed the padding looks like it was recently redone, which is nice. The play area has a little wall climber, slide, pole, and stairs. I do think the wood around the slide area could use some updating because it looks kind of old, and the slides seem extremely high, which I think should be changed or made safer. The bathrooms are currently being redone, so that's good to see. Overall, it's a decent park with good space and activities for families.

The park has improved over the years since they added bleachers at the parking lot as well as renovating the playgrounds. It's not really a big park but it's convenient for those who live really close to it. They have a building called Irvington Community Center, which I think is a place for children's activities. There is another building which is small. I think it was supposed to be a library, but is recently closed. Right next to it is the ballot drop box, where I usually go to drop my ballot envelope. Nothing much changed overall but it's good to reminisce the memories I have going here when I was a kid.

Around sunset on a Monday there were still lots of people sitting on the benches, walking, biking, jogging, and roller blading. Felt pretty safe, but when the sun sets there's not many walkway/street lamps so keep that in mind. Lots of Canadian geese and we got to see their awkward teenage goslings. There's some ducks and we got to see what looked like cormorant and I think a small heron. We also got to see small song birds and some robins too. It's neat that they have bird houses on some of the trees too and we got to see some ground squirrels. I think the prehistoric themed playground is super nice too. I LOVE themed things so the little saber tooth structure from the distance was quite nice. Along the lake are some "work out equipment" like a pull up bar and parallel bars. Lots of bird turds, so be wary of where you walk, but other than that. A solid park.

When we came across a video of this location on instagram we knew we had to plan a day to come. The weather says 80, but with the breeze and the slight shade from the trees it felt more like low 70s. We were lucky to get the only bench in front of the main play structure over looking the smaller ones. Others sat in lawn chairs and on blankets under the trees. There is no public restroom on site. There is a Ranch 99 about a block away, so if the lil one had to potty that is where we planned to venture. There is one food truck selling Mexican food - cash only - otherwise bring your own snacks. We were fortunate to snag parking directly in front of the park as space is limited. Around the park, there is a single block creating half a "circle" of parking availability. There is more parking around but it requires crossing the street. The residential street directly across from the park is no parking 9a-4p. There is a path for littles to ride their bikes, scooters or skate around safely, remaining visible. Our daughter kept hers in the car while she played between the multiple structures with different "friends." There is also a fitness area on site as well as a smaller tot area in a separate section of the park and a half basketball court. There was a birthday party being held on the premise. This is definitely a park we would return to if she requested. The lack of restroom does have me a bit torn, but knowing this allows us to plan a bit smarter. I would bring a friend along to accompany her as they could play on different structures while both remain visible. Our tall 6 year old played in both areas of the park - big and little kid areas - and enjoyed them both. They is quite a bit of exploring and lots to do for a free adventure day at the park.

I've called Kimber Park my home for more than half of my life, and Buena Vista Park is an irreplaceable facet of this community. It's small, quaint, and has everything you could want in a small neighborhood park. The playground has swings (my favorite!), with two big kid (adult?) and two baby swings. There's a playground structure, complete with slides, climbing bars, and a tic-tac-toe wall. Oh the days of Hot Lava Monster! There are two wooden benches to rest your weary legs, and a rough basketball court with one hoop. The expansive green field with huge trees decorating the edges of the park makes the park an ideal spot to play sports, bring your dog, or just lie on the grass and chill. I've seen people fly kites and throw frisbees, and around the perimeter there is the occasional biker and jogger--hopefully, that'll be me more often haha. I have yet to see the park filled with people to the point of noise pollution and people congestion, which contributes to the serenity of this spot. There is no parking lot, but most visitors are local community members, and there is parking along the borders of the park for those with vehicles. The park closes from 30 minutes past sunset until dawn. But, between you and me, some of the best moments in this park are at night when you and your friends can sit on the swings, stare up at the vast night sky, and marvel at the beauty of the peace, leisure, and life.
