There are just so many good things to say about this place that I'm not sure where to start…read more First, it is not a "shelter" in the typical sense of the word, and the staff and guests do not refer to it as a "shelter". They consider themselves a "community", and act as such. There are NO lines for anything at the WLP. The women are served their meals at their tables by volunteers, and their materials are bussed for them once they are done, unless they choose to self-bus. The food. Oh heavens! WLP prides itself on serving nourishing, FRESH food. Each meal will have all nutritional requirements met, and there is always a veggie option. We're not talking canned goods or sandwiches here, folks. No, this is chopped and diced fresh veggies, prime cut meats, the finest ingredients. If you're a good cook and after you've volunteered a few times, they are happy to let you get in the kitchen and help whip up stuff. The resident chef there, Gina, is wonderfully creative in the kitchen (and very nice), and from time to time, other professional chefs from local restaurants come in to put together a meal. The WLP isn't jsut a food place, although that's the highlight of the day. It also provides the women with full time advocacy support to help with finding housing, food, or other services. There is a computer room/resource room that the ladies may use. There is also a nap room where women can go to get sometimes some much needed rest, and also a quiet room for just some peace, solitude, and maybe reading or reflecting. Women are also able to get various toiletries and clothing that they may need. They may do their laundry and take showers. The Program Manager, Heather (also very, very nice and competent) has done a great job of making sure that there are interesting activities for guests if they choose to participate: yoga, painting, field trips, knitting, etc. Since the WLP is run as a "community", the staff are INCREDIBLY patient with the women, and if a guest is being disorderly or breaking a rule, she is not immediately tossed out, but is counseled and given more than one opportunity to redeem herself by correcting her behavior. Throwing someone out is a last option at the WLP. WLP treats its volunteers as the valuable commodity we are. We are appreciated, thanked, and made to feel a part of the "team". Added Perk: They also have really incredible volunteer thank you events! I enjoy volunteering here. I learn something new and meet new people each time I go. I don't have a lot of spare time to volunteer, but when I do, the WLP gets me all the time, every time. It's important to know that this place could not be so great without us- the community at large supporting it through donations, volunteering, contributions, etc. The staff, Regina, Linda, Joanna, Lauren, Linnie, and Cheryl are terrific- go meet them! This is just a wonderful, wonderful place. You will not leave here without your heart being touched in some way.

I've volunteered there many times, and the experience was wonderful. The staff is as open, kind and welcoming to volunteers as they are to their ladies. The ladies? Wow. Not anymore! The store is organized by color and the article of clothing. Makes shopping easy if you have a specific thing youa re looking for (ex. jean skirt) or by color but I find it better to organize by size. There were a few interesting finds on the floor such as Ugg boots, Hunter boots, name brand clothing. Stocked stoor! Clean. Lots of employees working to keep up with the commotion. Downstairs has home goods, toys, etc... I think maybe they art shouldn't be near the toys (see my photo.) But that's just my opinion. I can share I thought it was the best Good will that I have been to for: 1. displaying books 2. wall art (a lot of self painted canvases) I left with a cute little picture of a ghost on a swing. It was $7.99 which I did think was a little high but I just liked it so much I couldn't resist.

Absolutely. Purpose? Debatable. This location does seem a little too proud of some of its merchandise. A few price tags had me doing a double take, like... relax. This is still donated stuff. We're not at Sotheby's. It's an indoor yard sale with fluorescent lighting -- let's keep the pricing humble. Organization is loose at best. Racks are packed, shelves are chaotic, and finding anything specific feels less like shopping and more like rummaging through someone's basement while they're watching you. But honestly, that's kind of the deal. If it were tidy, it wouldn't feel authentic. It'd just feel wrong. You might find something great. You might leave with nothing but dust on your hands and questions about humanity. Either way, three stars feels fair.

I had an excellent experience with ReSupply today. I scheduled them for a pickup to donate a chest…read moreof drawers, long dresser, two night stands and a recliner. They texted me in the morning with a smaller window of arrival time for the afternoon pickup and then again when they were 20 minutes away. This was very helpful so I didn't have to spend all afternoon waiting for them to come. The two gentlemen that arrived on time were professional, friendly and very careful removing heavy furniture. The cost came in right around the estimate that was given. Overall it was a very good experience and I highly recommend using ReSupply.

Noon came and went without notification that a driver was assigned so I called, texted, and emailed. I called again and was transferred to a support specialist named Roberto E. Roberto informed me that the driver in my area didn't have time for my pickup, however, I was never notified. I told Roberto that my husband and I took the day off for this project and needed these items picked up by end of day. He said he would contact the driver to see if he could fit us in this afternoon. Roberto then called and emailed back later that the driver "might" be able to do it tomorrow. Might? What if I take another day off, and they can't? Should I take the whole week off? This is already costing me $450, now my PTO, too? I work in healthcare, I can't work from home. I made a reservation, I paid a deposit, and I had a confirmation. Why is this happening? Is this a scam? It's not acceptable to string me along and expect me to take days and days off work for drivers that may or may not show up. Don't bother calling either. Zero customer service, no one wants to help, and no one cares!

I've been to this Savers a few times and I have left with some great stuff! They have sections for…read moreeverything you can think of: clothing, kitchenware, toys, games, furniture, books, crafts, accessories, etc. It does take a while to sort through everything; the shelves and racks are pretty crowded/stuffed. I usually don't bother sorting through the bagged up items on the walls because they're too difficult to get through. However, the clothing section is VERY organized for a thrift store (I found maybe 2 misplaced items-- that's it!). They have tons of XS clothing, which is usually scarce in other stores. I wish they had a bigger craft section (usually just yarn), but I guess that's based off what donations they receive so kind of out of their control. The books section is pretty big and they usually have some kind of deal or sale! As for pricing, it's really inconsistent and tends to be a bit on the higher side. The first time I went, I found a vintage wooden side table in super good condition for $9.99; but a pair of worn American Eagle jeans for $13.99...... Last time I went, I spent about $40 & left with 7 items (4 pairs of jeans, a shirt, a purse, & a pair of shoes). It's very hit or miss but it usually evens out when you see your total. Parking is usually great; it's a parking lot in the same area as DSW but usually not crowded, even on weekends. I will say it is a little dirty in there and they don't really clean out any of the items before shelving them. I found a few purses with crumbs, tissues, old lipstick blotters, etc. They do get this stuff for free so I obviously don't expect a deep clean of every item, but a quick once-over would be nice considering their pricing can be high. COVID changes: masks are required in store, and their fitting rooms are closed. You can EXCHANGE (not return) any items that don't fit after you get them home. All employees were wearing their masks, wiping down the shopping carts, wearing gloves, etc.!
