Ordered several times over the last 3 months and I'm always happy with the food we get. I have only ever done takeout, but the fact that the food stands up to that is a testament to quality in my opinion: Garlic naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka, chicken korma, lamb lababdar, methi- all very good. Beware of spice level! I am normally a level 2 or 3, but here you should order a 0 or 1. I did not heed other yelpers' advice the first time and it was a mistake. Food was decent but not as good as prior visits except for the garlic naan which was still stellar. The vegetable nirvana was exceptional. One of the dishes they brought was incorrect and we told them it was wrong. They insisted they were right and were rude about it. So we got stuck with a dish that we didn't order. Always enjoy dining at Karma! Whether we done in in or get it to go...the food always excellent. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very pleasant atmosphere when eating in. Good selection of wine and beers to add to your experience. Just an FYI the spiciness scale goes from 0 to 5...I ordered a 3 once now I stick with a 1. Food was good, the spices were spot on, the sauces were a little runny we are use to something more think and creamy, but it still have a good taste, I had the chicken curry and my wife had chicken korma, both were good and the Naan Bread was good, both plain and garlic. The service was great from Ash, but the guy that brought the food out was piss poor, he dropped water off at our table but guess for him to say hello was to much effort, then when he brought the food basically the same to much effort to talk. read more

My wife and I have come here for years. Service is exceptional , food was always amazing and on point. However we received a gift card for the restaurant and we tried to use it and they denied us. Something along the lines of new ownership and a new point of sale system, saying they couldn't take it. It's not posted anywhere in the restaurant that this happened, only on social media. Today's dinner was also subpar. I ordered a level 4 spicy and usually it clears my sinuses but it was bland, the sauce was watery/separated and my potatoes undercooked. Good food, not freshly prepared as it is served minutes after ordering. Waiter (he is the usual one there) is not friendly and the staff clearly wants you to eat quickly and leave, although there was no one waiting for a table. The waiter might need some time off as he acts like it's a pain to bring you a scoop of food prepared hours ago. read more

I ordered the Butter Chicken [spice level 3] and my friend ordered the Nirvana with chicken [spice level 2]. We shared garlic naan, which came with 3 dipping sauces (tamarind, red pepper, mint chutney). On their own, our entrees tasted good, but when put over rice, they became bland. For my tastes, it could have used more seasoning. The naan was thin, but had a nice crisp texture. My favorite sauce was the tamarind. The service was strange, to say the least. Our waitress was efficient and helpful, but the busser came to our table every few minutes (not exaggerating) to ask if we needed to go boxes yet. The restaurant was 2 hours away from closing, and we were clearly still eating our food. Overall, it was a decent experience, but it didn't blow my mind. read more

This place smells better than it tastes, but it was the only decently reviewed place around that was open when I went to Moscow. So, Karma, there I went. I got the chicken tikka masala, which is my go-to India dish. It was a standard silver-dish serving -- so a good portion. And it was nice and creamy; I only would ask for a bit more umph in terms of flavor and spice, even if it's Moscow. Service and ambiance were both good. Bottom line: You don't have too many options, so don't have too many expectations. read more

Absolutely delicious food and gracious staff. The saag aloo spinach with potatoes is my favorite especially with the naan garlic bread is phenomenal.  Love the sizzling sheesh kabob, goat buns, and of course chicken tiki masala. Dinner here on a Thursday evening after a movie next door. Plenty of seating for one to probably 20 at a time. (LARGE space.) Seated quickly, orders were taken, and food began to arrive in a timely manner. Had the cocktail special of a Dirty Shirley - Nah, did not meet expectations. The wine pour was generous. Fried spring rolls are tasty. Had butter chicken, good. Chicken Korma is also good. Garlic naan - could not find the garlic. When ordering #3 for heat you better be serious (perfect for Hubby.) Waitstaff knew their stuff..did not seem interested, but knew their stuff. Large portions, leftovers for days, not expensive at all. Looking forward to many more visits. read more

The angst of finding out (the next day!) I did not have my memory card in my little camera did not diminish how delicious these guys were. And, how important they are I believe to the restaurant scene in the Pullman/Moscow metro--being one of two Indian options available. In an area that perhaps is not used to sub-continent cuisine, they could be really mediocre with lousy service, and still probably survive. It couldn't be any more to the contrary. Everyone was wonderful. Host, servers, and even the owner himself, were well engaged with all the diners, not just us. Apps, entrees, cold-fresh Indian lager....all were great and what I desire in an Indian experience. Usually, if I'm writing specifics about Indian food, there is probably something I didn't care for. My embarrassing pic is our leftovers the next day. Sorry, but I'll even post a terrible photo, because I consider it proof that I dined at a joint. I'll return and get the good pics next time. After hearing my son and daughter-in-law rave about the food, I took the opportunity to check it out for myself during a visit from Cali. It did not disappoint. Every dish was authentic, full of flavor, and the portions were astounding. Also, my mushroom chicken traveled well, although it did cause some scrutiny going through security at the airport. I'm excited for my next visit to try more dishes with the rest of the family! read more

We arrived with a big appetite and tried several appetizers, tandoori chicken, a vegetarian curry, roti and naan. Pleasant atmosphere. Service was attentive and we got our food promptly. After reading some reviews I was worried but this Indian restaurant was great. The bhindi masala was fantastic. We went as a party of four and ordered individually to share. Everything was great. I loved the bright colors of the restaurant and the quick service. There is such a large selection that anyone can find something good. Outstanding Indian Cuisine. We had the chicken tandoori which was as good as we have ever had. Chicken Tikka Masala was mild but delicious. The naan bread was outstanding. Vegetable samosas were very good. I want to make special mention of the chili pepper sauce. I have had a lot of chili pepper but what made this special was although it was as hot as you would expect crushed chilies to be it had tremendous flavor that broke through the heat, I suspect they may have been roasted. I do want to point out that this is a new restaurant that was quite busy. If you are inpatient or in a hurry you should give them a few weeks to iron out the wrinkles, but if you are interested in a culinary adventure and have plenty of time and some patience, bring your appetite. This outpost of Indian cuisine just opened in the Eastside Marketplace and it has wowed a veteran connoisseur of food from the subcontinent. I have my favourite spots in my native Portland, OR and I've sampled the very best of Sunnyvale and Mountain View, CA. Karma delivers sumptuous Indian fare to the Palouse. DINGI MUTTER PANEER was my chosen dish. It combined fresh mushrooms with green peas in a creamy tomato sauce and was accompanied by basmati rice. The portion was ample and the spicing was well-balanced. I ordered 'mild' spice in order to share it with my parents. GARLIC NAAN was piping hot and coated with minced garlic and a fresh herb. It was perfect for sopping up my curry after the rice was devoured. The only sour note to our otherwise perfect meal was the fact that our order took an hour to arrive. We were seated at 5:15 on a snowy Friday night along with 6-8 other parties. After all of the surrounding tables had long since finished their food and our server failed to provide a status update, we decided to leave. As we donned our parkas, the proprietor hustled to our table, apologised for the lapse and asked us to give him two minutes. True to his word, he brought out complimentary platters of samosas and pakoras. Our entrees quickly followed. The proprietor explained that several employees had failed to show up and he comped our meal. Because the food was great and the owner 'made it right,' we will definitely return. read more

So glad to see an Indian place here in Northern ID. I just wish it was better. First... entrees that normally come brimming full and able to feed 3 barely fed one. We found ourselves having to double our order on common items. Second... it tastes like an offspeed pitch looks. Not all there. Like someone pulled back on the spice (heat and flavor) to avoid offending delicate Idaho palettes used to beef (which they of course don't serve) ;) . The one thing they did not stint on was salt. First time I have ever had salty Indian. Third... service. Over the course of 90 mins our table saw 5 servers and the speed was somewhere between school zone and glacier. 2nd and probably last time here. Too bad. The search continues! read more

I was optimistic coming here because the atmosphere is nice but the service and food were terrible. The ginger chicken was breaded and mushy and didn't taste like ginger. The server charged us for an extra naan serving and got frustrated and tried to convince us we were wrong even though she acknowledged we didn't order it. Overall a very bad experience. Unable to write a review about the food quality. We waited in the lobby for 20 minutes, waiting to be seated. The restaurant was in fact open, no other customers were there. Phones continued to ring. I even called while waiting. No cooks in the kitchen, and anyone else was MIA. Was an empty restaurant.
