I went after my birthday dinner at Mariel. We came early so we were the first ones, not a problem for us. The cover charge is $30 however I got in free because it was my birthday & the guy was nice enough to lower the price for my friend! The decor has a typical lounge look, nothing special. We ordered hookah for $45 (with a change of coal pricing of $10). My friend ordered a drink, but I just wanted water. They take your ID & card to keep your tab open until you close your tab. My friend only wanted the one drink but they required she keep the tab open & hold on to her cards anyway. Our waiter (big curly pretty hair) was very sweet & energetic, we felt welcome so thank you to her. The music was LIT, hits after hits, mix of African, RnB, HipHop, Throwbacks, etc! There is absolutely no good reason to go to Karma Lounge. The music and the vibes are good but there are a multitude of options that just make way more sense. First and foremost, a $30 cover charge in Everett!? In Everett!? The best places in Boston do not even charge a $30 cover at the door and the ones that do, such as Icon in the theater district, provide a much better atmosphere and more bang for one's buck. Secondly, a $30 cover charge in Everett for a place that closes at Midnight!? At Midnight!? The COVID restrictions are over and closing at midnight with this type of cover when other places close at 2:00 AM also make Karma Lounge not worth one's time. And finally, after getting shaken down for $120 cash to pay the covers for my group, I went to the bar and was told "cash only." At this point the bartender got rude after me telling her I am not a damn drug dealer and do not have any more cash after that shake down at the door. She replies that I can use my card if I flag down a bottle girl. Moreover, the bottle girls were very busy at this time with the hookah and bottle orders. I asked the bartender for the reasoning why the bottle girl can take my card but not the bar. I expressed my frustrations and told her just take my card and I will take care of her. She got very rude at this point before storming away and said the system is down. Which obviously makes sense...apparently Karma must have separate systems. Not being able to take a card in 2021 after the pandemic, which made taking cards more prevalent is unacceptable. Karma Lounge just wants to rip people off and avoid paying taxes. There are not many reasons to go to Karma Lounge. I would strongly discourage it. read more

The nerve of theses motherf**kers. Where to begin? So my friend came to visit me from out of town and she wanted to smoke hooka. So we went to karma Lounge. First I had to chase the waitress down to order a hooka. Then they didn't want to give us a table to smoke after ordering. We waited for a couple people to get up from a table and we sat there. After 20 mins of the table next to us giving us dirty looks assuming they were trying to use that table as well, Some random man came up to us to basically tell us we can't sit there with no hooka. After explaining we already ordered we came to realize he actually worked at the club. No t-shirt or uniform to indicate he worked at the club. Our waitress ignored us the whole time. 15 mins later still no hooka or drinks at our table. The random guy ended up getting our hooka. And told us they closed in 30-45 mins. 5 mins into our hooka experience a drunk girl knocked over the hooka ash everywhere!!! No one came to check on us and the waitress didn't offer to replace or take it off the check. Basically this long story can continue but I will not be returning to this establishment. This place is the worst hookah lounge. We got to the bar at 11:45pm and the guy with the dreadlocks turned us away. I personally feel it's because we looked "normal" no tight dresses instead casual (cute). Do not go there. Unless you are VIP and have people you know at the door. This place is lit. On the weekends it's like a Boston atmosphere (bottle service, tables, cover to get in (I believe) bomb music. And on the weekdays it's just as good. I went on a Sunday around 6pm and loved the atmosphere- strong drinks, good hookah and again, bomb music. I'm most definitely going back.. and the owner is nice as hell. read more

Security guards but no searches , it was a birthday in our crowd and was told they couldn't get in for free . It's $20 per head (even if you pay over $400 for a table ) your party still has to pay to get in . The space is small , although it is a "Lounge". Drinks are over priced and the DJ SUCKS! All of the waitress have fake huge butts , so it's not much room for you to dance . And when leaving out make sure you double check your receipts.. they will double and over charge you , probably thinking you're too drunk to realize . by far my fav hookah spot in boston ! great vibe on weekdays and more of a party scene weekends but all in all a chill environment !!!
