I visited Sissy K's on a bustling Sunday afternoon. The bar is a low key spot with a mixed clientele - right near Faneuil hall, it Attracts a good variety of tourists and locals and is very child friendly. Maybe too much so for my taste as there were a bunch of 9-11 year old's playing slide whistles during my meal. My server was helpful and accommodating, and I appreciated that she seemed to be the only one serving in the entire place. However, things were a bit slow, and my party waited quite a while at each step of the meal - it felt like it took a while for my food to arrive in particular. That being said, once the food arrived, I was pretty pleased. I had the caprese flatbread, which was delicious, crispy, and rich. I also had a watermelon jalapeño margarita, which had great flavor but not too much spice. I will definitely return here, but probably on a weekday when there are fewer children around. read more

Firstly, our server Christina was really so sweet and nice. The place was not packed, and reasonably priced. It did smell a little funny though walking in, but it's an old building. Seating is pretty much all high top, and there are multiple levels. A few chairs to sit at the bar as well. The Mac and cheese was good. However the beef torta was lacking flavor and my fries were barely warm. I did like how they crisped the cheese though. read more

If I could give Sissy K's zero stars, I would. This place doesn't just fail in customer service--it outright engages in discriminatory and ignorant behavior. A friend of mine, who is a U.S. citizen with a valid Puerto Rican ID, was denied entry on the ridiculous and completely unlawful grounds that Puerto Rican identification is "not valid." Let's be crystal clear: Puerto Rico is part of the United States. Its IDs are just as legal as those from any of the 50 states. The fact that the staff--presumably acting on some outdated, racist, or just plain uninformed policy--chose to enforce this nonsense is beyond unacceptable. Not only did they refuse entry, but they doubled down on their ignorance when confronted with the facts. The level of arrogance and incompetence displayed here is staggering. It's 2025, and yet somehow, a bar in a major city like Boston still operates with this kind of blatant discrimination. I can't stress this enough: take your money elsewhere. There are countless great bars in Boston that don't engage in racist, exclusionary practices. The management at Sissy K's should be ashamed. We were just walking around by Faneuil Hall when we stumbled upon this cozy little bar and restaurant. The vibes were amazing, very rustic and cheerful, the staff were very friendly. When I visited at about 2pm, there were not too many people. It seemed like a good place to step away from the crowds and eat. It was a little dark and the air conditioner was going strong, so what else can you ask for. The staff were also nice for the brief time I saw them. I picked up an order to go. And it was delicious! Just landed in Boston...looking for a place to grab a bite to eat after a long flight. Happened upon Sissy K's across from our hotel. Wow! What a surprise! I tried the chicken & Waffles...can I just tell you, I have never had chicken as tender and juicy! The waffles were made the way Nana used to make them...golden brown and crispy on the outside! And don't get me started on the maple syrup...we don't have anything that flavorful on the west coast! And my drinks were yummmm! The raspberry mojito & tropical martini were works of art! Service you ask? Couldn't get any better! Our amazing server, Kaylin, was such a treat! She was so personable. And we even had the pleasure of chatting with Tommy, the manager...he immediately made us feel like regulars! Thought we must also check off "Visit Irish bar in Boston" before heading out The vibe was super casual and comfortable. Small inside but super cozy. We ordered one of the signature margaritas- They were amazing!!!! We also ordered the rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection!! Why this place only has 3 stars is beyond me because I wish I had stumbled across it sooner!! Sammy was our waitress and she was a doll!! Very friendly, Attentive and helpful with recommendations. First off the karaoke DJ has a personality of a rock. Additionally They play like 2 to 3 songs in between those individuals who are waiting to sing. Additionally, the DJ up stairs thinks their the next daft punk and they take no requests. And their wanna be security will steer you away from attempting to get a request/song played. Don't waste your time. Go to Hong Kong which is next door. The DJ(s) are more personable and has more of a sense of humor and interacts with the crowd. read more

Lauren was hands down one of the best servers I've ever had. She was the only one running a busy floor with one bartender, and they killed it. Stopped by this bar on a Sunday night and it was busy busy! The bouncer was outside. He checked our id's, and let us on in. We picked a table and the waitress was over to greet us pretty quickly. We decided we were gonna drink beer and so we both ordered a Stella Artois to begin the night with. We ended up doing four rounds of Stella Artois... The waitress was super friendly and made sure to check up on us several times. The upstairs was playing really good music for some dancing! It was pretty busy it seemed like a Saturday night! When leaving, the waitress and bouncer again were very friendly, and thanked us for stopping in. I was greeted and told to sit anywhere and was promptly approached by servers and I asked a few questions about the meatloaf entree and mashed potatoes and was told that they were popular and now I see why. The meal came with side salad that I was impressed with, it looked good and tasted better, the meatloaf was just as impressive and I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. While walking through the streets of Boston, a friend took us to Sissy K's. We heard this place gets pretty live upstairs after 8 or 9pm, but we were only there for a little while. I don't drink alcohol, but my friends purchased some drinks from the waitress. The drinks seemed fairly cheap. Quite a few beers only costed them a couple of dollars. While we were here, there was a random trivia game going while TV's were playing a few different sports channels. The trivia game was fun. Good questions that had us intrigued. We stayed for one game and tied with a another team, but lost in a tie breaker question. $25 gift card at stake. Last night I was met at the door by a racist bouncer. I was out enjoying the night with my 3 other female friends, we are all ASIAN by the way. The bouncer didn't speak a word to us and yet denied us access. He told us to take our "COVID somewhere else". He told his co-worker we were too drunk and even when we tried to defend ourselves by explaining to the coworker he was being racist he pushed us out of the doorway. Two WHITE females approached from behind us stumbling over themselves, clearly drunk and yet he let them in without even checking their IDs. Clear and blatant racism, do not go here. read more

Absolutely dead upstairs and we couldn't do anything remotely fun! Consider it especially when catering to a younger crowd. Was a fun little stop while in boston. The good: Food was good and server was nice. The music was also setting a good vibe. The bad: Could have been better service. My group and I felt a little neglected as the server spent most of the night chatting up a table of what we assume were her friends or locals-regulars. I want to preface this by saying it was 2-2:30ish in the afternoon when we went in, and it seemed your typical sports bar. Then, the upstairs section turned into a raging, and I mean RAGING, dance club, wayyyyyyy too much bass, and generally a bunch of people pub crawling and being really noisy. Throwback to college days, anyone? If it was like this when we first went in, we definitely wouldn't have stayed. I mean, I'm with my fiancé's parents and we just wanted a chill lunch! And that extra fifteen minutes turned into at least an hour wait for not so stellar food. At least the waitress was really apologetic. We ordered some buffalo chicken nachos to start, and since our wait was so long we were ravenous--so they tasted good. The Cobb salad had iceberg lettuce, which, let's be honest, they could have at least had romaine. The Mac and cheese did have a good amount of scallops. The fiancé's burger wasn't bad but the fries were ehh. My caprese salad was good, but could have had more balsamic vinegar and basil. They did have 4$ margs, which is why this place is getting an extra star-- but if bass so loud you can't talk to someone a foot away from you isn't your scene...then find somewhere else to eat in this area. read more

I ended my evening here and had a lot of fun. There are a few levels which is nice. The bottom floor is more of a table/bar ambiance and the top floor is more of a club/bar vibe. It was nice to be able to go between the two. There is a bar on each floor and line was pretty short at both of the bars. Decent drinks, did about a regular shot pour, not more or less. So that's up to individuals discretion on if that is good or bad. :) I really liked how the upstairs dance area had a wall of padded couch/seating area. It made it a fun location to people watch on the side or to carry a conversation. Main takeaway, I loved the music choice. Just genuine fun club bops. read more
