Barre has become my favorite workout and Karve is the place to do it! Barre is a complete body workout that is fun to do. It is customizable so a novice can start slow and the more advanced can push it to their limits. I have been going for over five years and I still get sore. I cannot say enough great things about Karve! The method, instructors, fellow clients, and studio are all amazing and it has produced incredible results for my fitness goals. I came to Karve wanting to be more toned, become strong but not bulky, get better posture, and to have a workout that challenges me without being high-impact or rough on my joints. All of those wishes have come true with Karve, and I have lost extra weight as well. It has also significantly increased my core strength-- it shows in the way I do other exercises, my posture, and how my clothes now fit better. Every day is a little bit different and each instructor has their own teaching style, so the workouts are never repetitive. The environment is so supportive and I always look forward to seeing familiar faces in class. I drive all the way from Provo to Lindon to attend these classes because they are simply that stellar. The owner Brooke is also really nice and she has done an incredible job creating the perfect workout environment. read more

KICKED. MY. ASS. Incredible and compassionate instructors. I was initially looking for a pilates class, and instead I struck gold and found this hidden gem. Thank you Karen and Stephanie for taking such great care of me. Took advantage of the unlimited monthly deal during my first free week cause I knew I needed to invest in this DISCIPLINE. Yes, something I'm lacking in. I'm obese, and my people (Tongan descent) are one of the top obese groups of folks in the WORLD. Had to get my health in order but not doing stressful strenuous workouts, this fit the description. I'm committed. THANK YOU KARVE FAMILY. Much love always. -Pele read more

I love working out at Karve! Every workout is different, and every workout is a challenge--even though I've been going to Karve for more than 4 years. The instructors are all excellent, and I look forward to every class! Also, with Covid, they are sticklers for making sure everyone maintains social distance and for sanitizing everything between classes. Highly recommend!! read more

I live in LA and travel to Utah monthly for business, and this is my work-out home away from home! I absolutely love the studio - its so clean and well designed. The staff is friendly, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. I took their Barre class and it was awesome! I love a good challenge, and the teacher was great so I'm coming back for more. I'd highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a great workout at a hip place! :) read more

Karve is one of the best workouts I've ever had. It is so wonderful to have it so close to home. There is nothing like it in Utah Valley! All of the teachers are very friendly and helpful. Today was my second day at Karve. I have played sports all my life and have dabbled in crossfit. I was unprepared for my first barre class yesterday- it was a doozy! One of the hardest yet satisfying workouts I've ever had. I'm by no means a dancer or ballerina, I'm 5'9" with a bubble booty and thick thighs but I kinda just watched everyone and I felt I followed along just fine, cut yourself some slack as you're learning. Something I want to mention is that EVERYONE is nice. I'm not even kidding, the instructors are so kind and so are the others taking the classes (such a fun energy!!). Today I took a Zumba class with Jessica. I had to chug water every five minutes because I was smiling so much and my mouth was getting dry! Lol. It was so fun, it felt like a dance party with your best friends, you forgot you were even working out, but you were quickly reminded by all the sweat afterwards haha. I started with the 7-day trial but by day 2 I said "eh what the heck!" and signed up using their January promotion. My tip- it can seem intimidating at first, but nobody is watching you! (Only the instructors, and that's just to help you and make sure you're doing the moves right!) The instructors know when you're new and they introduce themselves which I just love so much. I've already made 3-4 friends at Karve and it's my second day!! So glad to be a part of such a fun and exciting little community. read more

History

Established in 2011.

Karve Studio was Arizona's first ballet barre fitness studio, and was the first authentic ballet barre studio to open in Utah. Based off of the Lotte Berk Method and Callanetics. The Karve technique has evolved from these methods by improving on orthopedic safety and increased fat-burning to develop a fast, effective, yet SAFE fitness program that develops long lean muscles, tapered waistline, and increased health and stamina.

Meet the Business Owner: Brooke H.

Brooke began teaching the Karve method at the original Karve Studio in Mesa, Arizona 14 years ago. Her love of the method and how it changed her body with little to no impact on her joints inspired her to move to Utah and introduce this method to the Utah Valley. She is motivated and rewarded every day when her clients tell her how much this method has changed their own view on exercise, and how their bodies have changed in ways other fitness regimes were never able to.

When it first opened, it was fantastic -- welcoming staff, community events, clean facilities, and a great overall atmosphere. Since the new owner took over, everything has gone downhill. There is rarely any staff present, making it nearly impossible to bring guests or get assistance when needed. You can't purchase merchandise or basic items anymore, which shows a clear lack of basic operational effort. Multiple pieces of equipment are broken and remain unrepaired, and the facility itself is noticeably dirty. It feels neglected and poorly managed. It's obvious that there is little to no pride or care being put into this business anymore. I can no longer recommend this location to anyone. It's truly sad to see what was once a great gym deteriorate so badly. At this pace, I would honestly be surprised if this location is still open a year from now. One of the girls stood up to talk to me and said, "no, I think all of the hoops are at the right height. " I responded and said, "no, many of them are around seven or 8 feet. They should be at 10 feet. "She looked at me like I was speaking a different language and said no I believe we can't adjust the height of the hoops. I realize that maybe I was speaking to someone who had only worked there for a little while and maybe didn't know the rules or the procedures around raising and lowering the hoops. So I said, "I believe we can raise the hoops and you can use that tool (pointing at the tool by her) to raise them. If you get a chance, please help us raise one of these hoops to 10 feet. " I thought that I was really nice and respectful. What happened is nobody ever came out to help us raise the hoops to 10 feet they just sort of ignored our request. Not the end of the world, we still love this place. But I hope in the future, the staff is trained and able to assist in these types of things.

Just before sunset, the whole canyon was warmly lit - glistening in grandeur - begging to be photographed. We were short on time - needing to return to the Bonneville Shoreline Trailhead (about 1.75 miles away) before dark but this scene beaconed us in such a way that we had to press on up its steep steps - curious to see how the view might shift with each step! Leaving the trail with only a taste of what these Dry Canyon trails could offer, we placed this high on our list of considerations for a post-work hike!

There is a little spot where someone had built a fire (not sure if allowed) where you can rest and enjoy the lake views. For something intermediate there is a trail that ascends further into a meadow that is a great place to rest for lunch. I recommend good sun block and a hat on very sunny days since there is very little coverage most of the trail. This is perfect for a family hike on the weekend, or a relaxing hike even during the weekdays.

Let me start by saying he is a very experienced golfer, he golfs 18 holes numerous times a week at many courses throughout the Salt Lake and Utah Valley. He is more than accustomed to golf etiquette and is very patient with courses when things are just moving slow on the course. His 1:00 tee time was delayed by 10-15 minutes. By the 4th hole, a gentleman from two groups behind them drove his cart over to them and told them to speed up their play. My boyfriend and his playing partners politely explained they've been waiting at every tee box and understood the course was just playing slower. He drove off and said have a nice day. This man was not the course Marshall, just someone from a random group. At the 11th hole, the same man began taunting my boyfriend's group telling them to speed up. This continued from hole 11 thru 18. Even though it was obvious that my boyfriends group could not speed up their pace of play as they were waiting on the group in front of them, and if they would have allowed this taunting gentleman to play through, it would not have accomplished anything as the gentleman would have then been waiting on the same party my boyfriends group was. Normally we would chalk this up as poor sportsmanship and golf etiquette of random people on the golf course. However.... This gentleman proceeded to drive up to my boyfriend and yell homophobic slurs. At which time it was uncovered this gentleman is an employee of Fox Hollow Golf Course by the name of Mike. Who was sporting a Mohawk, skinny denim jeans and a zip up hoodie. Not only is it incredibly upsetting that an EMPLOYEE would be ruining a paying customers experience by taunting and belittling a customer, but his homophobic slurs while representing a course he is employed by are disgraceful. As an employee of the course on or off the clock, if you are playing on the course you should be showing the utmost professionalism. Including dressing in true golf appropriate attire and not in street clothes. We will not give our money to Fox Hollow ever again, and strongly encourage any one that is LGBTQ+ or is an ally to rethink giving your money to these people. We will be following up with a better business bureau review as I truly think the amount of taunting my boyfriend went through was a sign of discrimination as Mike believed my boyfriend as Gay based off the slur he yelled. Do better Fox Hollow.

Best workout I've ever done!!!!!!!! The teachers are phenomenal !! The owner Brooke is super conscientious, qualified, friendly and really understands how to make her clients feel valued and welcome. The clients have become some of my best friends. Clients and teachers are so supportive and encouraging!! Karve's atmosphere is current, fresh and also well organized and spotless. For this kind of workout I would have expected to pay triple what Karve charges. It couldn't be more pleased about the results I have seen in my body. The workouts are challenging but not scary. In a matter of weeks--I saw muscles I didn't even know I had. THE ANTI-AGING WORKOUT! I love this method and this studio! Karve Studio is clean, beautiful, friendly and the workout is always challenging. I have been taking classes at Karve for over 18 months and I am so happy with the changes in my body. I am leaner, more flexible, and have more muscle than I have ever had (and I have always been active and fit).The instructors are enthusiastic, encouraging and knowledgable. I love bringing my friends to try a class and many have started taking classes. It is so fun to workout with friends! Karve is the best workout I have ever done! And I have tried everything. I have worked out here regularly (3-5 times a week) for 6 years. They change up the workout to keep it challenging, fun and interesting. I worked out during two pregnancies and recoveries. It has helped me lose weight and more importantly, lose inches, feel great, and make new friends!! It raises your metabolism and helps build lean muscle without damaging your joints or body. I have never been injured and I feel better than ever and I'm now in my 40s. I found and tried on my college pants and I can swim in them now. read more

The staff and instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful. I don't feel awkward when I have to do some modified techniques as I get stronger and more flexible. I haven't exercised in years I'm 53 and decided to try a private class first due to be nervous. Wow these machines are amazing! A must try.

Karve is the best workout I have found in a long time. I've been coming for 2 years and it has never gotten old.
