Uptown Cheapskate - Sensor left on the dress I purchased once I got home

I recently stopped by Uptown to do some shopping and while I did find some cute tops and a dress,…read morethe overall experience could've been a lot better. I was there on a Friday midday and was surprised by how messy the store was for only being open for 2 hours. It seems like it wasn't properly cleaned up before closing. The tops section was disorganized with a section for tanks that was oddly disrupted by regular blouses and then sweaters... and then more tanks. It was confusing to shop through and made it more difficult to find what I was looking for. I also noticed the prices being incredibly high for mediocre items (I literally saw a Gold's Gym tshirt someone probably got for free being priced at $9.99). A lot of items were damaged including a Free People top I would've totally bought had it not been missing beading and still priced at $20. I purchased a dress that was originally $12.99 but because the straps were safety pinned on and beading was missing, they were nice enough to give me a 10% discount. However, once I got home I noticed the sensor was left on the dress! Super disappointing and annoying since I don't live nearby. The dressing rooms were filthy with dust bunnies and clothes piled up all around the rooms with very few people working to get the area cleaned up. This place has boasted about how they weren't a normal "thrift store" because the shopping experience is supposed to be elevated thanks to the cleanliness and organization. But I'm afraid they've really lost their touch in both respects there. It's tough to justify paying the elevated prices when the customer experience isn't what it used to be.

Went to the American Bullion Center a few days ago with a bag of silver jewelry. The name is fancy…read morebut it's a small house that's been repurposed to a storefront. Not that there's anything wrong with it being a repurposed house but sort of adds to the weirdness of the experience. There isn't much in the building indicating these people are in the bullion business. There's random antique furniture completely clogging the waiting area. If you aren't careful you can trip over something knocking over old lamps or vases or whatever they've got crammed into the building. The owner comes off as rather sleazy referring to his operation as the "shit show" and boasts about how he's going to give you a "shit show price". I gave this gentleman my business and now have deep regret as I've learned I could have got more from other providers had I taken the time to get further pricing. If you have metals you want to sell please do the homework and get several quotes. I would not recommend The American Bullion Center.

The owner was very friendly and chatty and we had a great conversation. It's a small locally owned business so I was nervous going in, but he was extremely reasonable and gave me a total higher than the other big names around. Great experience.
